Nice bike, I have the exact same one 2023 Z900 ABS. As far as your exhaust upgrade goes you may not have known but... Emission requirements are so strict on new motorcycles many higher HP bikes today use two mufflers in-line, one after the other. If you Google why there are two mufflers (the Z900 has the first under belly muffler and the second on the right side of the swingarm) Google says, "If two motorcycle exhaust systems are designed to produce the same amount of power, the one with larger volume can be made quieter." You often see V-twin cruisers with dual exhaust but one for each cylinder and not in-line with each other. However, in-line 4-cyl sports bikes with two mufflers, one after another is for more volume (space), which allows the exhaust to get out faster (freer flowing). Rather than having a very large single muffler or making a single muffler restrictive enough to meet emission sound regulations causing it to be down on power, the answer to getting the most power and keeping the volume (loudness) low enough is to have the exhaust pass through two medium sized mufflers, one after the other. By removing my second muffler the Z900 lost almost 10 pound and gained 4 HP and I still have the stock exhaust and catalytic converter installed, which still meets pollution requirements but no longer meets sound restrictions and that's ok by me. My Vstar 1300 cruiser with Cobra 2 into 1 slip on muffler is much louder and nobody says anything about that. The Z900 was so quiet before I could actually hear the sound of the tires rolling on the pavement, personally I still think it is too quiet but for now I'm pleased with the compromise and even though I gained power I did not lose any MPG, I plan on keeping it this way for the foreseeable future.
Indeed I'm seriously considering either boring out the welded spacers inside the stock headers with a bore drill bit the restrictions are so sad on newer bikes
you have to keep in mind the CRT is made for a european market and is thus made to be EU street legal and euro 5 compliant. so of course it can't be ear shattering loud
That huge bread box baffle resonator took me about two days to bore out finished up with a grind wheel it was about 20lbs of weight reduction and the universal flex pipe from Autozone or Oreillys mates with most mufflers too its an incredible note now. Put some bar end mirrors too it completes the look so good no joke been hunting down a good Z1000 but on year 5 with Z900 and its an absolutely amazing city bike but already did 400+ mile round trips twice now
I have a 2022 Z900. I picked up the same front turn signals but mine have white running lights. I have a full Akropavic exhaust on my bike. You dont absolutely have to flash the ecu when you put a new exhaust because the exhaust your buying was made for your bike. The flash is just to get the max out of the bike and get rid of restrictions that can hamper getting the max from the bike. I spoke to Yoshimura and Kawasaki about this. I will be doing a Dyno tune though this year. I also have the ASV levers. Nice bike bro enjoy
I got the motodynamic integrated tail and it allows you to run a stock Z pattern in it. You can program it to do 3 different patterns. I loved it way more than the TST one.
Cool video. Just found your chanel. I originally just threw a slip-on silencer on my Z900 as well, and also quickly realized it was still too quiet. I wound up replacing the headers a few days later and really like the end result. Just a heads-up, some full exhaust systems allow you to keep the O2 sensor connected so you dont need an ECU tune.
What quadlock mount did you use? I tried to install it on my 2021 Z900 but it didnt fit properly. Could only get it angled so the phone screen faced away from me kind off
Im using the bar mount but the dealership put it on while i was getting something checked out, my best guess is that the bars are thicker in some areas so just try moving it around and rotating the base to get that angle right. Good luck big dog
I just bought the new z900 SE and I’m thinking about getting the cs racing full exhaust system that comes out the bottom and the crash cage because it’s my first bike. Lol
Clean asf 🔥. Just picked up a 2021 with a full system, upgraded headers, and ecu flash. It’s loud asf and getting rid of the extra weight with the new exhaust makes a huge difference
I got nite cat tank pad kit from amazon was worried they were gonna be to small ,but they're not they perfect both sides and top,the colr looks like they could've factory ,I'm happy with them
My Z900 came with a SP Project slip on and I installed a full titanium header pipe system. Unfortunately the bike is just too loud now and at certain times even with earplugs it makes a deep boomy sound that shits me. It can sound awesome when revving hard, but cruising it can be unbearable. Akrapovic pipes sound much better for mine …
You can cut the resonator out and get the link pipe , or get the all system you will like better trust me. My it’s bike has yours but I have the rs and sounds amazing with the full system.
If you remove the cat (hence a true full system), you'll get that "exhaust note" i think you are desiring. Slip-on's do not do anything. Beautiful bike by the way.
Even after you remove the cat it’ll never sound like a true “full system exhaust” I did the same thing.. it did sound good! But after I got real titanium akrapovic headers it changed the sound entirely.
Or the big huge baffle/resonator it's a ton of weight that benefits a bunch if you chop the cat completely off I definitely recommend a professional tune
You are not going to want that slip on if you get headers. I made that mistake and bought a small cheap slip on when I put headers on and the bike is unrideable. I also know someone who put a full LeoVince exhaust on theirs with the same style slip on and will not even ride their bike. I ended up getting a Two Brothers S1R so I would actually have somewhat of a muffler to chill it out and get the sound a little more behind me.
You can add the TST flasher modulator with the stock set up, but there’s no way to integrate turn signals into factory Z tail light. You could revert back to the factory tail light and add little LED’s to either side of your license plate, but it wouldn’t look as clean IMO.
On quadlock page you have spacers and knuckles for the mount. Round $15, makes it taller so it wont hit the tank. The problem is that it doesnt have much room on handlebars so the only spot i found it managable to put it on was next to the left grip. Its tight to put the mount arround it but it fits perfectly
Btw , i have the z900 2020 euro 4 , it was one of the first they got to the country , after the middle of the year they came as euro 5 . Anyways , my euro 4 with the same CR-T sounds a lot louder
Sooo...tank pads and tank shell, very good, integrated rear indicators? bad. You need to be seen when you turn. Remove the bread box of course. But I suggest bar end mirrors and a small find deflector and I also added two high concentrated mini spotlights which is very useful. I also replaced the headlight bulbs with Xenon bulbs. And for the phone holder (I hate them) I've installed a central 7 inch screen above the dash which connects to my phone so I got good visibility and my eyes are always on the road. And I got a SC slip on too. I think this video is not giving good advice for usability. Oh and yes, my levers switch upwards, not forwards. Much better design.
Breadbox, I just bough akrapovic headers for 800€ and need to upgrade it and tune it on computer… together 1400€ for normal sound … why the fuck they making bikes more quiet 🤷

