I think people with over 500 points are generally people we want to stay in our country- they're educated and young. However, as you go lower in the score, more and more people don't really have much to offer Canada. They're not a good proposition for Canadians.
And what about the people who come directly as pr from india,having fake degrees and fake experiences,and have more than 500 points.I know many of them getting pr with family.Atleast international students have real work experience and study

Solution is that everybody should go back after studies, work permit, visitors and for PR it should be allowed to apply only from home country,, not from within Canada.

Current govt has made a mess of the immigration system. Govt should stop immigration until the housing market and infrastructure is ready to absorb new immigrants. Canada was a much better country under previous harper govt. Temporary residents should also understand that immigration policy is fluid and they should respect the rules and regulations of this country. They are welcome to stay and live here if they qualify under current rules, if they don’t, then they should leave peacefully. Student permit is not a guarantee for permanent residence.
Yes , all fingers should be pointing towards government policies , and citizen Punjabi should oppose the current govt for exploiting the students .

Why Canadian citizens are opposing International students. There are few reasons. 1. Some bad students have created bad image of all students. These bad students do not pay rent, do high music drink parties till late night in rental homes, and do not follow peaceful and respectful Canadian system. 2. Students should understand that voting right to elect govt is for Canadian Citizens only, student do not have vote right, so when Canadian Citizens inform govt about bad student problems then govt hears them and trying to fix this problem. 3. Govt is increasing population but did not increase enough jobs, did not create infrastructure for increased population.
when i was student and used to work under punjabi employer, his kids were canadian born . they were never used to come to do summer jobs in their own store

Students should be given a fair opportunity. The vast majority of students, 99%, are diligent and hardworking, and they deserve it. I came to this country as a permanent resident from India and have not faced the same struggles they do. I also have two sons, and I believe they are competitive enough to secure jobs on their own, so students are not a threat to their employment. If someone else is getting the job you want, focus on improving your own skills rather than blaming others.
They should not be allowed. Whoever is deserving will get PR eventually. When yhey come over here by taking diploma of businesses then what they expect? 🛑
International students took over all the seasonal and full time jobs,those people who are here for last 30 to 40 years their kids who are born and raised in canada ,they can't find part time and seasonal work because so called these International students, they're working every where two ,two jobs, they are in canada only and only to work and get PR, we don't need more labour in canada we need trade and skill workers,and honest people, sorry to say majorly of them dishonest, corrupted and liars,justin trudeau is the worst prime minister in Canadian history, he has to go,most of the Canadians feels he is incompetent, does not deserve to be prime minister

Since 2020, international students have been flocking to a educational system that many Canadians now feel was used (by many of them) as a loophole-to-immigration. Students utilizing schooling as a back-door (not front-door) ticket to living in Canada. Swarming a 50+ year tradition/system that was not not NOT designed to be about EVERY international student expecting Permanent Residency ... plus it was not designed to be primarily about students expecting lengthy work permits (& spouse permits). Canadians have clued in that Canada's post secondary education system has (in 4 years time) turned into what many are now jokingly calling EDUGRATION. Plus 'edugration' (public or private) was NEVER approved by everyday Canadians.
Plus what about Ghost Consulting that Canada told India to halt? Canadians want the $ greedy agents in other countries to stop MARKETING & LYING to their own people about access to PR or citizenship … or accommodation/jobs … in places like Canada being relatively easy (to get). And for any people living in western countries to be ashamed of themselves if they're getting greedy too. Anyone doing things to make $ off of people's PR desires. At best, there is a 25% chance of gaining PR (better odds if you are masters/medicine etc.).
Are most international students truly scholars who came to Canada with enough $ to support themselves while STUDYING like they are supposed to? Or more-so economic migrants, who BORROWED $ to buy their way closer to the head of the immigration line? To say all the students or their consultants back home have not been at times 'gaming' Canada's education programs to gain western PR or $ is ridiculous. Students have contributed to Canada's housing CRISIS because 97% came-to-stay … not just visit with their temporary STUDY permit. This extreme NEVER existed at schools 4+ years ago.
What about the IELTS spouses? Anchor babies? Fraud? False asylum claims? What about Canadian food banks & charity services being recklessly advertised on YT in Indian languages? What about Canadian housing being scooped up en-mass as investment vehicles by/for internationals? What about home rental/boarding signs stating "vegetarians only can apply"? What about some Indian nationals buying local businesses then putting Indians only in the key positions while also drastically changing work practices that include working longer hours for less $ and at times The Caste System? Canadians are worried due to witnessing these things firsthand more & more often. Even in small towns.
Then throw in the Sikh vs Hindu violence/extortions across Canada. Diasporas stirring up tribal hatreds (in Canada) … even though it all stems from their ancestral home. How can peace be found anywhere with this in play? Plus the Canadian government recently launched investigations in regards to foreign interference in Canadian elections. All stemming from Asia continent.
Canadians are so so so not used to all this. So many, who have embraced multi-culturalism and immigration for decades are now VERY worried and fearful. All are praying it doesn't turn into great anger. Canadians want multi-culturism to succeed and for all people (including immigrants) to be okay. Everyone I know is VERY happy with IRCC's recent changes (reductions & multifaceted investigations etc.). Including multi-generational long-term Asian-Canadians where many have been the MOST upset (by all of this).
Canadians are aware that some great students are going through hell. And know Canada is partially to blame which hurts Canadian hearts. But bottom-line, Canada decides what needs to be done in Canada. Do you see Canadians protesting in other countries (that is not their own) making demands for themselves? No. Do Canadians now see primarily South Asians protesting in Canada, making demands (due to IRCC pumping it's immigration brakes because it REALLY HAS TO)? Yes.
If 36,000,000 Canadians travelled to India, since 2020, with the primary goal of being able to stay there permanently, that would raise India's population by 2.65%. Recent asylum seekers crossing into Canada… and especially international students... have raised Canada's population higher than 2.65%.
Changes (& deportations) are occurring in 2024, for HUGE reasons. In Canada, UK, Australia, USA, and other western countries too.
PS: Did international students and their families pay into Canadian taxes ALL their lives like domestic students have (so they can pay cheaper tuition fees)? No.
Did Canada force internationals to move to Canada as a student? No.
Did Canada promise/guarantee PR? Or a job? No & no.
Yet do specific students only blame Canada when they can't get PR????

