My fist exposure to the Knights Templar was when I was 10, my dad was dying of cancer and would only be around for another year and 5 months. He gave me a book all about knights, and it had a chapter on the crusades and within that chapter was a list of all the orders of knights that fought in the crusades. Wasn't until a few years ago when I encountered a man named Scott Walter blathering on and on about knights templar in America that I learned about all these nutty conspiracies about them. Sorry folks, but the Knights templar where disbanded the night the French King had them arrested for heresy.

A lot of these myths about the Templars comes from the French King who owed them money he didn't want to pay back. So he fabricated claims about them being heretics so he could arrest them all, not have to pay back his loan and seize their property and assets for himself without the pope interfering. This lead to the belief that they had treasure that they smuggled out of France on ships but the reality is, what ever treasure didn't fall into the hands of the French king, was most likely taken by the survivors to Spain who then formed a new order of religious knights. The Templars didn't have ships, what ships they used where loaned to them by other organizations who had ships and those ships shouldn't have been accessible to them on Friday 13th 1307 due to the order for their arrest issued by the French King and supported by the pope.
Hi until these items that are lost at this point, noone can even tell a story beon speculation at this point but maybe one of these days the true story will be know.Ypur like myself having a real good knowledge of known facts about the Templars but alot of missing pages to their story. Good job with all the superstition mountains storys
Really enjoyed episode! Templar’s seem to be everywhere. Still trying to figure out why they would have went to Oak Island! Lol They’ve drilled so many holes that the island should sink.

Templars never came to the western US, no need to. Doubt they came to America at all. They were to busy creating Switzerland and the banking system. They had no need of further treasure as they were few and far between by 1314 and those that made it to now modern day Switzerland escaped with immense wealth. Masons and Templars had nothing to do with one another other than masons building many of their buildings. They were two separate groups. Historically Masons were not Templars or vice a versa. While Templars considered themselves a Masonic order, they had nothing to do with what we consider modern day masons.
@@kppb6844 Since 1983? I have traveled to Spain, Portugal, France, England and many other countries and have read documents from each along with York Rite temple documents dating back several hundreds of years. Also traveled in the middle east. What I found is that while many groups claimed to be part of the Knights Templars order, many were not. They may have supported them, or been affiliated with them in some other manner, but not part of the core group. At its peak there was around 1800 knights, and 22,000 followers who were comprised of administration personal, cooks, stable hands, couriers etc. and initiates. While they did establish many commanderies they were more into fund raising to support the knights activities. Those groups merged into other groups in the early 1300's while some left all together. One just changed its name and continued on. Since the crusades were long over, they were mostly into trade and banking.

You are right it is fascinating history and thank you very much for sharing it..,.
Yeah I’d agree with you on the Templars and the Superstitions. Tht was a really condensed version. Thx for sharing.

They were just suppressed in France they carried on in Spain and Portugal under different names.

That was Great Wayne!!! Thanks for sharing that!!!! Excellent!!!!
Bob may have had a interest in the Templar being out there because they were !
I agree
I suspect there may be a lot of history we will never know.
We can always research and see what’s there. Believe me as soon as you think there’s no more……something else pops up
Thanks Wayne, for the quick tutorial.❤🎉
Why are you crying in the thumbnail? 😂
No idea why he picks what he does. I have no control over it. Sometimes I wonder if it’s meant as a humorous poke at me.
The Oak Island folks strongly believe the Knights Templars buried the treasure there !!!
Well, it will be nice if they ever find something….anything there. I am discounting the chicken bones they found eight sessions ago.
Thanks. I love history.

You might have more of a following for a templars spin off then you think
Frank thinks he is a Templar. One imaginary Templar in the Superstitions is enough for me
Pope Clement V reluctantly dissolved the Knights Templar in 1312.
He suppressed the order. They were never officially dissolved.

Never is a pretty strong word. With how many years of research and study does your "never" come with?

Man your "historical" account is way off. Super butchered and incorrect.
history is written by who owns the pen or pencil or metal wire heheehhe😅
Lol. Well I read actual books and stuff like that. I actually own Bernard’s book and have the books dealing with the Chinon parchments.
So you come in with your eleven words to disparage someone else's research? Where can we see your research online so it also can be critiqued?
