Even if you're not making that up, the tip speed rules are only there for safety reasons. If your bot is still safe(ie the BattleBox can contain it), it doesn't really matter if it's over what the rules say.
@@Staurcomb It's because their bar is so wide, they are getting at least 12 inches of contact vs most spinners with like 2-4 inches that just slice through. Most robots don't even go max top speed (180-220mph) because after a certain point you lose torque. Your weapon may spin fast, but it won't have any punch behind, thus making it less beneficial.

The power and design of Riptide's spinner is so good. Notice they put almost all of the mass of the drum as far out toward the edge as possible, no reason to spin up mass in the center. I've not seen a single spinner as powerful as Riptide's. And, notice that the edge has a very deliberately designed profile. I think people have accused Riptide's team of cheating but I'm of the opinion that it's really just a great design. Not a lot of spinners have an almost completely open center. Again, this lets you put as much mass out where it is moving as fast as possible, giving the maximum amount of force, without wasting precious bot weight toward the center of the drum.
More technically: the open center increases the drum's moment of inertia around the spinning axis and therefore the amount of rotational kinetic energy the drum can build up to inflict on opponents

This match has so much passion. It brought a tear to my eye. Dragon had amazing sportsmanship and deserves the recognition they received from an amazing streak of wins. Overall, it was an amazing and exciting match!
It wasn't a win streak, only a streak of not losing by KO. I think it's pointless since they were still losing many matches. Tha Record holder went 24-1 without being knocked out. Black Dragon is only 16-9

Riptide is a menace, for sure. The size and weight of that weapon is so hard to get around. It just sucks that the team has all these questionable behaviors and a murky foundation to deal with. I'm cool with a pro-wrestling style Heel, but the moment it becomes more than pageantry, it's a problem.

Doesn't help their reputation that they've already shown that thirdd thing and their bot is a 250-pound ripoff of another bot in a lower weight class. My new least favorite bot as a result.
the judges have finaly said it riptide has joined the likes of ziggy and prime tombstone. as one of the most destructive bots in the sports history. also you gotta love when the lights get destroyed. or really any part of the arena even if it means fixing something between fights

Black Dragon's strategy to run from a head-on confrontation and offer undefended flanks has a mankind-long history of failure. Maybe they'll learn - put yer best weapon forward - don't run, don't open up your flanks for a center position weapon.
Black-Dragon was in the position of breaking a record because they were given easy matches by the powers that be, and Riptide is a BA bot for sure, but that main guy on the Riptide team is a complete goofball.😂
Riptide’s weapon is incredibly powerful. I think having relatively low drivetrain is actually useful for them as it’s easier to have fine tuned movements and keep the bot in the direction it needs to be - they don’t need to outrun our out maneuver other bots, they simply need to face their weapon the direction of the other bot at all times.
An entertaining battle to see would be Riptide vs Carbide from the Robot wars series. Carbide was by far my fav robot from the robot fighting series and was also a force to be reckoned with.
Eh, riptide is cool the team is very rude. I'm sorry but this is the cleanest fight they have had and then what every other fight has been unnecessary damage. Idk, they definitely did something to there bot that made it 2 lbs lighter in the future battles. Seems to me they're getting away with a lot.
I think the latest ep had an even cleaner one in a way. Minus Ethan's swearing - which is predictable, as well as his earth shattering "LET'S GOOOOOOOO!" - the team was actually rather humble and I really liked it compared to his Shatter, Shred, and MadCatter fights. He didn't need to really say "f the haters" on national television, though. That's a thought to keep to yourself or your team when no one's nearby. Still taking that with a bag of salt though because like you said, this season's basically been mostly Riptide controversies and misbehavior. While the BD fight and fight from last week (I won't say who yet, but if you know you know) were actually rather similar to their rookie season, I don't trust Ethan or his team to actually continue acting as humans and not a bunch of bloodthirsty baffoons.
