Grand Seiko "Tokyo Lion" Spring Drive model SBGA481. Titanium case and bracelet. Dual-curved sapphire crystal. Ivory dial features a pattern inspired by the flowing lions mane. Watch is powered by an automatic Spring Drive movement Caliber 9R65.

I began researching Grand Seiko mid-2023 after looking into Rolex. I found GS to be made in a much finer way with a great degree of precision. The Spring Drive is magnificent! I went on to purchase my first GS (the Shunbun “cherry blossom”) this past October while visiting Boston at the GS store and I love it. This one might be next!
GS is not as good as Rolex there is no getting around that. The problem with Rolex is the lack of dealer stock which GS has zero problems with and will fill that void.
@@Art-is-craft Search YT for the videos of newer Rolex under magnification - inconsistent quality and finishing issues. Rolex produces around 1mil units annually. There is enough to go around, but ADs insist on a made-up stringent process where they determine if the buyer is worthy or not. Former ADs have confirmed time and again they have stock in the back, but are always made to seem like they don’t. Rolex will also try and steer first time buyers into “available” pieces, which may not match what the buyer is looking for, while saving other designs for regular buyers. This creats a lot of room for grey market purchases, which Rolex says they avoid thru that buyer vetting process. However, they (and other “luxury” watch brands) are complicit in the grey market because they want to move units.
