Aside from Microsoft showing a car at a games conference, I think both Microsoft and Sony did fine - they showed games, games, and more games, which is what we want. Of course some people are going to come out of that disappointed if they don't get the games they wanted and/or expected to see, or the games weren't their cup of tea. Personally, I still liked Sony's conference more. Especially when the games I liked from Microsoft's conference are pretty much all going to be available on PS4, so in that respect Microsoft failed because they haven't done anything to make me feel like I'm missing out on their product.
For me Sony's show was a big failure just because of my personal preference. Sony doubles down on the kind of games that show well in the format they have chosen for E3, which is "cinematic" games. To me, I have NO desire to play any of those games. I will watch a few on UA-cam like I did Uncharted 4. But I have no desire to pick ups controller and play most of those games. And the big problem was that they all looked like the SAME game.
Mark Davenport You're right, more exciting games is great. I didn't say I disliked Microsoft's conference though - only that for me they failed to achieve what they would want from it, which is for people to want their new console.
I think Microsoft is in a way somewhat contempt to pick up people over time with bundles, a lot of folks bought a Xbox One S around the time of the Battlefield 1 bundle. They got burned hard with the Tomb Raider thing, they got grilled for it, Phil Spencer has spoken about how he learnt from that.
Here's my 2 cents. Perhaps Sony didn't win this E3, but here's the thing. It's really ridiculous for us to expect them to epically blow our minds every year. Sooner or later, the expectations are gonna pile up when someone won't be able to meet or exceed them. That's how it's always been in the video game industry, and even a gaming giant like Sony is no different. Granted, there have been many demands, hopes and dreams only someone like Sony can deliver that could've been in this E3, like Bloodborne II, Shenmue HD, or whatever Shawn Layden was talking about when he said Japanese developers are coming back hard this year and that they'd announcing more games of that vein, and some exclusives like Bloodborne II aren't gonna make it in this case. But even these take time, money and resources. They don't come cheap, because that's how important they are for us. There is still PSX, so I'm still hopeful. I myself can see a few flaws here and there, like those dangling corpses, Destiny 2 and that horrible Skyrim VR. But then again, every E3 has its flaws. No one could ever be flawless. And for those flaws, we got what, a sick new trailer for Uncharted, Monster Hunter on the PS4, the remake no one thought they'd want until they see it in Shadow of the Colossus remake, a solid gameplay trailer for Spider-Man, and that awesome God of War trailer that, just within its 1st 30 seconds, completely sold me on the game's story. I will conclude simply by saying what another comment said in the EZA twitch chat: A bad Sony E3 conference is still a decent one.
Can't agree more, eventually they will have to deliver on their past games that have been announced during E3 15/16. I would rather they do this than keep announcing games that have no release date and went into the abyss ( So the cycle is Announce>Announce>Deliver). Granted we don't see many solid release date but these gameplay trailers show progress. I think we have been a victim of our own expectation.
Hasan Al-Taie Are you joking when you said "whatever Shawn Layden was talking about when he said Japanese developers are coming back hard this year?" Like, you have to be kidding, right? You know Japan has basically owned 2017 so far, don't you?
The line-up they have is crazy good. God of War, Days Gone, Spider Man, The Last of Us 2, Gran Turismo, Uncharted, Detroit, Horizon DLC, Crash Bandicoot. Freaking amazing time to be a PS gamer.
Days Gone looked like a boring cheap TLoU clone but in open world, yawn Spider Man has dumb Batman combat like even the movie-tie in games had, so what's even the point of hiring Insomniac? Gran Turismo can't compete against Project Cars or Forza Uncharted only DLC Detroit looked like pure crap, doesnt even have actual gameplay, just cutscenes and you press a button to make a decision just to watch even more cutscenes And a remake that looks... eh Yup so great
+ BuzzFeed Yellow Days Gone will be the highlight of open world games, brings so many new cool elements it's astounding.(they present everything in an after-conference thing) Spider Man has batman combat because batman combat was critically acclaimed and loved by everyone. Gran Turismo was and will be the king of racing games, the only reason they can't compete is because they don't launch a game every freaking year. Uncharted looks like more uncharted greatness, so if you loved 4 (which many did) they'll probably love this one. Detroit is more love it or hate it, but based on the previous games they made, most people love it. Which is nice. And God of War even though it was already considered amazing, it seems like they've taken an even bigger step forward and are not only doing gameplay but also narrative, which is incredible. So yeah... amazing, not great.
