Why take line 7, you can just take line 22 to get to Panyu Square easily

Wow line 7 has negative stations like 7, -1. When will they change it to positive numbers?

Short Answer: Never
Explanation: In China, well I guess in Guangzhou, they open lines every year. Line 7 ORIGINALLY went from Guangzhou South Railway Station to Higher Education Mega Center South (UNI City South). Then they decided to expand southwards to Meidi Dadao (Meidi Ave), which is further than 7 | 01 so in order to not waste the paper on the platform doors of the existing stations (7 | 01, 7 | 02, etc) for new ones (7 | 08, 7 | 09, etc) They decided to put NEGATIVE numbers to do it the quickest way possible. Note that there are some planned cases in the future (2025) that changes the numbers because of the switch of the Line 3 Branch from Tiyu Xilu (Sports West Road) to Tianhe Coach Terminal. Also there is going to be negative numbers from the Panyu Square to Haibang Extension of the Line 3 to connct it to Line 4. So instead of ending 3 | 30 at Airport North, it will end as 3 | 25 for this special case.

@@davidtechnocanal5889 But Guangfo line manage to extend the line more south and not have negative stations. If I remembered correctly, Kuiqi Lu used to be the first station in Guangfo line, now Xincheng Dong is the first station and it says GF 01 rather than GF -04, and Kuiqi Lu says GF05 now. So if Guangfo Line manages to do that, wouldn't line 7 be able to do that as well?

@@davidtechnocanal5889 Yeah I've heard that in the future, the stations between Tiyu Xilu to Tianhe Coach Terminal will be stations on the new line 10, and line 10 will add extra stations to connect with the other line 3 stations we have now

@@ninjapirate123 So for that, the codes were introduced in 2019, way after that tram opened. Check Chinese Wikipedia info from any station and compare 2018 vs 2019.

In China they barely use any banknotes. Also I will recommend going to China this December, as Line 11 and Eastern Extension of Line 3 will open to the public.
