Brilliant video that Jed , just shows what the 2WD vans are capable of . Great to see all your internal mods aswell . More videos like this please .. 👍👍
Really nice Bus! I hear you on the fridge and the condensation. I have one similar, that I added three pieces of refectix glued and stacked in each compartment with a flexible cutting board as a topper to make it rigid. That seems to keep more of the cold inside and less running of the compressor. Very nice use of available space inside Capt Coconut!!
Great watch used own t25 panel van yrs ago own t5 for work was thinking getting an old bay window camper for holidays but after watching this and your adventures changing my mind.👍
That stuff will give you the shitsss 🤣 say it how it is mate! - had me creasing up 😂 What a fantastic van and you’re absolutely spot on 2 wheel drive can get you very far! People overlook that but they’re unreal vehicles in all forms, shapes and sizes and very simple to work on & repair! Thanks for sharing bud and happy travels 👋
Really enjoying the videos! Didn't realise you also had a website with spares etc... I need an awning for my T4 with Pop Top! Definitely have a proper look tomorrow & look forward to the next installment 👍
I am not sure where that came from. It was kicking around in a pile of used parts so we used it up on this build as the headliner was damaged at the front. It did a great job of covering over that area. Jed
I recently enjoyed your walk through video and the rest of the Great escape series, I saw on one video but not the walk through your outdoor table that seemed to fit on your front wheel. Are you able to show it or link to your web shop please. Thanks again or the great video content produced by yourself.
These are very cool but super impractical in the states with that engine you chose.... Just doesn't have the balls bro!!! And then load the thing down with your gear, to me bad idea and unsafe primarily why put a power plant in one of these that is going to restrict you to two-lane roads order makes no sense might be more workable in Europe definitely not the states!!!! The Subaru conversion is way better or the TDI version of this engine.... I hear the Subaru is the best balance.
Ive seen a lot of those subaru conversions with major failures... A tuned up tdi can make reliable power and last I have a 2259 stroker waterboxer that has tons of extra power for climbing plus it cruises loaded at 70! They just arent designed to go fast ,but go anywhere!
@11secghia yeah I remember the one guy in the states with his girlfriend and some dogs travel did adventure photography and he had a TDI always breaking down... Idk??? Do you know Chad from living the van life??? He has a two-wheel drive with goodies and a Subaru conversion in his Westphalia??? Seems like he went through some troubles in the beginning with that motor conversion but it is sorted now and seems pretty solid according to his report. I think it's cool he saved the van still owns it and text it out occasionally, but relies on the sprinter 4wd, for regular adventure and work. And I'm not really a fan of the sprinter, I think a Transit build is much smarter and better performance and reliable because you're carrying so much weight because that little Mercedes diesel is starving trying to do mountains.... But people pay $240,000 for them lol make no sense and the maintenance on the Mercedes is going to be way more expensive!!!! ✌️
Hi. I wouldn't say this was unsafe and can't see why it would be impracticle in the USA . I have driven vans in Baja, USA and Canada. The idea of this van build is to experiment to see if the trade off with less power means better reliability and MPG with this set up. In this series I have been traveling for a month with the van being self supporting in off grid camping and showing you not need to load a van up with camping gear. I have been doing pretty well with what I have on board so far. The Subaru, is still an old flat 4 engine that is not that great on fuel. I do plan on shipping this van to the USA and keeping it in Baja on the 9 year TIP, so I guess I will find out one way or another. Jed
@@bsellman6881 Yes I know Chad. He has a TDI in his Vanagon and he was telling me how he loves it when I meet up with him in California. I think the guy with his girlfriend and dogs may have been Live Work Wander. Great people but they gave up on social media unfortunately. Cheers, Jed

Thank you. I have only ever used Snomaster and ARB fridges before and now realise why these more established brands cost more money.
Cheers,
Jed
Thank you Jed for this guide through your van. It just goes to show that with a little thought “keep it simple” works very well.
Thank you for the kind word.
Cheers,
Jed
I would love a synchro but don't have the money for one. The kit you have on your van gives the synchro look and feel but at an affordable price. 👍
Exactly 😀

Very informative. Lots of great goodies installed. I might have to write a letter to Santa...!
Just tell him Jed sent you hehehehe..

Fantastic use of space Jed! The vanagwan is a bit of goat, probably put to shame a few 4x4 rigs
I think so too.
Jed
Hi Jed, would it possible for you to show how you build the rear shelves for the euro boxers - great build.
I will try to add something on our instagram or on our reels here on UA-cam for you.
Cheers,
Jed
@ thanks - i have followed on insta as well now

It would be nice to know a little more about the black box above the sun visors.

Hi jed , where can I get the locks for the doors?
Cheers Will

Now I need a green one! Hehehehe...
