And to make matters worse, if you play well enough, he’ll ki stun you occasionally. I hope they make all the CPU like that cause it was pretty fun to fight against. Even if he nearly perfect blocked every hit I did.
As a PvE focused player, I had a lot of fun in cross versus. It is not your typical PvP mode, but it is a PvP mode where you compete about who can PvE better. Edit: Watching so many raids of the three idiots I forgot about Deiota and Rhymeza. And probably Doto's CaC with Yamcha hair. It all started with Cell Max.
A good way to get people to not just farm rocks is to also make boss fights something you need to do rather than just farming rocks Like the boss fights being optional is such a weird choice if you don't need to fight them
I think one of the interesting details of this mode is that when the boss shows, you can actually see if they're fighting the boss or not by the little health bar under the team points, good detail imo.
Something I think they should do is obviously make beating the boss the only end goal. You still need to collect enough points to unlock the Boss area, but once the boss area is unlocked everything in the mission area is now repurposed. Destroying certain crystals will strengthen the enemy boss to make it more challenging for your opponents or apply debuffs to your boss to make your team’s life easier. Maybe there could be certain crystals to buff invaders. The whole point of Cross Versus is so everyone of all skill levels can equally contribute because not everyone is as good at fighting as everyone else. And this idea will keep the Mission Area relevant during the boss fight and allow those lesser skilled players to still contribute in a big way
Yeah this mode needs to make fighting the boss a priority. Maybe an increased point count or something... because we already know that when these Festival Events go down, everyone and their mother is becoming Chris Redfield.
This new game mode has tons of potential. The main issue is exactly what you guys already said, people will stay in the main area farming crystals and bots. They should make it so you only collect points until the boss appears, then the points stop and the only way to win is by defeating the bosses.
Looks like a cool mode and looking forward to trying it out. I think they need to figure out a way to revive Expert Missions as well. I know there are some similarities to raids, but they should revive them with new unique skills you can get.
Damn its weird seeing Seereax with the ponytail + no beard and Rhyme using frieza race 😂 (i was so used to seeing them using their CAC from the Levi mods 😂)
So i think what i learned is collecting the items on the floor and when you finished with everything hit the crystals to gain more points. As new enemies comes the more points you have. I also noticed at times they let you use your ultimate attack on them. I think also having your CAC to the new max level does help to to do this faster.
I think they made you be able to collect points and win by crystals was their way of making sure people that are bad at the game can still contribute and win but I think they need to find another way And/or they should add a system to where if your the only team in your own boss area you should passively gain 5-10 points every second and the passive gain would go away if neither team or both teams are in their boss area
This game mode is actually pretty dope. Pretty different concept and a refresher to play instead of just PvPs, PQs, Online PQs, Events, Raid, and all. They should add different types of modes like this. That would be always a refresher and makes this game much better. I'm glad because the devs actually put in work into this big update that is actually hype. Can't wait to see how this game will evolve more in the future. 💯

If it was up to me, I'd make it so that fighting the boss would give like, twice as many points as anything else. Also, let's all take a shot for Rhyme not knowing how to lock on- Edit: Okay, I commented when I hadn't played it yet. Had no WiFi. It's a super addicting mode and I love it.
Being mainly a PvE player in X2, I like how you're given different options on how to play this. Its designed for players on both sides of the spectrum and I haven't had this much fun since Crystal Raids was first introduced. The boss fights are the best parts to me too minus having to fight a player (I don't enjoy the PvP experience much unless its with friends) but I also have no issue with collecting points and fighting AI that gradually get tougher. By the way Rhyme, the small crystals that give you 10 points are also 10 in quantity too. They're usually set up in a pattern that's easy to follow so if manage to collect all 10 by yourself, you'll net 300 points and if an ally manages to take even one of them, it'll be reduced to 150 points.
at this point, its kinda weird seeing actually balanced xenoverse enemies and not the modded mobs that either take half health with one lucky punch or insta-kill with a surprise explosive wave ultimate
I like this game mode so far, AI likes jumping you a little too hard sometimes imo but otherwise good. Bomber DX is definitely the meta for those crystals tho.
Once you hit level 2 or 3 Bomber DX ends up being like 1 bar and a nut tap away from breaking, that thing is cracked Super ki explosion also probably goes crazy against those saibamen/cell jrs
i think the point cap should be increased to like 20,000 or so, and they should make it so crystal and saibamen points cap out at 10,000. so once you hit the 10,000 mark you either have to kill players for points or kill your boss to win
I hope this new raid system is cracked soon so it can be modded into Three idiots style raids with these mechanics, not the collecting points to win part, but the Leveling up and randomly gaining Skills to fight busted bosses later on.
I think this honestly has legs, first is the obvious if get rid of the giant forms, second up the points needed to 15000/18000 so that if someone does want to win on points it’s a legitimate grind instead of the easier option, then 3 variation, keep little but noticeable changes for character customisation and enemies
In Destiny the final boss spawns after you reach the score limit and you win by killing the final boss. If this gamemode did that then it would be so much better.
I hope the AI eventually gets an intelligence boost over all. we've seen that they can do it officially here. and we've seen that modders can outright make the AI use their Awoken Skills as well. so here's hoping since Xenoverse 3 is ***definitely*** not happening they can at least keep making more substantial changes like this update gave us so we can make this game as great as it can be. cause Xenoverse 2 has still ever lived up to even HALF of it's potential, and yes I *am* taking the fact that it's made from an engine from 2008 into account when I say that.
I played for like 4 hrs on this mode straight and I have to say it's incredible. Never has the Boss AI been this good he can stamina break and combo to ult it's great.

