- For #worldwatercolormonth I'm posting a new video every day! Today's video offers a lesson for you on process in watercolor. When you have an understanding of what to focus on for each stage or layer of the painting, you will be more likely to paint something that works together well, and avoid overworking your painting.

OMG. I have been searching for a tutorial such as this for awhile. I’ve been painting watercolor for about a year and have definitely made progress. However, finding your tutorials has made a huge difference in the way I approach and think about painting. Thank you!
Thank you for this. It was a wakeup call in a way. I get really irritated and frustrated if what I imagined is not showing up on the paper. I then consider the painting a failure and want to junk it. Others see it differently, though. Because they don't know what I imagined when I started, they tell me that it works and is a keeper.
We are so grateful for your daily video during this month … thank you very much Angela ❤
Very pretty! I liked the colors you used and how you kept it loose. Thank you!
Yeah, like the others said, grateful & thank you!
Another inspiring and thought provoking video Angela. I’m impatient and find it hard to move away from original photo. I recognise that it’s way better to use it as a starting point and then work with the magic that unfolds in front of me. I love watching you paint… thank you 🙏🏻
Excellent tutorial. Like someone else commented, I find it’s so easy to get caught up in how I want the painting to go rather than following the often more exciting cues that I’m getting from what’s on the page. What a gifted teacher and artist you are. Thank you ❤
Thanks for this WWM series!
Beautiful. Like some of your tips like creating first layer without your glasses.
I love this. Gorgeous colours.
Wow, that's a beauty!
Thankyou for these daily tips. I’ve been following you since I started almost 6 yrs ago.
Thank you for this Angela! The challenge I face is the thought process at different stages of my paintings. This walk-thru on this painting has been VERY HELPFUL!
I just finished a painting that was drastically different from my original plan. How funny that you talked today about allowing that to happen. At one point I told myself, oh well, I’ll use this piece to experiment on and then toss it. But I really like how it came out. What fun that was! You’re always inspiring. Love Rockwell paints too!
Love your stuff
Extraordinary, Angela! You come through as a breath of fresh air. Just like your painting. I'll see what I can do tomorrow 😊
I really appreciate these daily clips Angela. Thank you. P.s. love your art ❤
Ahhh, gorgeous!
amazed by the incredible talent and dedication you possess.
This is exactly what I needed to learn! You read my mind! (Again!?) Thanks so much Angela!
Seemingly so simple but a lot of thought behind it!
Excellent ideas and demo. Thanks😊
Wow wow wow this was awesome and what an incredibly beautiful painting it turned out to be
Wonderful
I'm so glad I discovered your channel. Very nice and interesting video. The end result of second layer is special and the process of realization is interesting. Very good and helpful explication. I like the details.
Angela oh my goodness you are awesome! I have been stalking youtube and subscribed to so many artist channels! You are by far the best!!
So I just subscribed to your channel!! Thank you!!
I do have one question you said the supplies are listed below and I looked for the small brush you use and can't find it anywhere and I'd like to get some can you help. Thank you so much! Michelle
Thanks for another great tutorial/demo!
FYI, The Rockwell art link was dead.
❤❤❤
So helpful! Love the blue in the sky. Is it the cobalt blue that’s listed? It looks like cerulean but more translucent.
Ok I'm a beginner...a very early learner. But I have to say that very large white area in the corner just looks so odd to me. I do not recall ever seeing a painting with a large white area such as this. But ok I suppose I should be quiet since you are the expert. I will continue to watch. It is interesting to learn from you and others.
I love leaving white space in my paintings! It's one of my indulgences. :)
ANGELA, what is the brush that you are using to put in the first layer?
I purchased the Rockwell pigments but have not tried them yet. Do you know if they are lightfast?
They do offer some lightfastness information on their website. I haven't tested the lightfastness myself.

@@stephanieyoungerman5026 Thank you 👍🏾
I have a question. What does the bottom left corner of your painting represent? it looks like a field of white …it can’t be white snow (that doesn’t work). Is it white beach? Why does it look unfinished there? Why aren’t there details? It’s the foreground. I really liked the tutorial. But I feel puzzled by that one spot.Thank you in advance of your answer. Best wishes.😊
It's just white space. I often leave my foreground simple or unfinished. In reference photos that area is the most detailed because it's the closest to the camera, but when we take photographs we are usually looking far out into the distance, so obsessing over detail at the bottom of the page can actually pull the viewer away from looking into the distance. Sometimes I'll add more detail along the bottom than I did in this quick demo painting, but I like to keep it simple.
@@angelfehr thanks so much. Your answer was very helpful to me. I appreciate you taking the time to answer…I know you are super busy this month. Take care with care. Please don’t burn out like I did years ago. Oh my! Blessings! 😊