Just caught something fun, at 1:46:29 they all make eyes at each other because they tought it's bloodborne 2 or something alike because of the dark tones, they sort of prepare to get excited :D
The games looked great but people just want "new" at e3 sadly. Must say this is the problem when you announce your games too early. No games for 2017 stings, but plenty to play like always these days
Because E3 is about revealing new great games and surprises while showcasing other upcoming games and content. Lack of new games is in fact a major problem.
tell who came with new games everyone had only like 2 new games. all I know is there are some sweet games coming this way. Nintendo is the same shit all over again and xbox had what forza. or games that I can play on the ps4 or pc. So tell me whats your point.
People talking about a company "winning" E3 are so ignorant it hurts. That is the last thing E3 is about, but for some reason these people feel like they have to take a side just because they don't own the other console, or just because there are two main sides and they feel they are obligated to pick one. That gets me down, especially seeing these people in an EZA comment section where the mantra is Love and Respect. But no, people just keep throwing shade at the other side debating which conference was worse. I enjoyed all the conferences this year and watching with the Allies made them all the more sweeter.
WhammyTime91 totally agree. Lot of great games came from all conferences that I can't wait to play. If a winner needs to be crowned, I'd say it's the consumer. Happy gaming!
Kyle Bosman in 2017 talking about the E3 2016 Sony event: "We probably could have decided 'oh, this is God of War', but I think at the time we weren't quite sure..." Ian Hinck, Ben Moore and Michael Huber watching the E3 2016 Sony event, literally ten seconds after the orchestra starts playing: "God of War. God of War. This is God of War."
Sony having to juggle announcements for PSX and E3 sort of means holding back on one, or evenly distributing excitement between the two. I think we should remind ourselves what a gift it is to have PlayStation hype every 6 months. Sure, I would have liked to have my mind obliterated and my name lost to the ether by the incomprehensibility of the announcements, but the Shadow of the Colossus reveal had me involuntarily bouncing in my seat and crying. That made it worthwhile for me.
I don't get the hate for the QTE's in Spider-man. It's the best Spider-man has looked on screen in ages, and the cinematography and set-pieces make those moments so thrilling. I'm over the moon for this game.
And there's plenty of game in the trailer to satisfy me. This is a short look at a plot-heavy moment in a open world Spider-Man game, and it's not allowed to be cinematic for a bit? Give me a break. Some people are overly pedantic.
So Kyle is super against anything spoiler related when it bothers him, yet he insists here over and over on dropping trademarks that were leaked when everyone keeps asking him not to.
@2:30:54 A scripted gameplay sequence using tons of QTE. This is the reason why I appreciate the design of Breath of the Wild so much. Unlike the design of the Shenmue, Uncharted, God of War or this Spiderman. The design team of Breath of the Wild is able to create epic scripted gameplay sequences without the need of QTE. Like the scripted gameplay sequence outside Vah Ruta in BOTW, instead of using QTE, the design emphasized on item usage (an armor to allow swimming up a waterfall), NPC partnership, the choices of method to destroy ice cube homing missiles or mines, bullet time idea to aid arrows (a special type of arrow that requires to be collected beforehand) shooting together with the emotional music with goosebumps effect. This elegant scripted gameplay design successfully gives the player a very fulfilling experience.
I didn't expect myself to say this but one thing I found lacking was there was almost no talking. There weren't any developers coming out to give juicy details of the game, or tell us why we should get excited. The conference was really short too so I felt like i ate a nibble when I was expecting to stuff myself full. Never less was not a bad conference.