It's better than any of the other modes they have ever introduced. BUT, at the same time... this mode is also a catch all. So it can't please everyone. Once they fine tune it, it'll lose its appeal to everyone. For example, if they make it so you have to defeat the boss: then you're forcing PvP. And people won't play this mode for PvP. Some people like this mode because you can avoid other players altogether. At the same time: if you lean any further into the competition/point grinding aspect of it, you'll lose the players who want to PvP. I like the mode how it is and it's a great idea. But it's also on a knife's edge. Any way they tweak the mode, could ruin it for a decent size chunk of the players. Maybe they go and tweak it after the player base drops back to normal. That way, they tweak it for the long term players of the game.
You and Deion probably know this by now but if you go to your play data you can change the pose you can do in this mode. Love the content throughout the years BTW, much love to all the homies! 🙏
Changes I would make to cross versus: -Force players to boss arena -Boss needs to be killed twice for a win -Cannot bring supers instead start with game developer preset super attack skills sets -Skill supers now drop -Client or team side skill drops on all maps color coded to Ultimate/Super attack slots -More time -30 Seconds before first boss spawns to give skill salvage time -All players do not get points from PvP until the current area boss has respawned. -Crystals give 120 points -Lower the max level to 3 but start ki bar out full and at 5 ki -Have levels unlock better Supers/Ultimate Drops -Put Crystals in Boss arena and only have the boss attacking team be able to target them Also force new dialogue options to: "I got this" "I need help" "I need help in another area" "I need an Ultimate" "Guard the boss" "Attack the boss" "Attack the players" "Trade opponents"
This mode and the new pre-mission lobby system feels like a perfect representation of Dimps' super weird method of supporting this game. The features they add aren't necessarily bad. They can actually be pretty fun. But compared to all the features people REALLY want and that they definitely know about, it just kinda makes you scratch your head and ask "Okay, great. But...Why?" lmao
Maybe they should do something like the crystals heal the boss as the fight goes on, giving incentive to destroy the crystals. That way you can't win just by destroying the crystals but you're still incentived to do so
One way they could fix the point issue is making crystal destruction fill up a bar, which when filled opens the boss room. Then, which teams kills their boss first, wins.
I think they gotta raise the point count to dang near 20k in order to actually incentivize fighting the boss over farming points. Which would also probably require more time. Also Rhyme actually saw all the comments about it bein like Gambit.
honestly when i saw the rules, i thought this shit was almost gonna be like a parallel quest where you go through several areas fighting enemies and getting points until you get to the final area with the boss, i do like what we have though

