The song takes place on the bus ride to K-12 Sleepaway School. Cry Baby (the character melanie is playing) observes the students around her participating in inappropriate behaviors, such as having sex and smoking marijuana. She attempts to ignore it and shows disgust toward the sexual nature of her classmates while acknowledging that the bus driver knows what is happening and is choosing not to address it. The bus driver is likely a metaphor for the authorities, who see all the wrong things that are happening in the world, but they do nothing to stop them. the whole album/movie shows how school is a condensed version of life we meet a lot of people and personalities that we encounter later on in our adult life and we kind of have to go through the same cycle just to show we’ve learned the lesson, so it’s kind of that mentality as well. melanie writes about dark and deep subjects but sugarcoats them with such lighthearted themes so you have to listen to her with an open mind to really understand the message being conveyed.
Ok this album is a continuation of her first album “cry baby “which goes through cry babies life and her struggles with love and home life and excepting her self .k-13 has a lot of referencses form crybaby and if you wanna get the hole story you could watch cry baby on your own time which goes through order .Also you could watch k-12 scenes and where the song starts your stop then you do a reaction to the music video ? So you can get the hole story cause it’s a lot a lot of things to get
I'm so exited for u to react to Melanie Martinez but every music video from this album is from the movie so you would deffenetly understand the music video way better if u would have seen the movie because in the movie we get to learn things that makes us understand the story line better obv....But I'm really exited for u to do more reactions of her because a lot of her songs almost every single song has an extremely powerful message and they are filled whit metaphors and stuff....for example her song 'orange juice' has such a power full message behind it
@@BeardedReactions that's true, I'm just saying that is how melanie says it. And ya she does look young but also thats the point in K-12 cause shes is highschool, but anyway I'm looking forward to more reactions!
The song and the imagery goes together. It talks about how people will turn a blind eye on teenagers and so melanie’s character hates this and all the foolery that goes on the bus so the video shows all the stuff that teenagers can do for example the kids on the bus smoking weed, having sexual relations, picking on each other, taking off clothes. And she has a distaste for it especially since the driver of the bus is over looking everything. So to summarize CryBaby which is Melanie’s character is tired of the adults turning a blind eye to all the stuff that the teenagers are inappropriately doing.

I have actually done Orange Juice! It was super good!
Okay first of all, Melanie is 25 years old. Also it is pronounced K THROUGH 12. Thank you.
Haha! I think we can pronounce it either way depending on how old we are. But she looks so young lol

That is amazing! Thank you for the explanation!