2:01:01 = Miles Morales It was a good Conference wasn't expecting much this year. Because last year 2015 & 16 where awesome and most games where already released. This year was more for the games that will be released next year before E3. So E3 2018 we will see some new line up again. Decent show give it a 8 !
I kind of liked the multiplayer trailer for CoD but I was surprised they didn't have a campaign mission cause they do that for every E3 event but personally I don't get how a lot of people mixed this up with the campaign cause it feels way to chaotic then again world war 2 was pretty hectic but you know what I mean
Ubisoft:Arrows that turn midair, new Black Flag game minus the AC part EA:cringe, cringe, OOoooo Battlefront 2!, cringe Sony:Wanna see some stuff of the things we already showed last time? Xbox:Most powerful console, most barebones lineup.
I think the crew would love Mouseguard. It's an amazingly drawn comic about mice who are essentially in medieval times and fight snakes, crabs etc. They also ride rabbits.
I personally preferred Sony's conference over Microsoft's. It flowed better and they showed games that I genuinely wanted to play. Many only available on PS4. Spider Man in particular looked phenomenal. Sucks to see the Allies be so down on it. Hurt my heart a bit. Also as fans we need to get our hype in check. We can't expect huge surprises every year and constantly speculating about stuff that is far fetched only leads us to disappointment.
I agree that Sony's conference could have been better. But I still think they had the best conference, Ubisoft being a close second. Yes, there were few surprises, bummer. But almost everything they showed was neat. Spiderman, Detroit, God of War, Days Gone, Shadow of the Colossus, Uncharted, all of then were great.
This still gets an 8.8 from me. In terms of what I want from an E3 press conference, it was close to perfect. Just game after game after game after game. All killer and no filler. I'm not going to severely deduct Sony for not exactly showing the stuff that I personally wanted to see. I will concede that it could have been arranged better to maximize the excitement. And while the different stage elements were cheesy and probably didn't need to be shown on stream, they didn't completely derail what was going on. There was no throwing out to a different location to watch poor demos like EA and Ubisoft had. Or doing an extended commercial for a car like MS did. Basically the only real downers for me were the continued cutting to the crowd after every single trailer. I don't need to see journalists looking nonplussed every couple minutes. And I will concede that there was no big wow factor beyond Monster Hunter and Shadow Of The Colossus. I don't understand why they only went an hour, though. There's so many games in the pipeline that you really couldn't crack the whip and ask a few other studios to bring something? But otherwise, it was definitely what I wanted. It might not have been as untouchable as last year was but there's only a few things I can really deduct them for. I don't feel the need to punish them for doing the same show only not nearly as hype.
I feel that each conference came with a different set of expectations. Bethesda and Sony were scored fairly because they were put up against the high standard set by them the past couple years, but EA, Microsoft and Ubisoft were all scored too highly because of lowered expectations the past couple years. Overall, I think Sony had the strongest conference(8/10) followed closely by Ubisoft(7.5/10), and then Microsoft(7/10). Both EA and Bethesda were mediocre(5/10), but would've been worse weren't it for A Way Out and Evil Within/Wolfenstein respectively.
I am so psyched for Spidey (more than any game in years, probably) but have to agree with the guys regarding the QTEs. I really wish there was a tethering mechanic similar to Just Cause 3 in there. That way, when he's running up the crane, players could actually aim and anchor the web to points on the building, as opposed to just hitting a button. It would give a very small amount of agency, granted, but it would feel A LOT less arbitrary.
In true Sony fashion, they showed a bunch of games that will be on every system, and a few exclusives that we already saw the previous year. And in true industry fashion, the community shower them with credit they don't deserve for putting on yet another sub-par show.
The crowd was SO dead. They looked bored. Although I'll be honest, the show didn't do much for me either. It's just I'm not a real fan of Uncharted, GoW or that Zombie game so a lot of the big hitters aren't for me. I love my PS4 for games like Ni No Kuni 2 & Yakuza.. really wish they'd have highlighted those. Oh well. But I am a crazy insane Fumito Ueda fan so I was in tears seeing that beautiful version of Shadow of the Colossus! That made the whole conference for me & I cannot WAIT to play that remake!!
