Harriet Tubman. Won't free my enslaved brethren? Fine. I'll do it myself. Also, the parents that came up with Lorenzo oil to save their kid. They had a movie done on their story.

Since today is Anzac day in Australia 🇦🇺 I feel like the one 'Fine I'll do it myself' would have to be Simon and his Donkey, no would carry medical supplies to the wounded soilders so Simon (Australian army medic) grabbed a random donkey and used that to transport wounded soilders back to base and have his donkey carry the medical supplies

The real harrowing thing about the plane crash story is that those people only survived because they ate dead people. They made a movie about it, based not on the book by Nando Parrado, but based on Alive: The Story of the Andes Survivors. That book came out two years after the event ( 1974 )and told the stories of the survivors. Nando’s book came out in 2006. The movie came out in 1993.

I like hearing stories of the bad ass Canadians in war because a lot of the times if nobody else can do it all you have to do is send the Canadians in and it will be done within an hour and made it look so easy. everybody else it took like months or days before they gave up. not for a lack of trying, but sometimes most Canadians just don’t give a gigantic fuck about anything. They what it done and they want it done now. When Canadians get there scary face on it’s best to run.

Not something amazing as the one in the video, but regarding the history of Mexico i would say the case of Pipila (that being a nickname and not the actual name).
He was a miner over 40yo at the time the independence war started in 1810. At the second month of the war the troops were trying to seize a city in which the army planted itself on a fort.
Pipila placed a huge stone on his back and walked safe of shooting in order to burn the entrance of the fort.
That victory led to word being spread and other 2 cities just giving up

Nintendo had its own moment, however. Following the video game crash of the 1980s, Atari, once a home gaming console giant but now falling on financial hard times, got word that the Nintendo company, which at the time was best known for its software like "Donkey Kong" and "Mario Bros.", had some success with a new gaming console called the Famicom in Japan and they figured they could sell it to help their own company bounce back. Yet on the day they were to meet to hash out the details, Atari made the discovery that Nintendo had licensed home console versions of "Donkey Kong" to competitors and not exclusively to Atari. Atari, supposedly wanting to teach Nintendo a lesson for messing with the biggest game company in the world, cancelled the deal outright.
Nintendo then decided to release the Famicom in the USA themselves under a different title: the Nintendo Entertainment System, or NES. That console revitalized the video game industry and began the death of Atari as a home console company.

Personally I believe Consoles are holding gaming back by having weird, obscure architecture that Game developers have to account for and have completely different versions of the same game for. A "Console" should just be a standardized PC at this point, allowing Game Developers to have a single version of the game and allow for them to optimize for a set minimum requirement, aka "Consoles" and also to prevent Console exclusive titles. Why should people be forced to buy a completely different machine to play one game? That's capitalism run amok and disrespectful to the player base.
