Post colonialism : An introduction

The term Post colonialism refers to the representations of culture, tradition language, religion and the very human identity in the modern context. It's a cultural approach to the study of power relations between different groups, cultures of people in which language, literature and translation play an important role. And henceforth post colonial literature seeks to understand the suppression, oppression and adaptation which happened during the colonial rule. Most of the post colonial narratives are based on the thematic concepts which are connected with both coloniser and the colonised and therefore aims at interpreting the cultural legacy left over by the colonisers and the impact thereafter.

And these changes resulted in major clash between both the culture and as a result of this conflict the native culture (Igbo) was ruined. And Achebe traces out these changes in the novel and says tht it depends on each person, how he welcomes the changes though it brings conflict .