I fall in love with this bike. After over 10 years Yamaha FZ8 i will buy a z900 its time for a new one. cant wait.😁😍
I should have another in the next few months !
That is such a clean bike. Im gonna be upgrading my bike to a z900 soon. Your styling cues for your z gives me inspiration.

Nah if ur going 2 change headers u gotta flash the e.c.u
@@Mr.motogpRivera-zs4yunot necesary my dude.. if the headers are designed for the bike, the ECU adapts

Nice vid brow! The breadbox aka resonator is the problem on sound, once you get that bad boy out she’s gonna scream!
I just bought the new z900 SE and I’m thinking about getting the cs racing full exhaust system that comes out the bottom and the crash cage because it’s my first bike. Lol
You should be starting on a much less powerful bike, especially if you haven’t been riding dirt bikes for years … 😵
What fender eliminator is that?
Good info bro. Love your onesty

Welcome to the fam big dog 🤝. Hope to see you out there
I put a straightpipe on mine and omg that sound is soooo much better!
I like your videos I just got a 2019 z900 and I love it
Thanks for watching big dog, welcome to the family 🤝
Boom. Lol. Picking my bike up Friday. Can’t wait.

Could you save the z tail light and just add T&T modulator? What about velocity stacks? Air box & filter?
These are all good questions but I can’t answer them😅. I do plan on an air filter replacement when I flash but that’s about all I can say.

Hey m8 could you tell me which quad lock mount this is ? Do you think a iPhone 15 pro max will fit on it without hitting the bike ?

I have the same Colour. You live in the US, just cut down both mufflers lol no regulations like here in germany
Where did you get that tail light from?
Its TST I think the dealership put it on for me so I didn’t buy it direct
TST Industries, theyr out of FLR best upgrades and detailed install vids.
Rear stand at harbor freight work great and are hella cheap
