The CPR dummy's name is resesitation Annie and in Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal song when he asks, "Annie are you ok, are you ok Annie?" He got the inspiration for that line because of the line the teach in CPR classes to ask "Annie are you ok?" If no response CPR is administered. Just a little factoid that I found interesting when I learned the origin of the CPR dummy's name

For anyone who remembers 1981, when mortgage interest rates were higher than 16%, saying interest rates today are sky high is a stretch
It’s good to remember nothing last forever, no interest/ low interest periods as well as high interest periods

When I was born, in July of 1976, I had to stay at the hospital for 3 months because of my cleft palate and lip and during that time my grandmother asked the nurse to stop pricking me with all of the needles because I would cry every time they did it but the nurse insisted that babies can’t feel pain. My grandmother knew better. Thankfully God got us through it I used to be so afraid of needles but not anymore!!!

4:59 "this nameless girl" *does* have a name. I am a nurse and was told the real story about this young lady and how she came to save millions of lives when I began my career 35 years ago. Her name was "Annie" and the doll was originally called "Resusci-Annie" (pronounced Resussi-Annie)

    • @wmdkitty

Said doll is also the inspiration for Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal". (A great CPR song, if you ever find yourself needing to do chest compressions.)

One day my daughters said they saw a video where a guy pretended to pass out to see what his dog would do. So of course they wanted to try it. I went first & he licked my face, my arms, & my feet & then got on top of me & started barking. So I gave him an extra treat that day since I felt bad for stressing him. A few days later my daughters tried it. He only tried helping my youngest daughter. He just stepped over my teen daughters & he even started to pee on one of them 😂.

ahh yes, the good old sleep paralysis, i've had that happen many times, but i've never been scared, but rather getting steadily angrier cuz of outside noise that kept pestering me, i remember one case where i was hit with an attack like that, there was a person that kept banging on my door repeatedly, and since i couldn't answer them i kept getting more & more mad, it finally ended with me getting up, walking over to my door tore it open and just yelled at the top of my lungs to "stop banging on my door constantly for the past half hour cuz i was unable to do anything about it, and how they would feel if someone did it to them when they are literally trapped inside their own body without any control" that was the last time they did that, but yeah, i strangely don't mind it when it happens, gives me time to think really

I've also had similar episodes like that. Someone is either knocking or jiggling my doorknob and i can't get up to do anything about it..i have a recurring one where a train horn is getting so loud that i think its going to cave in my skull lol. that's the most disturbing one i get.

I would think that if you got pregnant and there was a remote chance that you would have to use this antiquated saw instead of a C-section to have a baby there would be a LOT LESSER people having babies because they would not want to take a chance of that happening to them! There’s no way that I could see myself wanting to have a baby so badly that I would willingly put myself through that torture!!!

We had a raven in our down town aria that knew at least three languages. She learned them from tourists feeding her. Shooing her away and such. I used to love watching her. She even barked like a dog and could make dripping sounds too. She disappeared after three years. No clue what happened

E = mc² is the Mass-Energy Equivalence formula, NOT the Theory of Relativity, and nothing to do with the Theory of Relativity. In fact there is no Theory of Relativity, this is TWO separate (but related) theories, the General Theory of Relativity and the Special Theory of Relativity. Not a small error.

Sleep paralysis is no joke! I've had many different manifestations of it. Including loud noises, people trying to get me, a constant loop of thinking im awake and going about my day and realizing im asleep and repeating it self over and over and over..also seeing people stare in my face inches above my head and i cant do anything but stare back at them for what feels like hours...its not fun. Im almost used to it know but when it first started i was terrified to go to sleep.

Oh yeah...very true about the crows. Back in the day when they were hunted for food more (I'm assuming), you CAN trick them. For example if 2 people were hunting, and the crow(s) saw the two walking together, if one person hid, and the other walked away, the crow(s) assumed you BOTH walked away. That way one hunter had a pretty good shot to take them out. Turns out crows are NOT very good mathematicians!

When I was in Alaska, the ranger said that playing dead doesn't work on all brown or grizzly bears. Some respond to being large and loud, some to playing dead but there's no way to know. He said the best thing to do when you're in brown and black bear territory is to make noise as you go, (talk, sing, whistle, jingle things). The vast majority of brown and black bears will avoid you if they hear you coming

Re: #20 -- Resusci-Annie inspired "Smooth Criminal". Yes. _That_ one. By the King of Pop. The "Annie" repeatedly referred to is, yes, the CPR dummy. Artists find inspiration in the weirdest things.
    "Annie are you okay?
    So, Annie, are you okay?
    Are you okay, Annie?"
LPT: "Smooth Criminal" is a good CPR song, up there with "Stayin' Alive" and "Another One Bites The Dust".

I have always heard that beaver extract was used mainly as a substitute for rasberry flavoring. What I find more disturbing is that the sheer number of beavers killed for this extract is somehow more economically viable than actually just using the natural flavor they replace. I live in the beaver state with communities like Beaver Marsh, Beavercreek, Beaver and Beaverton and Oregon State University's mascot is the Beaver and the only live beaver I have ever seen in the wild was on a trip to Alaska.

There are enough beavers in Michigan that we have a hunting/trapping season for them.... funny enough, no wolverines though. Go figure!

Use to live in Oregon so many places that are hard to get to. I would back pack as a girl scout we would find some beaver dens and saw a few they hide so well into everything

A number of years ago my Dr GP diagnosed that my smoking had mostly destroyed my right lung, I went after lots of pain to my whole chest and lots coughing badly,
when I would breath in it almost sounded like I was choking trying to reinflate my lung again
strangely my cat NIBBLER always comes and stand on coffee or near me table and always watches me at around a meter away from me, if he doesn't he cannot hear me, mostly always he does this, I hear cats are the first pet to tuck into there owner after 24hrs 100% true story on 5th December 2019 I was told I had a Mass believing it was Cancer, today almost gone no new growth, still cough badly, NIBBLER still runs to his daddy, I love him
sorry 4 long comment but all true, NIBBLER also will fetch what I through, special cat

I love crows. Many years ago my grandpa had one that had its tongue split so it could talk. And they make great friends.

#2 19:42 Infant male circumcision is still conducted without anesthesia. It involves ripping the foreskin from the head of the penis because at that age they are attached with the same connective tissue that connects the fingernails to the nail bed. It's like ripping off a fingernail to pull it back and cut it off . . . with no anesthetic.

I was just informed that I am allergic to mosquitoes... I get a 3 mm welt or larger from their bites! It feels like a hot poker with flaming fire!

Speaking about the "real you", I had a great friend who used to say that I was a chameleon because I can change and adapt to any given situation. He wasn't wrong.