Bit disappointed there was no TLOU2 gameplay; but i still enjoyed the conference. Could have used a little more input from where Sony wants to go etc. But again, for me this and the Devolver conference was the best.
I think it was an great conference not year of dreams of course but better than by a mile from everyone , i think pacing was a little off and crowd was dead but overall great conference!!
Even Spiderman running through the burning building looked like just "run straight, and spam the dodge button and it will automatically dodge whenever something falls." I think they should draw your eyes somehow to each falling piece of debris as it happens, maybe on the right or left side of the screen, so that you at least have to react directionally which way you dodge. And I hope you can't hold down the button or spam it, that there is a fail animation if you mistime it, which will slow you down or mess up your movement for a second allowing the debris to potentially fall on you and kill you or take some of your health. That way it's at least skill based. You either make the timing itself skill based, or you make the dodge directional so the direction aspect of it is skill based. Otherwise you're just running straight forward and spamming dodge to watch the character do cool canned animations within the set piece. How fun is that?
They could draw your eye to the falling debris by changing the color slightly as it falls, like how in the MLB games they tint the baseball a certain color when it's a curve ball (if you turn on that setting) so that you have a way to identify which pitch it is if you react fast enough, since the graphics aren't necessary good enough to show the spin of the ball. At least it wasn't last time I played MLB but that was a few years ago. And they could also have debris fall straight down, so you have to duck under it, or do a dive through. You could have different types of dodges on different buttons, or how long you hold it down, or whatever, and then if you pick the wrong one it won't work out for you. That's how you create fun combat and gameplay in games. Skill. Variety. Forcing the player to utilize good timing and reflexes combined with different combinations. That's why fighting games are so fun even though it's just two fighters in a 2D environment fighting. Because you have to combine the right button combinations and movement with timing and reactions and strategy. That's how any good combat system should be, not just in fighting games. I hope this game delivers but I didn't really see that level of skill based combat/gameplay system. I hope I'm wrong.
UC- 3rd person action Horizon- 3rd person action Days Gone- 3rd person action MonsterHunter-3rd person action Shadow of the Colussus- 3rd person action Spiderman- 3rd person action Detroit- 3rd person "action" (I'm stretching, but still) God of War- 3rd person action
a remaster takes the old assets and improves on them. a remake is built from the ground up. SotC shown at the conference has no assets from the PS2 and PS3 games. its a remake
This conference would've been more impactful for me if they didnt prematurely announce spiderman last year personally. Overall good conference but surprised the nino kuni 2 trailer and a few others weren't on there, maybe could've been slightly better curated
I did not expect to be typing this comment this year, but... I agree with Kinda Funny's assessment WAY more than the EZA crew's. Sony was quality over quantity (MS). Most of what MS showed was multiplat and in no way, shape or form made me want to own an Xbox, let alone a $500 Xbox One X. Sony showed us EXACTLY why we need to own a PS4-true exclusives. And great looking ones at that.
