Best exigesis of this passage I've ever heard, and I've heard lots. It resolved some long standing hanging issues here 4me, primarily due to adding context which is so needed 4 complete understanding of any issue and is sadly disappearing from the public discourse in so many areas leading to much confusion. Thank you Mr Mark for going the extra distance in order to get to the depth of this truth, although single I know all scripture is good for teaching and understanding of my Lords will and purpose. I predict that this message will remain near the top of the best of mark 4 along time. Thanks bro
Certainly some good points made here! ... but it also misses (as do most commentaries on this issue) that Paul keeps referring back to Adam and Eve for a specific reason (as he says) THIS CAUSE (which involved the angels and Eve's grasping at equality - as opposed to Jesus doing just the opposite). In the end, the churches have NO SUCH CUSTOM (as women being uncovered). And a 'symbol of authority' was and still should be very important. Christian women have always covered their heads until only very recently in history, along with the women's liberation movement and popular (godless) culture. Coincidence or direct correlation? I guess the churches of our day finally understood Paul's message correctly ... after almost 2000 years ...
