Thank you for making these videos, you have no clue how helpful it is to hear anecdotes from another person who has been through similar experiences and to see you dealing with it well and continuing on. The way you explain what happens to you is exactly the same as what I experience and I’ve never been able to explain it. But this word for word matches my same experience during a high that has happened a handful of times with each one getting worse. It has started to leak into my day to day life which has led to anxiety and panic attacks and I’ve never been diagnosed but hearing someone with similar experiences and triggers is actually very comforting. I stay away from anything mind altering now and that seems to help

Thanks for the nice comment. I am sorry you are experiencing this, but I am also glad you are already gaining insight into what you experience. My intention with this channel is to shine light on these experiences and be a resource to someone looking for answers or hope. Schizophrenia had sent me to a dark place where I felt hopeless, and saw no way out. Now that I am in a stable place I want to share with people methods that worked for me, in hopes that they would work for others that experience what we do.
Comments like yours give me motivation to continue to do this. Thank you once again.

Thank you for posting this. My family is also predisposed to mental disorders, and it wasn’t until I quit that I found out my two other half brothers (whom I have no contact with) had been admitted to a mental hospital for weed induced schizophrenia. It’s no joke, it’s all accurate and scary to go though. I was paranoid beyond my control and if I didn’t stop I think my state would have been permanently altered.

It s tough and effects people differently. The goal is to raise awareness and inform people to be cautious when indulging in things, that though seem safe might not be. Thank you for the comment

I really love this channel -- it really makes me feel seen and offers a lot of positivity to more forward. I think that in past lives -- we would be Shamaans and visualizers of our communities. Like -- especially knowing the serenity that comes with nature.
I often read a quote (I come from an immigrant family that just worked so hard to be here) and it's -- "They will pathologize the pain I’ve inherited as merely anxiety, depression, bipolar rather than the remnants and continuation of state-sponsored violence and expulsion."
    Love is so radical.

Marijuana was great for a few months, but then I started getting super paranoid. I also thought everyone I know was out to get me. It's unfortunate that all my friends seem to be able to have a good time, I may need to accept the sober life

    • @lettersfromschizophrenia
      @lettersfromschizophrenia  Рік тому +1

That is the case with me as well. My friends are able to use marijuana, but I cannot anymore so I just stay away from it. I can still hang out with them just not take part.
Hope it goes well for you!

It is honestly hit or miss with mental health. It can absolutely help some people with psych issues, but make them worse in someone else. Case in point: anxiety. This is why if you have the option to talk to a doctor about a prescription, do so. Different strains can affect people differently. I cannot smoke some strains because they make my anxiety worse. I smoke for physical pain but have anxiety, so I don’t smoke if I’ve had a panic attack that day, even if I’m in a ton of pain.

Hi, thank you for sharing your experience. I have my family member who is suffering from this illness for last 8 years. I strongly believe marijuana is big part of it as well.
I think you are doing so well and working hard to find the ways to cope.
I read a book called AN AMAZING JOURNEY INTO THE PSYCHOTIC MIND - BREAKING THE SPELL OF THE IVORY TOWER by Jerry Marzinsky and Sherry Swiney a few years ago. Have you read it? Jerry has website and UA-cam videos which I found very interesting. If you haven’t, I thought you might get benefit out of those.

My search for the cure or cause is never end. Unfortunately he is not corporative and getting worse every episode…
One more author who talks about this subject is William J. Baldwin, Ph.D.
I read one of his book and I am waiting for his book called “SPIRIT RELEASEMENT THERAPY”. I am not religious person to start with however I’m learning how to pray from PRAYERS THAT ROUT DEMONS.
It shows how desperate I am and I realized so many people going through similar things. I think it’s great that you are so aware about what happened to you and sharing your journey. Many people will get benefit from it.

The conviction of some people that weed consumption does not lead to psychotic disorders is something I cannot deal with calmly.
Motherf#ckah, you are effing up your brain chemical balance!

Yeah, but my brain's chemical balance was f#cked up before I started smoking weed, that's why I started in the first place.

@@gianfranco_maldetto_92 I'm sure it contributed, but I don't think it would've gotten me if my father weren't bipolar and I didn't have a family history of schizophrenia on my mother's side. Honestly, the childhood emotional neglect and (mostly) verbal abuse probably helped too and my first real break happened after my long term partner dumped me via text and blocked me on everything. I'm pretty sure I was screwed either way, but I'll agree the weed probably made it happen faster than it otherwise would have.

Is going to support groups helpful to tackle schizophrenia?

I think it depends on where you are in your journey back to reality. For me I had to first get ok with being alone first and then group helped. Meds helped me be ok alone as well.

Not necessarily if you been smoking for years everyday and stop your mind is Going to crave it so you will be moody because your so used to being high also you won't have an appetite but for me personally when I stopped all that went away in 2-3 weeks I was back to normal

I belive schizophrenia have a strong connection with cannabis. In my family i don't know someone with mental problems. I had start smoking marijuanna at 16, i smoked also etnobotanics which are more more strong than cannabis, and i'm the only person in my family with mental problems.. i'm sure it's from drugs..

Be self dependent not drug or medication dependant and embrace the come down i bet it will be worse until your clean which is when the come down end and is also why i prefer THC to medication i feel like its lighter in mass compared to the medication you can be prescribed your fear will 199% increase on the come down on any drug or alcohol because brain activity or specifically synaptic transfer activity increases in speed basically your brain needs a copper stopping the brain to get license registration etc and if you get taken home then you were just going far to fast for your safety and everyone else you do police yourself its instinctive if a police officer saw the entire story the way you did even their subconscious would be supporting you or they'd be speeding themselves and starting the journey of going home

? I took a bunch of weed and it sent me into a really bad psychotic episode. I’m not sure why you think that’s not possible. There are plenty of studies on it.