I was left wanting, like you. Looking at the list, the games are phenomenal, but most were yesterdays news. It's like eating Sunday-roast leftovers on Monday, delicious, but you already had them before, you know exactly what you're getting, it's satiating but not terribly exciting. Especially considering the last 2 years, which were phenomenal. I have 2 theories as to why they went this route, because as you have touched upon during the pre-show, Sony has the most stuff. They have the most studios, the most partnerships, the most unannounced projects and the most "wow" potential with many of their flagship studios and close partners confirmed working on games which as of yet have not been announced. I would've bet a lot on at least one of the 3 From Software games being announced prior to this conference, but it didn't happen. Theory 1, Sony bought into the Scorpio hype. The, by now widely considered derailed, Scorpio hype-train has been chugging along for a year. It's possible Sony thought they can't possibly outshine Scorpio so they didn't even try. Had they known Scorpio would fall this flat, perhaps they would've brought a bit more new stuff. Honestly, just a new Soulsborne game after Spiderman would've redeemed the entire thing. Fingers crossed for "Demonborne", the missing link between Demon's Souls and Bloodborne, connecting both games beyond Bloodborne's alpha footage of Father Gascoigne saying "umbasa". Which brings me to theory 2, Seeing how they consistently address criticism, most notably from this conference, the unmistakable marking of the "VR block" of the show and labelling VR games as such, which was a source of confusion for many people last year. I think this is them addressing the criticism of announcing games too early. They've made 2 notable announcements, one was a third party game. Like it or not, that's unfortunately how they had to do it, you can't magically move up release dates but you can postpone announcements and this could be what was happening here. Sony has the biggest catalogue of games, studios and partners as I remarked previously, which also creates the biggest potential for disappointment as someone like Huber can just list 30 potential announcements and hype himself into oblivion thinking about them, without them ever happening. The list of potentials varies from person to person, but the one for Sony's conference is way longer across the board for most people as they have developers from every corner of the world on their side, something for everyone. They also shied away from specific release dates, another criticism they addressed. I'm with Kyle on the stagecraft, unnecessary money-suck. They should've instead made the conference longer and highlight more of the games coming this year during this showing instead of the pre-show. Like GT Sport, that game hasn't gotten much love on the big stage, Knack 2 is still coming this year, they should've shown why people should give this one a shot, according to people who've seen it demoed behind closed doors, the game is great. Ni no Kuni 2 was bumped for whatever reason, maybe Level-5 didn't want to shell out for stage-time, who knows. The point is they had more things to show, even if they weren't new they would've padded the conference, which felt very light.
The conference was missing one big reveal ... one big bomb like Red Dead, RE2, LastofUs2, FF7, FromSoftware game or whatever Suckerpunch is working on Also ... after all they announced only ONE new exclusive (Shadow of the colossus)... was suprised to hear that MH Worlds is multiplat, didn't feel like it to me in the conference demo. They presented it like a exclusive release ... Also after last years live demo of God of War ... why didn't they do that for e.g. MH or Spiderman ...
If you look at the games line up coming, the future is bright. There were just no huge Shenmue/ FF7 Remake level announcements (which I don't mind, since those games are both still a ways off so it's better to just show gameplay of games closer to release)
I felt bummed by the conference feeling lacking, but seeing Yosp in an interview afterwards make it clear they're focusing the megatons for PSX.. I started counting the days until that. Urgh.
I think you guys arnt really fair in this one. There were multiple games that you were stoked about. But you let your expectation run to wild and got to dissapointed that it didnt live up to what you had in mind. What they had to show they showed well. Days gone, God of War, Spiderman, Detroit gone human, Monster hunter are really good. With monster hunter a dream has come true for me. I have wanted this game since I first discovered MH on the PSP. I LOVED the spiderman demo. sure a bit qte heavy but if you look past that and at the swinging session and how good that looks. I love it.
We're getting Ni no Kuni 2 on PS4 this year, that's the sequel of the best JRPG from last gen, exclusive Spiderman, GoW and Days Gone next year and tons other games, not to mention multiplatforms like Assassin's Creed, Destiny, CoD and others. Sony only surprised us with Shadow of the Colossus while everyone was expecting Bloodborne 2. But I'm totally OK with this amazing lineup. Did MS show anything new? They only had one decent looking game "Sea of Thieves" and Ubisoft is releasing their own pirate game on PS4 too.
Guys, I'm going nuts here trying to remember where the hell is the song when Shawn Layden from at 1:12:52 I know the song but I can't seem to remember... Someone please remind me
Silly kyle. A remaster is exactly what it sounds like, a touched up version of a games currently existing assets. A remake is making all new assets from the ground up. It actually doesn't matter if the game itself plays or looks the same or not. And in the case of Crash I think remaster is still pretty accurate, since they directly imported the level geometry from the original trilogy.
I wish people realized that VR doesn't show well in videos. Videos of VR convey as much as screenshots of other games do. Sony honestly does themselves a disservice by showing as much as they do in video-form. They would have done better to have one VR supercut and only show each game for a few seconds. If they want to promote them more, make demos.
