    Hey thank you for this amazing instructional video! A suggestion for the tongue exercises when you stick it out for the stretch would be to advise your viewers to place a pen or pencil underneath the tongue to bridge it... it gives the tongue a really nice stretch and a good idea of how it should feel when you're doing it correctly! However, only a suggestion guys! The video is very helpful regardless! Thank you so much!

    For me, the tongue tip is touching the back of the front (bottom teeth), and the wide flat top part of the middle of the tongue is touching the roof of the mouth, and my mouth is closed. If I'm leaving everything hanging and relaxed, then my jaw will drop some and so my tongue won't be touching the roof of the mouth.

    I've been doing this similar exercise (very simple ones) each morning or just before speaking English so as to pronounce clearly but never knew it actually was for relaxing muscles and that there are various methods to practice with. Thanks for this video. Very helpful!

    How to relax the back of the tongue ?

    • @rachelsenglish
      @rachelsenglish  4 роки тому +1

      Stretching the tongue and actually massaging the tongue can help with this. Also, visualization, breathe and imagine the back of your tongue letting go, relaxing, softening. Also, relaxing your throat can really help you relax the back of your tongue - it's all connected!

    • @rachelsenglish

      Ha! No! Take it easy and don't push yourself too far too quickly. You may need to ease into these exercises. They may feel a bit uncomfortable, but vomiting is definitely not a part of the warm-up. :) Thanks for the comment!
