We are living rough right now. A renovated camper with no running water and buckets for, well, everything! They did just dig a hole here for us to have an outhouse. I like your water set up.

We may try renovating a camper for off grid living as well. Living rough really makes you appreciate the simple pleasures of modern life.(running hot water!)

Very smart to air bnb!!! Sure it's gonna be hard at first, but, it should end up really helping you guys, I'm excited for you all and subscribed now.

Thank you for the sub! It has worked out amazingly. I wouldn't say it was hard at first just took a while to get the routine of setting up and turn over. Now it's just like clockwork.

I want to tell you this for future reference. To remove stumps easily, without help, cut stumps as short as practical, then cover with buckets and/or anchor black plastic around them, not so much to keep out oxygen, but to trap moisture rising from the ground that would otherwise have evaporated into the air. In 6 or so months the stumps will have turned into a gray mush that could be eaten with a spoon.

Nice! Thank you for the tip. Where did you learn this nifty idea! 💡

I also made a concerted effort to get a lot of my delayed projects completed right before selling my yurt. - - - As Saint Coemgen points out, not making them a priority for ourselves, but doing so for others.

Yes for sure and we are procrastinators and work best with a little pressure.

    Many updates.
Question is: If you had added all those updates when you first moved in, may your yurt life had been different? And would you be B&Bing now, or simply enjoying your yurt more?
I ask, as we have had some similar experiences, not upgrading our life standard for ourselves, but willing do so for others --- and it is even a traditional saying: the shoemaker's children go barefoot.

Good point. I do love our yurt, even with out the upgrades. I think we are just ready for a different adventure at this time. Teenagers and ready to travel. Just need the funds....I love that we kept it and can always choose to stop renting it out at any point also.

Where do you go when you rent the yurt out? Is the place you go free for you? Otherwise I don't understand how you would make money.

Free! Otherwise your right, it wouldn't make sense. We are thinking of getting a camper and put it on the property so we don't have to go too far.