This is so annoying. A remaster has historically been used to mean a 'touch up', like Disney releasing an old movie with a filter applied to make it HD (ICO collection, DMC collection, Jak and Daxter Collection). A remake is recreating the assets from scratch (Crash Bandicoot N'sane trilogy, Shadow of the Colossus Remake), and a reboot is a reimagining (Ratchet and Clank PS4, FF7 Remake). If you recreate it, remake. If you change it, reboot. If you touch it up, remaster.
I think people had such high expectations because of psx and e3 2016 and the truth is sony cannot have these huge surprises every year. They can't have a huge announcement until there's at least some progress. That's why they probably didn't show death stranding and last of us because another trailer would actually be pointless now. Or they somehow want to keep all of the good stuff for psx so they can have a full show with good games and big surprises there. I don't really like that because sony e3 2016 was the best conference I've ever watched and I'd like every sony e3 to be like 2016 but on the other hand they've got to have a good psx too so they have to sacrifice something and this year it was e3.
This could have been such a much better conference, but oh well. They dominated last year, I guess they can settle with that (Microsoft dominated this year with Shadow of War)
It was pretty good, but Ubisoft was just incredible. Ubi showed games and the passionate people behind the games. I really don't care for the stage performances at all. The one in Days Gone was really strange...
It was a solid show, not more, not less. I just can't believe they ended the conference with Spiderman. Why is the spiderman game such a huge deal? It's freakin Spiderman, a 900 year old character. I wish they had something new at the end and not Marvelman #945. Still: Uncharted DLC, Days End, God Of War and Detroid are a strong lineup. Still 2: I regret waking up at 3am for this. But I guess you can't have 3 mind blowing e3 conferences in a row.
people gotta remember sony have to split their announcements between e3 and PSX. after the past 2 years of their conferences im not suprised they ran a little out of steam this e3. despite that they were still the best conference this year imo.

That after-credit tease was a Miles Morales reveal for Spider-Man. It was cut, because of the stream.
wow i had no idea - thanks. I guess it was a nice homage to the marvel movies but not a good idea when most are streaming
it was not cut on the youtube stream..

Remaster = updated textures, higher fps, still the same amount of polygons. Remake = built from the ground up.
i love how they all have specific games they get hyped at (ben with monster hunter, huber with god of war, etc.) and the others hype them up even more, it's so wholesome

JazGalaxy God of War, Detroit and Spiderman look like the same game? XD
In a way isn't that better for you? That Microsoft showed off games you could enjoy even not on their system?
Hasan Al-Taie Exactly none of these are "Terrible" it's E3 folks lighten up!
Showing a cryptic trailer for a game 3+ years away is not "winning".
Hasan Al-Taie Here is a announment that was not in the show for some reason gematsu.com/2017/06/locoroco-2-remastered-announced-ps4
i love how bloodworth and damiani seems cool and professional in the background.
The line-up they have is crazy good. God of War, Days Gone, Spider Man, The Last of Us 2, Gran Turismo, Uncharted, Detroit, Horizon DLC, Crash Bandicoot. Freaking amazing time to be a PS gamer.
Days Gone looked like a boring cheap TLoU clone but in open world, yawn
Spider Man has dumb Batman combat like even the movie-tie in games had, so what's even the point of hiring Insomniac?
Gran Turismo can't compete against Project Cars or Forza
Uncharted only DLC
Detroit looked like pure crap, doesnt even have actual gameplay, just cutscenes and you press a button to make a decision just to watch even more cutscenes
And a remake that looks... eh
Yup so great
+ BuzzFeed Yellow
Days Gone will be the highlight of open world games, brings so many new cool elements it's astounding.(they present everything in an after-conference thing)
Spider Man has batman combat because batman combat was critically acclaimed and loved by everyone.
So yeah... amazing, not great.
uncharted "DLC", 8 hour game for 30 bucks, but ye its only "DLC"
UMA DELÍCIA halo ehh gears of war mediocre cuphead gtfo and that's pretty much every xbox exclusive 😂😂
I wish a naruto game was announced by bandai namco called "Naruto x Boruto: Ninja Fighter Duel", Coming In 2018.
