See when people say the game isn't dark, what they actually mean (assuming they read story) is that HOPE is one of the main themes, but of course we all know what hope pairs with :v
Tho I suppose if we refer to devs, the word they'd use is "miracles" :v
So that's what they mean by the story not being dark... Well, I do love some angsty and emotional moments, even if it leads to a happy end. haha Or perhaps, the better word to describe it is a hopeful or miraculous end. XD
i think people just see serious tones in stories then call it dark lol its honestly just wholesome, the BA story is very wholesome, it has very serious tones but it always have a light at the end of the tunnel.
And also just as the GSC President said, the other themes are adulthood, responsibility, and ideals, so Blue Archive is mainly about students facing adulthood, responsibility, and ideals, the journey can be considered dark, but the ending is always a happy ending, just as our great faust has said in her speech

They are?!? Haha, I actually did think of K-ON (and a few others) afterwards, but at that point, it was too late to say anything else. LOL Such a cute anime though~
I think a reason people sometimes say that BA is dark is that even though it has a generally light-hearted, hopeful tone, the writers care about exploring some serious themes through the story in ways you don't usually see in slice of life. There are a lot of mature questions and ideas that get addressed through the characters and their conflicts, and I think some readers conflate the presence of those themes with dark storytelling. I don't really blame them - cute, uplifting media rarely contains serious themes unless it's part of a dark anime style 'gotcha' moment!
Ahhhh, that makes sense. I like it when stories tackle more serious themes, so I look forward to experiencing the story myself next week!

The other PVs you saw like 0.5 are animated PVs made by Chinese Server since they just recently started. And goodness they have a pretty big budget. They animated a lot of PVs and they have their own CH dub for the whole main story.

Welcome new sensei. I recommend checking out "blue archives lore in 7 minutes" by Inoe to explain some of the world details. There's no spoilers, so it's safe to check out.
Blue Sechi also has amazing animations (avoid the one titled Final Episode highlights).
For your question on stars, students come in 1-3 star rarity. However, blue archive works on a shard system. Any character can raise their rating (also increases stats) easily. On top of that, they can then be raised to a further 5 star status.
Blue Archive's story is light hearted, but also emotional. I genuinely did not expect to love it as much as I did when I started. Do note that the global servers are 6 months behind JP. Some previous events stories can also be read (with minor rewards) despite the event itself no longer getting another re-run. Even if you're not a fan of the gameplay (which, to be honest, can usually be auto'd or skipped), the story is absolutely worth it.

Highest gacha rarity is 3* but you can raise every students to 5*. Also you don't have to spend money to raise a student to it's max potential because everytime you pull a character you'll get eligma, shop currency to buy character's eleph (items to raise it's star)
That... is quite F2P friendly of them! That means that I can focus on my favorites and make them 5* in the future~ How nice~
@@Trailblazer_Ririnaalso the gacha use points instead of pity. If you pulled 200 times, you will get 200 points, where you can trade it to any feature banner characters. Unfortunately the points will reset once the feature banner end.
@@vicelvin3248 Adding some info, the gacha points will reset after the banner end AND those points will be converted to another currency (Keystone Fragment). With that currency u can craft some upgrade material, cafe furniture & gift for students

@@Trailblazer_RirinaGotta grind or roll for Elephs, every time you pull gotcha you get Elephs. It takes 20 pulls or 200 pts to guarantee for the unit you want. Elephs can also be used to purchase firing pins to upgrade unit weapons.

If it eases you a little. This is the first gacha I’ve played other than one month of Fire Emblem Heroes when it came out. Don’t play mobile games that much. But the actual gameplay is fun once you get out of the really early portion where you don’t have to think at all and steam roll.
The team building aspect is pretty entertaining and it doesn’t punish you for being free to play since many different units fill similar roles and common units are still competitive with the rare ones. I’m free to play and have had no issues getting into the harder content after some time playing.
Looking forward to watch you play! Game really finds its footing in the third main story but the first two are still pretty fun.

Blue archive is definitely a game, and even though it is fanservicey the story is anything but that.
Eh, if I can watch and enjoy a whole bunch of harem anime as a kid, then I don't think I'll have a problem with the fanservice in this game. 😂😂😂 But yes, I think I was hungry while watching all the videos. hahaha

pretty late to the video, but the reason why there are people who say that the game is dark, and there are people who say that it's not, is because that the game EVENTUALLY, has a happy ending. "Eventually" being the emphasis here. And on some volumes, that "eventually" part can take quite a while...

The auto battle ai isn't exactly very smart. You're better off playing the game on manual once you get the jist of how the combat and synergy works. The highest ranked character is 3 stars when you pull but you can max them out to 5 stars from dupes. You can farm certain characters and acquire their dupes from the in game store. Also check out the full OST on MO2's channel its a banger.
