An amazing metaphor for emotional trauma and depression as well. It's a lot like drowning...

@@g-lix7702 Well, in my crysis, i literally felt like i was drowning. It was like fighting against the waves that tried to bury me. Many times i made myself that question "Have i had enough?" "May i just... let myself go?" "Will i have peace, if i just surrender?"

@@elterrestresinmanos5078 have you ever tried dying or being seconds from death? I get the trauma thing to i have had ptsd trauma and everything. But also when you are in a situation where you might die in a day to a week. I feel like being aware of ones mortality is a blessing if you think about it in the right way it makes you not give up so easily.

Depression for sure… always circle back to the one line with mine
“And all the while, this question lingers before you….. have you had enough?”

I rewinded this scene over 10 times before I continued with the rest of the story. Thanks for this.

I love silco manlog because we all want our problems and pain to fade away so it makes this scene kinda really relatable

i was re watching arcane with my brother and two cousins one of which has not seen arcane, and she has a habit of asking questions that are often answered within the next minute of the show and are often smaller moments of the audience realising what's going to happen next, usually this makes sense: "oh my god is she going to die", "what's that gas stuff why isn't silco choking", but this scene gave her such dread that she started asking what was going to happen through the entire episodes and WHICH characters were going to die. The scenes sets the tone for episode 3 PERFECTLY, we know we're getting into some shit and we know it's unpredictable

Still revisiting this and still I cannot get over it. The inflection is just insanely good, enunciation and accentuation are on point. This is a piece of art. Holding on to the word "holding"... it is so simple but it is brilliant.

What a great piece of good writing.
The best feature of Arcane is the storytelling and writing...that's why it's a absolute masteripiece.
Hope they will keep this high standard in S2.

Something about this reminds me of Finding Nemo, perhaps it's just the fact its predominantly underwater but the scene where Marlin loses everything or believes he has until he finds one remaining egg, broken yet still clinging on.
There's a bizarre comfort mixed in with a sadness that makes you feel like you're sinking. Though both scenes are for very different audiences, they feel somewhat alike.
Both Film and Series came to me in my life the film when I was a child and this series when I was just becoming an adult living on my own in a place I didn't really want to be, both times where change started happening in me, changes that left me feel as though I was drowning without someone to help me keep swimming or being comfortably dragged down by the monster the sum of my past created.
The guttural reaction I have to this scene is like everything internal is being sent out and played on a screen in front of me, it's both horrifying and utterly intrigueing to watch and it somewhat gives me a sense to keep kicking despite the peace that the dark embrace promises. I cannot wait for the second season to come and though I don't think it will be as gripping, to see how the previous sets up the events of the next has me wanting.😊

Coming back back here 6 months later.
This scene is something else. First time watching I qas already on the edge of my seat after the end of ep. 2, and this made my hair stand. And (because it's Arcane, what else would be the case) this monologue is different. The 'villain monologue' is a stereotypical element in many villains. At firs glance, Silco seemed like a villain that you either find comical or absolutely despise at first, but would gradually understand, starting with this scene. Key word: seemed. In other 'villain monologue' instances, we see thwm speak and somefimes are shown a flashback or trauma or something to show that they are serious about their goal. But here... this scene puts you into Silco's headspace, not just showing you his trauma, but making you feel that despair, fear, pain and that primal need to survive. It leaves you imagining what the aftermath would have been like. It feals real and harsh and this is the first step in humanizing Silco. I think this scene is peak writing.

It’s amazing to think that this was almost the first scene in the whole series.
Very glad they changed it but it is still in my top three favourite scenes.

I can’t help but think on how he almost killed Vi. He knew he couldn’t take that choice away from her. I wonder if he could have been faced with it again: “have you had enough?”

I have always been confused because when we see him drowning, his eye isn't scratched out, but then it shows that Vander scratched his eye out. Why does he not have the scratch when he's drowning?

    • @jansonshrock2859
      @jansonshrock2859 2 роки тому +1

I'm pretty sure we do see point of him being drowned and his face is bleeding, I don't think his eye specifically got cut or stabbed though i think just his face around that eye was cut, the point he was making is that the river toxins entered his bloodstream around his eye and probably messed it up from the inside.
