If she had ran this race without another republican candidate opposing her, she would have won the seat, and would have won by about 28-30 points. Here's a fact you probably don't know: If Sarah hadn't had a republican opponent she would have won the seat. Since there were 2 republicans, they split the right's votes, Sarah got the lion's share, but the total red votes added up to around 60%. Her Democratic opponent only received 38% of the votes and won the seat. Alaskans voted 60% red, but their crazy voting system installed a lefty that only got 38% of the votes. If Sarah had run uncontested on the right, she would have won by about 28-30 points.
She is the beginning of the end of the GOP.

She didn't fail, and if you did your homework you would know this. If she had ran this race without another republican candidate opposing her, she would have won the seat, and would have won by about 28-30 points. Its the Alaskan voting system that failed to put the right candidate in. 60% of the votes were for republican candidates, but the seat went to a lefty that got 38% of the votes. Are the Alaskans being represented by the party of their choice? No. 60 is greater than 38. We all learned this in school.
