    Slovenians sure like Luka Doncic. It’s obvious they’re proud of him. Melanie Trump on the other hand…😂🤔

      I was going to say the same. He’s probably the most popular person in all of Slovenia.

      Luka can be president of Slovenia when he retires from basketball.

      @Hudson810 Why do you think that Slovenians in this video had a favorable view of Luka Doncic, but not when it came to Melania Trump? Do you think it's because politics often creates polarizing views and that people's perceptions of her are tied to Donald Trump, who most people who acknowledge, is a controversial figure?

      @@talkintothemic Easy. It’s not fun to watch Melania Trump standing next to Donald Trump on C-SPAN. On the other hand, it’s fun to watch basketball and cheer for someone who literally scores points for your national team during the FIBA tournament.

    Whether they are Slovenian or Slovakian, their English is better than Melania’s, and she’s been living here for more than 25 years!

      @@talkintothemic I mean, I think that most of the First Ladies are overrated and riding on the successes of their husbands (or in Doug’s case, his wife), parroting their talking points and making meaningless speeches and public appearances for show. I feel like they have an undue amount of respect in the eyes of the people. I’d say that the most egregious examples are Nancy, Jill, Melania and especially Michelle.
      I guess if you wanted to say something good about Melania, you could say that it seems like she really cares for her son, Barron.

    As an American, I agree, many people are woke. It is not the majority of us, the media just makes it seem that way. However, I am embarrassed that my country promotes “pronouns” and “transgender” stuff, I do not support that as well as most of my fellow citizens.

    • @talkintothemic
      @talkintothemic  Рік тому +2

      Thanks for watching! If it’s not the majority of the U.S. who do you think is leading the charge on “pronouns” and “transgenderism”? Do you think there’s any value to the society in talking about such topics?

    • @user-tx9pf9hh9c
      @user-tx9pf9hh9c Рік тому +4

      @Scott Johnston Perhaps you have a different experience than me and many Americans who have raised this as an issue. It may also depend on where you live and the make up of your social circle, but this has become far too prevalent for many Americans.
      For example, many social media accounts give users the options to identify their preferred pronoun. Schools and workplaces (of all sizes) now ask what your preferred pronoun is. It's even in people's email signatures now. In fact, gender pronouns are a part of many new hire training now.
      Furthermore, many applications (for anything) now have multiple gender options: male, female, prefer not to answer, non-binary, etc.
      Again, your experience may be different based on where you live, but talk to someone who lives in a major city like Los Angeles, New York, Chicago or San Francisco and it’s almost impossible to not meet at least one person who doesn’t identify as their birth gender.

      @Scott Johnston Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! Please support the channel by subscribing. As for your comment, @user-tx9pf9hh9c makes a good point. People's experience with preferred pronouns and transgenderism depends a lot based on where they live and with whom they associate. This shows just how large and diverse the U.S. truly is.

    • @calebtravel5629
      @calebtravel5629 Рік тому +2

      @@talkintothemic The people leading the charge on pronouns and transgenderism is the government and media. Before the current government (so 2021) you never really heard much about pronouns or transgender people. Of course you had people who were transgender or used pronouns but it wasn’t nearly as prevalent as it is today. The current government (since 2021) has really pushed both of those topics. I don’t know the exact reason why but it’s likely a mix of the following reasons: for votes, being “progressive”, and dividing people.
      As for the second part of your question, no, I do not think there is value to society in talking about these topics, unless the discussion is how harmful they are. There are thousands of people who have regretted having the surgery to become transgender, yet there are some people who are ok with 5 year olds having this surgery, a permanent surgery that damages your body. Many transgender people and people who support them will lash out and attack people (verbally or physically) if you use there wrong pronoun. Even certain governments such as Canada and Ireland have proposed bills to make it illegal to misgender someone, even unknowingly. People who do not support these people are often called transphobic and are accused of “hate crimes.” These people are also destroying women’s sports and taking away scholarships, records, and awards from them. In my opinion (and many others) this is something that has gone way to far and needs to stop.

      @talkintothemic  Рік тому +1

      Thank you for your detailed response.
      Whatever the topic of conversation, whether it’s about pronouns, transgenderism or something else, let’s hope that we as a society can talk about it with mutual respect in a constructive way that builds up rather than tears down.