Lot of people were on the front lines and working so stop with the narrative that somehow the students "saved" the economy. You think all the nurses/doctors working on front lines were students??
I have a lot of empathy for students who were taken advantage of by immigration consultants who sold them a false lie, but there is also blame and accountability students need to take as well because they should have understood all requirements before signing everything. You can't make dumb decisions and then not expect the face repercussions. That's not how it works.

If the issue of international students ( not really students) is handled with this kind of aggression and protests and this country is flooded with immigrants in huge numbers then this country will soon be ruined. None wants to address the rights of Canadians born and raised here for generations. This is setting the stage for a disastrous conflict. When illegal immigrants enter India, there is so much anger but we are happy to flood another country and lower its standards and systems thru sheer numbers, corruption and non assimilation.

Most of punjabis went there with an intention to settle there permanently otherwise who will pay 35 lacks for a low grade canadian education . Earlier most of people use to come through illegal means like donkey , inter-family marraiges , fake documents etc .

@@Jatt.91 bhaiji, If the student scored A+ in all courses and gets a NOC code based job he will get a PR. Just because someone came as a student to Canada cannot be given preference compared to superiors skilled express entry candidates. Canada needs to stop accepting students for diplomas altogether internationally. Only universities master and PhD students should be taken. If they score top marks I have no issues if they are granted PR based on PNP. No connectiion to name age race etc. just skill and talent. These are not school students who have been mislead.

Temporary residents have no right to demand anything from the government. Canadian government has right to look after interests of Canadians. Immigration policy is fluid and based on needs of this country. Anyone who qualifies with current needs and policy is welcome to stay and rest should leave peacefully.

India's GDP is actually increasing at a much higher rate than Canada's. If study is better in India, then why not stay in India and start a business there? Or move to a big city and look for employment?

I am not the international student but I would say Canadian Economy would crash without bringing international students and immigrants. Fees from International students is the 5th largest source of income to Canada, International students contribute more than 22 % in the Canadian Economy. Canadian universities get more funds from international students than funding from the Canadian Govt. Those local canadians who say their kids are unable to get jobs because of international students, seriously see the skills of your kids who can not even compete with the international students even after born and studying in Canada. Those who think local canadians are unable to get admission in universities due to international students, these so called universities are in good condition just because of international students, if these universities do not give admission to international students there financials would crash. Thank God, thank the international students and parents of international students who afford to send their kids to a foreign country for study. Most of you- Canadians cannot even afford to send their kids to even a private school in Canada, cannot even dream about sending them to a foreign university . Palle Na Thela, Karde Mela Mela!
