Having a windsock established it as an active airstrip. But it was a good landing. I noticed that the plane did not have "fairings" on the wheels which would have been a problem in brush on that strip. A fiend of my brother (later became a commercial piolet) landed his plane after my brother landed but his wheels had fairings (for some reason some people refer to them as finders) and wound up in a hospital when a tall brush like weed wrapped up inside the fairing and rolled the plane up into a ball. I enjoyed the old equipment with what looked like old flathead 6 cyl gasoline engines instead old diesel. A good indication of the time period of the mine. Great video!!!
As a wanna-be private bush plane pilot, that landing looked kosher to me! Great work Dan, looks like you cleared that last little bump in the LZ just before touch-down. Another great adventure Elley! Thx for the tour of the old mine!
@@danchain6152 Not yet, but it’s next on the list! I’ve attended The Arizona Flying Circus a few times and Mo put me in touch with my paragliding instructor. So is "Cat Face" code for "Sour Puss"? I guess I'd be a little stressed if I had to land a $100k plane on a road I wouldn't want to drive my car on. My heart was pounding during takeoff. Good job Dan. Great adventure.
I was still a bit frazzled from the several low and slow passes and the one attempt to land on the more established strip but it was a straight crosswind on the main strip and right down the runway on the smaller one I landed on. After walking both of them the main one isn't much better
Hey! I love your videos! Your microhone is only outputting to the left channel and may be in mono mode. It sounds great but its distracting when its only coming out of one speaker at a time.
That was fun and he did a great job landing and taking off. Good explination on the copper processing and looking at al lb the green laying about. I'm just glag you didn't get a flat tire on the landing. Keep having fun and stay healthy! 😷⚒🛩
I'm a little sad the rattlesnake didn't make the final cut of this video. Oh well. We got the gopher snake! When you mentioned the azurite, something finally clicked in my brain: I found a nice chunk of it in the dirt driveway here on the farm. I couldn't think what it was. I knew it was something I was familiar with, but nothing was connecting. I gave it to my friend's daughter (she's my little rockhound buddy) knowing she'd put it on display in her room. Now I can tell her what it is! It was literally when you described it that everything clicked. D'oh! I know I'm blonde under the purple or pink or even the occasional nonexistent hair, but how could I have not gotten it sooner? It's been almost a year since I found it. Ah. Well. That's me in a nutshell, I guess. Thanks again for taking us along with you when you're out adventuring. I love these videos (even if it takes me 5 days to finally finish)!
That was an awesome video I bet u had a blast on that trip i have a ? 4u I am in south west Washington i keep finding this rock it's like a jasper like material so it's dark green but a mic of red jasper or would it be the same kind of stone that u was finding on the video but in jasper form
What a fantastic place! Malachite is my favorite mineral 💚
Favorite! Wow! Its beautiful but caustic, huh? I love other rocks more.
That's pretty cool...

Somebody should take a weed eater a rake and maybe a shovel and clear the strip.
What an exciting adventure! I never knew the place existed. It is all very much intact. Thank you for taking us there.
Hey Elley interesting video. For your information there is a typo on the opening title at 1:28 "Welceom" 😉
Been watching your vids for a few months now. I must say you are a very knowledgeable young woman. Love your personality.
What a cool day trip. So lucky to see the friendly gopher snake!
I bought land in the gold Basin Area and spend time in the winter there. Next winter I will have to try to get to that mine.
I think you landed well, only one severe bump!
Awesome cool o -mundo explore and l love the hat. Those are old Mack dump trucks.

It was, I work in bagdad and commute from havasu to bagdad, it won't be next week though, I gotta drive and move some stuff with my truck

Cool. I park a road grader up there from time to time . I noticed that 2 of the 3 abandoned planes have been removed finally.

I'd love to do a 3d drone map of this place
And now you know where they get the expression flying by the seat of your pants
A little-known fact is they're called Gopher snakes because you can send them after things that you need.
Need a collab between you and @AskJeffWilliams
Dan seems like Danny Downer at times.