Destiny did it right with their gambit game mode. Build up to a final boss and try to truck it down before the enemy team and you can go to their side to slow them down. They should do something more along those lines with this game mode
I think after the boss spawns in points should reduce by half. But would also be problem is the boss is giant because fighting giant boss would get tiring and repetitive.
For anyone who is playing this mode, If you want to change your Intro emote & win emote go to play data -> cross versus and select your emotes for the intro/win.
If they made it so you had to collect ALL the skills instead of just ultimates (except an awoken for obvious reasons), removed great ape fights, and made it so you HAD to beat the boss to win, i feel like this mode would be WAY better
i have a Cell Max CAC and I realized with the build I have it's perfect for Cross Versus. There's multiple enemies, and you respawn, so combine that with the Namekian buffs + stamina based build, you get an absolute monster of a CAC
i feel like what they need to do is make it more like gambit honestly. In d2 the way it works is you have to fill the bar up all the way (100 points. killing enemies drops motes, more motes for higher tiered combatants you then bank those motes and drop blockers on the enemy teams bank in there map/world) once your team has 100 points you summon the boss and from there you win or lose in a race to kill the boss.
I just want them to go wild. I feel like they play it way to damn safe on these updates. They should give us more what-if characters, like what they had in the Raging Blast games. Hell, even pull from DBH. Ssj4 Gohan, adult Gotenks, Golden Cooler, etc. They need to do more out of the box updates.
So i feel like if they cap the points that can be made, and make it to where someone HAS to beat their boss to finish, that'd be perfect. But i can see that taking a long time, so maybe they just make it to where the points don't end the game, but after the time limit runs out, if both bosses are still up, then the team with the most points win. That makes it to where one person should be fighting the boss, one person gate keeps, and the other person can do rocks, help with boss or help with gate keeping.
to add onto this, 2 people fight boss one person gate keeps on both teams. you stalemate each other, now you have to think, one person backs out and grinds out points while the others fight boss. but you're put into a pickle there, that makes it more likely someone will kill the boss while you're farming points, cuz it's effectively 3v2. Or maybe you're still being stalemated so someone needs to do rocks on both teams. A constantly rotation of trying to find the most effective way to win.
This is exactly like Superhuman Battlefield. Almost a complete replica. That’s so awesome!! I do think that you shouldn’t win by grinding. You should be able to grind all of the points, win conditions should be either beating your boss or defeating the opposing team. That would be perfect! Btw everyone should read superhuman battlefield to see what il talking about. It’s a great Manhwa
honestly its a simple solution to make it so its fair and balanced is all you have to do is get a set number of points and then it sends you to the boss arena and once that happens first team to finish their boss wins
The mode is fun, I really wish they would make it so the Boss is mandatory for a Win. It makes half the mode pointless as interfering with the enemy team's bossfight is definitely one of the most hectic and EXCITING parts that I rarely get to do because... well no one fights the boss. Crystal/Racing are the best source of points and there's no incentive to move on to other activities if you can just win purely off PvE with one person aggro-ing and stalling the ai. Giants are ezpz to take out if you bring moves like Spirit Bomb and Bending Kamehameha which can drain their stamina and do good burst damage respectively. Its fun to see them used again, imo. Vegeta (not-Ape'd) on the other hand has rocked my shit more than any other boss, I don't know what it is but he flips a switch and goes HAM. All in all Cross Versus has singlehandedly revived interest in XV2 for my friends and I and we're having a great time!
If you made this mode where the points allow your team to fight the boss sounds alot more fun to me then the points matter but its just a race to see who can beat the boss first

I disagree about removing points as a win condition. The thing is it's much easier for 2-3 people to defeat Cell or Vegeta than it it to get 6k more points. Plus its a way to not force PvP for anyone who's bad at it.
I think after the boss can be unlocked the point gain from CRYSTALS should be reduced. Saibamen and other crap should still give normal points but crystals should give waaay less
Well this is a neat idea I will give them. The idea that experience isn't how you win but experience + strategy. A good step in the right direction I think. I might actually have to not delete Xenoverse 2 and try it out.
I like the idea of points because if you are losing on points you can fuck up the boss and the big boss isn't that big of a deal as long as you use the right unts
i definitely think its a good game mode it needs some work on it. I agree with seereax's thoughts to not have the points be the win but if its not a win with points make it some type of boost of some kind. Also another note the applejack guy kinda looking like seereax's cac made me laugh a little.

Seeing the Xenoverse 1 lobby again is nostalgic, considering we only ever saw it in Story-Mode once for XV2

CAC lvl doesn't matter in this mode everyone starts at lvl1 and goes to lv7 no matter how your CAC is

Tri-Beam is better for the crystals in my opinion.
i like using photon swipe for them, i feel like it also generally works better for fighting

The one thing that upsets me is after 8 hours of playing Cross Versus, I've seen maybe 2 or 3 people go after the boss, myself included.

Destiny did it right with their gambit game mode. Build up to a final boss and try to truck it down before the enemy team and you can go to their side to slow them down. They should do something more along those lines with this game mode
I think after the boss spawns in points should reduce by half. But would also be problem is the boss is giant because fighting giant boss would get tiring and repetitive.
This is a cool idea for a mode for sure but 100% you shouldn't be able to win by cheesing points you should have to kill the boss to get the win.

