@@ShadesOfLiterature There is a slight difference between both of them. Port-colonialism talks about the immediate period after the colonialism or decolonisation, whereas postcolonialism deals with the ideas, thoughts, changes and so on after colonialism that are still addressed.

Achebe in the novel conserves Igbo culture as well as oral culture. He often mocks the colonizers outlook and refers to orality more like a fabricated one

And these changes resulted in major clash between both the culture and as a result of this conflict the native culture (Igbo) was ruined. And Achebe traces out these changes in the novel and says tht it depends on each person, how he welcomes the changes though it brings conflict . I hope I answered ur question
