About 8 different versions by the velvets if you collect em all. Dean melded them all together to make this superb rendering, kind of like a greatest hits version.
@Hamsaouahamsine hmmmmmmmmmm.. i love that one, but there's this live twelve minute version V.U. did that's just devastatingly gorgeous. That one is my favorite.
@Hamsaouahamsine Velvet Underground never actually completed the song. There's an instrumental on the "Another View" album released long after they disbanded, and a rough demo w/ lyrics recorded around the time of "Loaded" (it's on the deluxe version of that album). Luna did a great job fusing these two versions together, but that's not to take anything away from the band that wrote it and originally created the music.
@Kurbisa Luna's version is a 'B' side, or whatever you wanna call it, on the Slide EP. Other than that, I have no opinion whatsoever, and haven't seen the previous comments. I like Lou Reed / The Velvets / Luna equally.
Oh, for fuck's sake!!! The real original version was recorded for Reed's debut album, the Velvets have only a demo version. Plus, Reed's version's way faster than this.
I LOVE THIS SONG! I'm glad someone other than me loves VU's ride into the sun
Luna music always reminds me of the most brilliant sunny summer days.............
La version instrumentale est monstrueuse. Après de multiples écoutes, je ne m'en lasse pas.
Bravo Luna, superbe adaptation.

killer version of this song :P
I like the quine tapes version. Pure magic.
NOTHING can beat the original. And hell yeah, greetings from Poland! Looks like only Poles know what's best from VU ;)

In my view, Lunas studio version of Ride into the sun (on Slide EP, 1993) is by far better than any by the velvet underground.
