How lovely thank you. Did you have to tune the harp when it arrived and could you do a little video of how to tune it please as im not that musical so would need a tuner digital thing.
Oh honey, that was LOVELY! I am sitting at my table prepping for my at-home, timed health test for class, and my friend sent me your video. And now? Well that just took away all my test anxiousness! I can't wait to see more of your videos! ❤ Thank you for sharing that!
P.S. I would love it if you would create an MP3 of your Reverie harp playing - I would love to have this piece to listen to at night, or when I'm going to sleep.... (that's a compliment!)
Ann! Hi! I am thinking about a Reverie Harp Too! I would buy direct from Jerry at GabrielleHarps. I LOVE the tone! Jerry said he can make one 3 octaves for me. Using the same body, and using heavier wrapped strings on the end. Said he has made some that way. I love your playing! 😊🌹 (I have a Steel drum and singing bowl too.) 😉
I think I like the Meditation tuning best at the moment. The dissonance has appeal when notes on the left are interspersed with fingerpicking the right strings.
Nice! Sounds like you play guitar. I approach the Reverie harp like a piano player, but my husband (who is a guitar player) uses a fingerpicking style too. It's an entirely different texture isn't it?
You are correct Anne. I play guitar and more so ukulele. Your style is thoroughly pleasing and very relaxing. Lovely tempo.i’ll have to practice hard to master your very evenly spaced note playing. Thanks for sharing all your UA-cam recordings. On a different note is your finger drum in C?
As I listen to this again I wonder if the hymn "Creator of the Stars of Night" could be played with this tuning or with one of the pentatonic tunings? What a serene meditation that would be for a Vespers service. :)
I just took a peek at the sheet music for that hymn. The pentatonic tuning would use scale degrees 1-2-3-5-6 and this hymn has a lot of scale degree 4, so the tune might not quite come through. Might be a starting point though!
Hi Anne, do you compose and write down your tunes? I know many say it is an instrumen to just make up tunes but what about tunes for those who are starting out or for those to just remember and repeat?thanks, Fiona
Hi Fiona, I actually experimented with coming up with a notation for the Reverie harp. In the end, I am more likely choose set of patterns or textures that I'm going to use and improvise with those. Are you getting a Reverie Harp?
Of all the tunings I am drawn toward this Lullaby tuning for it's major/minor 'two chord' capability. At your convenience would you be kind enough to mention where I can purchase a singing bowl like this, and also a tongue drum? I know there are many options on websites, but I have no idea what is worth the money! I visit a nursing home every Sunday and am debating if a Reverie harp would be ideal?
I think the Lullaby tuning is especially nice if you like to sing. Carolin Nobles does some beautiful videos with Reverie and singing. I bought my singing bowl at a local shop, I don't know what company makes it. For me it was really important to be able to hear each one. You'll know when you find yours! The tongue drum is made by Meinl Sonic Energy, it was a birthday gift from my husband. In my experience, the residents in long term care preferred to hear the harp rather than the Reverie harp. I think it really shines in a meditative environment like yoga or massage therapy. Though I did have some seniors that truly delighted in holding it and gently strumming.
@@annecrosbygaudetmusic I'm not certain I thanked you for this response, so, thank you! I did just purchase a Reverie Harp and tuned it straight away to the Lullaby tuning. I'm still enjoying learning how to play it - it seems that rhythm and tempo are important. Oh, BTW, do you know what pitch the drum is in this video? Thank you again! And I play Gentle Rain on my harp almost every evening :-)
I got my Reverie Harp and I love it. It’s soo calming I can’t put it down. I hope you don’t mind I would like to make a meditation video on my channel too. I love this video
Anne, this particular composition of yours would lend itself well for orchestration.
i just got a second hand reverie harp, loving it and really loving how you play with such elegance.
Thank you, glad you're enjoying your reverie harp!
My cat is like sleeping peacefully hearing this harp lol
Aw cute!
I also just bought a Reverie Harp.
Nice, have fun!
This is lovely, Anne. Thank you. Just when I convinced myself that I 'don't need' a Reverie harp.... I like this tuning a lot, by the way....

Beautiful hands 😍 Lovely sounds! Thanks for sharing this ✨💕
Glad you enjoyed it!

Harp the same as a Zither, with no cord bars.
Lovey steel drum. Would you please tell me what key it is tuned in, the size and brand? Thanks very much.
Hi Jan, the tongue drum is Sonic Energy by Meinl.

Sorry I missed this comment from ages ago! Are you still enjoying your Reverie harp? Did you end up making a video?
