I'm Armenian and was born and raised in Calcutta.I was 21 yrs old when I came to Chicago, Illinois to become a western Opera Singer. I rode those trams on Chowringhee and lived on Free School Street near the Fire Brigade Station and an Ice Factory. It was never this hectic, the population has exploded quite a bit. Me and my mom rode in those "Rickshaws" and my mom used to haggle to pay the rickshaw.pullers. Those guys ran with the rickshaw in tow bare-feet on those asphalt streets. OMFG
Hi there, my name is David Geragoosian. I too went to the Armenian college in Kolkata India for 10 1/2 years I accidentally found you on UA-cam if you’re interested please give me a call we can get to know each other and talk I live in Arizona. My number is 480-634-0911. I look Forward to hearing from you! David
I have never seen this much busy city. I live in Ahmedabad and I have not seen people so much busy . Awesome blood running in Kolkata people. I am thriving to visit this magnificent city.
Kolkata is not for everyone. I was born in Kolkata now I reside in London but iam always thinking about Kolkata. Regardless of the noise, the pollution, the traffic. Kolkata is for us and we are for Kolkata
Calcutta is the loveliest place on earth to live...the warmth and the love that one gets at this place is something that is unique to itself. Not to mention, its a paradise for the foodies!!! The very sight of the engineering marvel called the Howrah Bridge...it brings out such a nice feeling within you...
Life is hectic in Kolkata. I have been and experienced it. It takes time to adapt to the city. It is completely different way of life from where I live in the UK. I visit the city as my relatives live their.
Kolkata is a city bursting with life.I really enjoyed visiting Kolkata early this year.I ate at a good restaurant and went shopping. If I had time, I would have visited the museums and Victoria memorial. The local are very friendly. I love the atmosphere and some of the beautiful settings.
I heard that taxi drivers in the largest Indian cities suffer from hearing impairment to nearly 100% after a few years in their job, because their ear just can't take the volume of up to 100 db all day long. I don't know if that's a fact. Anyway, this is the exact opposite of the place where I live, in Germany. Some pedestrians even wait for the traffic light to turn to green when it's dark at 3am and not one single car is around.
Excessive noise from motor vehicle honking is a nuisance in larger Indian cities and much of it is, in my opinion, quite unnecessary. It's a health hazard.
Thank you for your wise counsel. But please note that India has not invented automobiles, only manufactured them much much later than the west. Thank you.

I might ask what is the purpose of any video. Excess noise is unfortunately an integral part of central Kolkata (and most of it unnecessary and easily avoidable - here I am referring to the vehicle honking) and quite impossible to avoid.
Lol as a US Indian who's visited Calcutta a few times, I can guarantee you it's not as pleasant or idealistic as it looks. It's hot, mosquitos are everywhere and extremely noisy.
Forget the air pollution.. this is too much noise pollution, its headache inducing. They should impose a horn honking fine like in nyc. It would be much more peaceful.
There's probably businesses there that sell horns only, just a huge horn superstore. Horns R us. The honking loses all meaning when it's overused incessantly like this, honking in these places is meaningless.
This video is very helpful in bluffing friends that I am on the way, while really I am still in bed 😂😂
Absolutely right bro😂😂😂😂
I'm doing it right now !

Getting to sleep at night is a problem.
But why get to sleep at night when you're in Kolkata?
Before inventing cars they should have created more roads and discipline. People have to form a human chain to cross the road.
Thank you for your wise counsel. But please note that India has not invented automobiles, only manufactured them much much later than the west. Thank you.
Blessings and love from Canada. I was born Calcutta India 1943.
Oh, then you're our very own; you've every right to speak about the ills of Kolkata as much as we have. Thank you.
The video was good.really enjoyed watching it.

What's the purpose of this video showing the busiest part of the city during the office hours?
I might ask what is the purpose of any video. Excess noise is unfortunately an integral part of central Kolkata (and most of it unnecessary and easily avoidable - here I am referring to the vehicle honking) and quite impossible to avoid.
indiavideo will this video be able to stop all these cacophony?

+Shawn Wolf Please come and live in Calcutta for a year, and you may feel very differently
Lol as a US Indian who's visited Calcutta a few times, I can guarantee you it's not as pleasant or idealistic as it looks. It's hot, mosquitos are everywhere and extremely noisy.

Horns must be removed from cars in India.
এটা কোন জায়গা............হাওড়ার বাস দেখলাম মনে হল যেন.........
Forget the air pollution.. this is too much noise pollution, its headache inducing. They should impose a horn honking fine like in nyc. It would be much more peaceful.
Very nice i like noise
This is literally thousand times better than Dhaka - the biggest slum of south asia
by north indians, i mean all of india except south india, kolkata, bihar, assam, etc
Looks like they are still living in the 1970s
Nothing has changed