Just caught something fun, at 1:46:29 they all make eyes at each other because they tought it's bloodborne 2 or something alike because of the dark tones, they sort of prepare to get excited :D
Sony had a decent showing this year, nothing surprising but still good to see the amazing line up coming.
im in for sure !
The Gent. They killed it 2015 and 2016 this year was alright, still on their side though
Sony is still the best, they still get the best games
well Monster Hunter and Shadow of the Colossus was surprising, but they had a good show
Derek Shook Nintendo won
"The world will finally understand..." I'm with you Ben!!! Im so pumped for this...been dreaming of this for years! Year of dreams babyyyyyyyy
The games looked great but people just want "new" at e3 sadly. Must say this is the problem when you announce your games too early. No games for 2017 stings, but plenty to play like always these days
Lacking new announcements was definitely my problem. They showed less here than at PSX.
Plus they showed way too much good stuff at the Pre Show
Because E3 is about revealing new great games and surprises while showcasing other upcoming games and content. Lack of new games is in fact a major problem.
I feel like we've gotten plenty of great games this year already.
tell who came with new games everyone had only like 2 new games. all I know is there are some sweet games coming this way. Nintendo is the same shit all over again and xbox had what forza. or games that I can play on the ps4 or pc. So tell me whats your point.
Idk if you mentioned it, but the Kid at the end of the Spider-Man trailer was Miles Morales.
WhammyTime91 do you bud ;)
WhammyTime91 totally agree. Lot of great games came from all conferences that I can't wait to play. If a winner needs to be crowned, I'd say it's the consumer. Happy gaming!
Love you guys, but you all are crazy. That Spiderman demo was the best thing I saw at E3.
Easily my most anticipated game of this generation.
Kyle Bosman in 2017 talking about the E3 2016 Sony event: "We probably could have decided 'oh, this is God of War', but I think at the time we weren't quite sure..."
Ian Hinck, Ben Moore and Michael Huber watching the E3 2016 Sony event, literally ten seconds after the orchestra starts playing: "God of War. God of War. This is God of War."
Was awesome to watch this with you.
ryan clements to open the video made me happy. BEYOND
The quality of the Sony show is so much higher than the other ones. Almost NO talk and just games. So much games in fact that I missed the talk :O
watcheem Also while watching it on Twitch live I could barely hear the games talk
Microsoft showed a lot more games, just saying
Good thing he didn't drop the one trademark people actually gave a shit about then.
"4chan is always right" - "rude" Kyle Bosman
@2:30:54
A scripted gameplay sequence using tons of QTE.
2:01:01 = Miles Morales
It was a good Conference wasn't expecting much this year. Because last year 2015 & 16 where awesome and most games where already released. This year was more for the games that will be released next year before E3.
So E3 2018 we will see some new line up again.
Decent show give it a 8 !
I'm so glad Klye decided not to spoil that trade mark. The hype.
Young Knight I was surprised too, I thought will see actual gameplay or demo on stage ..bah !
Ubisoft:Arrows that turn midair, new Black Flag game minus the AC part
EA:cringe, cringe, OOoooo Battlefront 2!, cringe
Sony:Wanna see some stuff of the things we already showed last time?
Xbox:Most powerful console, most barebones lineup.
Pretty accurate actually
It's not a satisfactory E3 until I see Huber cry tears of joy.
I completely agree with Kyle about rumor spoilers. It's their damn job to cover these things.
Vlayer I agree. I was surprised when they scored Microsoft's conference so high.
Vlayer but battlefront 2
I love how Ian DGAF about wearing a tie!
I have to re-watch the past 2 years of dreams to recover from this
Solid 8 for me. People wanted VR support so they showed it.
That bravo team predict, lmao XD
I love that Huber thought Turok when Monster Hunter started up, haha.
I love you guys reaction to shadow of colossus . Had the same reaction
I cannot fucking wait for Spider-Man, I feel like Insomniac is gonna hit it out of the park.
