A few things you might want to keep in mind, once legumes flower the level of protein in the plants decreases and the fiber levels increase ( higher fiber levels mean slower digestibility), this means regular cuttings will produce a better food source for your animals, regular cuttings will also suppress weeds without the use of chemicals. Make sure you allow 6 weeks of regrowth from final cutting to 1st killing frost. Also legumes are nitrogen fixing plants so there is no need to apply nitrogen fertilizer.
So much depends on soil moisture and the forcast before cutting

Not nearly so much with clovers and alfalfas, grass family plants like corn and sorghum have a fibrous root system that is shallow and is highly dependent on moisture in top 6 inches of soil profile. Lugumes on the other hand developed a tap root that in established stands can reach as much as 6 feet down. They are much less susceptible to sporadic rains and are quite tolerant to drought.
It's the Hot Shot No pest strip... Like you saw someone mention it in a group too, so I went to Amazon looked at reviews, they were great.. Picked up a couple at Walmart, put one in a shack with wasps, within days gone, no flys, spiders, nothing... Put one in a prefab shed that has asian beetles and flys... Couple days no flys or beetles crawling on the windows... Say they last four months
Forest is the man!!!!
Who?
I have had better luck just mowing twice maybe three times a year. Long as I frost seed every year it seems to stay lush. It does have a few weeds but It doesn’t really bother me. That last early fall mowing knocks out the weeds and the clover really explodes. In my experience Spraying often yellows but doesn’t kill. I have played with different mix’s and really set back the clover. That is my experience…
great segment - but when will you guys address the recent Iowa Cell Camera Ban? would like to hear from you guys on this topic.
I want to get more information on it first. Definitely need to discuss.