For anyone who is playing this mode, If you want to change your Intro emote & win emote go to play data -> cross versus and select your emotes for the intro/win.
They should have just made the charging a core mechanic

If they made it so you had to collect ALL the skills instead of just ultimates (except an awoken for obvious reasons), removed great ape fights, and made it so you HAD to beat the boss to win, i feel like this mode would be WAY better

Good concept but they need to get rid of the crystals, or reduce them in numbers and emphasize the boss characters

i have a Cell Max CAC and I realized with the build I have it's perfect for Cross Versus. There's multiple enemies, and you respawn, so combine that with the Namekian buffs + stamina based build, you get an absolute monster of a CAC

Honestly the Dragon Ball Breakers basic gameplay is good, the problem is the terrible gacha, it not being f2p, and it not having great balancing

i feel like what they need to do is make it more like gambit honestly. In d2 the way it works is you have to fill the bar up all the way (100 points. killing enemies drops motes, more motes for higher tiered combatants you then bank those motes and drop blockers on the enemy teams bank in there map/world) once your team has 100 points you summon the boss and from there you win or lose in a race to kill the boss.
I just want them to go wild. I feel like they play it way to damn safe on these updates. They should give us more what-if characters, like what they had in the Raging Blast games. Hell, even pull from DBH. Ssj4 Gohan, adult Gotenks, Golden Cooler, etc. They need to do more out of the box updates.
For people who don't know in the first stage of the ui transformation if someone hits you, you automatically do a counter attack

Exactly! I think they just want any skill level to be able to play but it’s just way too cheesable if you avoid the boss

Cross versus is fine, but i'd like more rewards and maybe more methods of getting points, maybe make the point requirement bigger
So i feel like if they cap the points that can be made, and make it to where someone HAS to beat their boss to finish, that'd be perfect. But i can see that taking a long time, so maybe they just make it to where the points don't end the game, but after the time limit runs out, if both bosses are still up, then the team with the most points win. That makes it to where one person should be fighting the boss, one person gate keeps, and the other person can do rocks, help with boss or help with gate keeping.
to add onto this, 2 people fight boss one person gate keeps on both teams. you stalemate each other, now you have to think, one person backs out and grinds out points while the others fight boss. but you're put into a pickle there, that makes it more likely someone will kill the boss while you're farming points, cuz it's effectively 3v2. Or maybe you're still being stalemated so someone needs to do rocks on both teams. A constantly rotation of trying to find the most effective way to win.
This is exactly like Superhuman Battlefield. Almost a complete replica. That’s so awesome!! I do think that you shouldn’t win by grinding. You should be able to grind all of the points, win conditions should be either beating your boss or defeating the opposing team. That would be perfect! Btw everyone should read superhuman battlefield to see what il talking about. It’s a great Manhwa

honestly its a simple solution to make it so its fair and balanced is all you have to do is get a set number of points and then it sends you to the boss arena and once that happens first team to finish their boss wins
The mode is fun, I really wish they would make it so the Boss is mandatory for a Win. It makes half the mode pointless as interfering with the enemy team's bossfight is definitely one of the most hectic and EXCITING parts that I rarely get to do because... well no one fights the boss. Crystal/Racing are the best source of points and there's no incentive to move on to other activities if you can just win purely off PvE with one person aggro-ing and stalling the ai.
Giants are ezpz to take out if you bring moves like Spirit Bomb and Bending Kamehameha which can drain their stamina and do good burst damage respectively. Its fun to see them used again, imo.
Vegeta (not-Ape'd) on the other hand has rocked my shit more than any other boss, I don't know what it is but he flips a switch and goes HAM. All in all Cross Versus has singlehandedly revived interest in XV2 for my friends and I and we're having a great time!
Why would they make the main purpose of the mode….optional? That makes no sense!
the UI takes away stamina which is way you need to look out for that when dodging. And I agree, it shouldn't take away your ki when you transform

If you made this mode where the points allow your team to fight the boss sounds alot more fun to me then the points matter but its just a race to see who can beat the boss first

Boss health should be prioritized over point totals. So if one team goes for the boss, that other has to as well
I disagree about removing points as a win condition. The thing is it's much easier for 2-3 people to defeat Cell or Vegeta than it it to get 6k more points. Plus its a way to not force PvP for anyone who's bad at it.
I think after the boss can be unlocked the point gain from CRYSTALS should be reduced. Saibamen and other crap should still give normal points but crystals should give waaay less
Well this is a neat idea I will give them. The idea that experience isn't how you win but experience + strategy. A good step in the right direction I think. I might actually have to not delete Xenoverse 2 and try it out.

I like the idea of points because if you are losing on points you can fuck up the boss and the big boss isn't that big of a deal as long as you use the right unts
i definitely think its a good game mode it needs some work on it. I agree with seereax's thoughts to not have the points be the win but if its not a win with points make it some type of boost of some kind. Also another note the applejack guy kinda looking like seereax's cac made me laugh a little.