Everyone thought the MvCI trailer was going to transition into DMC5. Fucking Capcom dropping the ball as always.
At the beginning of the conference I seriously thought they were gonna announce a new Suikoden game because of the music lol.
How many if those games had finite release dates? Because almost all of those games seem 7+ months off from releasing.
Azimul Hoque the same games from last year
The crowd was SO dead.
This E3 could have been better but to be fair they announced everything beforehand.
I think Sony also missed showing one of their best exclusives that's only releasing next month "Final Fantasy XII"
UC- 3rd person action
Horizon- 3rd person action
Days Gone- 3rd person action
MonsterHunter-3rd person action
Shadow of the Colussus- 3rd person action
Spiderman- 3rd person action
Detroit- 3rd person "action" (I'm stretching, but still)
God of War- 3rd person action
a remaster takes the old assets and improves on them. a remake is built from the ground up. SotC shown at the conference has no assets from the PS2 and PS3 games.
its a remake
Worth watching cause most of the games come out 2018! Starting soon with Monster Hunter World!
i love this channel and all the guys
56:40 MANAGE THE HYPE
The conference was missing one big reveal ... one big bomb like Red Dead, RE2, LastofUs2, FF7, FromSoftware game or whatever Suckerpunch is working on
Also ... after all they announced only ONE new exclusive (Shadow of the colossus)... was suprised to hear that MH Worlds is multiplat, didn't feel like it to me in the conference demo. They presented it like a exclusive release ...
Also after last years live demo of God of War ... why didn't they do that for e.g. MH or Spiderman ...
You didn't watch the full conference. Many parts are cut out in this video including the final 10 second reveal at the end.
Dank stuff dudes.
If you look at the games line up coming, the future is bright. There were just no huge Shenmue/ FF7 Remake level announcements (which I don't mind, since those games are both still a ways off so it's better to just show gameplay of games closer to release)
The guy in the end is Miles Morales; a big Spider-Man cast
I felt bummed by the conference feeling lacking, but seeing Yosp in an interview afterwards make it clear they're focusing the megatons for PSX.. I started counting the days until that. Urgh.
lol when ben sees something good he turns to look at hubers face
How in the hell does Ian think the Crash Remake looks bad? I think the visuals are amazing. Look at the graphics comparisons.
Not sure if you went back and watched, the teaser at the end was Miles Morales.
Sticks of Fury yeap
Is the person who voices Kratos' son the same one who voices Damian Wayne?
Guys, I'm going nuts here trying to remember where the hell is the song when Shawn Layden from at 1:12:52
I know the song but I can't seem to remember... Someone please remind me
Oh shit, I remembered! It's Mass Effect!
waiting for more excited kojima game Death Stranding,
Thanks guys for sharing this -- love so much
Spiderman looks Rocksteady.
I'll see myself out.
Kyle you are right. FF7 is a remake. When its the same game its a remaster
If you touch it up, remaster.
iconic 7.8
wild theory: the boy isn't Kratos' son, it's Kratos as a child
Alex Grey nah, kratos has always been bald.
peoples sad about this year no more IP came out but they did well this year but not great e3 like last year. but stay good
Pew good thing I didn't watch allie's sony pre show, monster hunter world was the biggest surprise for me
also Sony Press Conference 2016 part 2 was fine.
Watching this again...cause I don't have a life
It was pretty good, but Ubisoft was just incredible. Ubi showed games and the passionate people behind the games.
I really don't care for the stage performances at all. The one in Days Gone was really strange...
redxix88 oh, you mean that cgi for beyond good and evil 2 and no actual gameplay? Awesome!
Does this mean marvel vs cap com infinite has mooks to fight? Like 2d best me up sections?
It was a solid show, not more, not less.
I just can't believe they ended the conference with Spiderman. Why is the spiderman game such a huge deal? It's freakin Spiderman, a 900 year old character. I wish they had something new at the end and not Marvelman #945.
Still:
Uncharted DLC, Days End, God Of War and Detroid are a strong lineup.
Still 2:
