Unpopular Opinion - ausitn vs rock is the bigger box office feud but hhh was really rocks greatest rival. There’s so much depth to their feud, from their 1st match in 96, to their dx vs nation feud, the ladder match / 2 out of 3 falls in 98, hhh debut his sledgehammer against the rock, their entire 00 feud. Just many layers, so many moments and so many great matches. And the crazy apart about that is the rock might not even be hhh’s greatest rival because you can argue hbk. Just shows how great hhh was when it came to feuding, having great stories, matches and moments
I would put hhh vs rock over hbk because it was more real. Shawn and hhh were best friends in the back . Same with how Shawn’s greatest rival is Bret hart
What I like the most is that in spite of not thinking highly of each other to start, they still put their disagreements to the side and put on a show for millions of people. To top it all off, both guys are not only icons in the the world of pro wrestling, but are now great friends.

The excuse was Austin wasn’t ready. Vince didn’t think rock vs hhh was big enough to headline wrestlemania 2000 which was crazy because rock was white hot and people were ready for him to beat triple h for the belt

I disagree rock and hhh had more than proven themselves . I think it was simply looking for an end to the hhh / mick Foley fude and the rock / big show fude witch I disagree with . It should have been rock / hhh at wrestlemania rock Wins the title after interference from big show and Foley . At backlash it should have been the end of the hhh Foley fude and rock should have defended the title against the big show
