Honestly the scariest part. They can just...hijack ghosts. And judging by how terrified our ghost was in the beginning of Arrivals when he literally begged it to not take him again...it has to hurt so much.

That wasn't the pyramid that violated ghost. It was the entity that controls the pyramid and the rest of the black fleet: the Witness.

3 years after this, we now know The Witness is behind all of this. And we are incredibly but slowly close to.......The Final Shape.
I do hope everyone is ready for that.

The Pyramid Fleet is Finishing off the System that the First Pyramid Failed to do.
Imagine if we're the cause of the Second Collapse. Guardians turning to the darkness, as the Eliksni on Europa did. What if this is all a test to see if we're strong enough to wield its power? The Stranger did say she came from a world where we fell to Darkness.
But what does it mean? To fall?
That’s a great comparison. Like, in Mass Effect, the Reapers reaching the galaxy was the lose condition. Throughout Destiny, the same deal applies. If the Darkness invaded with its full might again, that’s the lose condition.

The constant pitch it's emitting is vaguely shaped as one, and it gets bigger the longer the more time passes.
I love the cosmic horror vibe of shadowkeep, especially the final mission, its an amazing introduction to what would eventually be revealed to be the Witness.
Thanks to The Witch Queen expansion, I think it's safe to assume that this is The Witness speaking to the Guardian, rather than the darkness itself speaking to the Guardian (as I believed when Shadowkeep originally dropped).

Unveiling however seems to be a different story. The dialect, pronouns, and philosophy is distinctly different than the witness
Little did we know this guy here would give us a brief prelude as to what the Witness sounds like. All these voices meshed together into a single/multiple entity
I personally theorize that light and dark are just sides of the universe, like life and death, but the witness was the perfect shape from the flower game. It also would make sense for the witness to tell its disciples that the final shape is the most perfect thing in the universe instead of the death of the universe. Elsie's time jumps prove that if light or dark dies, everything dies.
If you listen to the ghost closely you can hear a faint whisper behind its voice, probably the witness.
That last scene could honestly be submitted as a trailer of sorts. I love the Shadowkeeo soundtrack but this track is my favorite

I wrote this to the OST "Salvation" originally but since it's 7 months old video, I wanted to add it here.

But yes in some ways the witness is going as a winnower. But the real roll from the witness of the unveiling book is the first knife. The Witness is the first knife against the Gardener.

Well, it is in the lore that when drifter was known as dredgen he had met darkness creatures, creatures which made other dredgens meet their final deaths (the location hasn't been specified, in the lore tab he only said it was a snowy place, so maybe he means somewhere at Europa)

I believe that the battle with the Light took at millions of Darkness ships so it cut them down to a quarter so now we are just dealing with Thousands of ships so yeah we have small chance of wining
Thing is if they wanted us dead, they would've probably done it already. The Darkness sees our potential, now that we've beaten the likes of Oryx, Crota, Riven etc. It wishes to use us, turn us in to the dark path, so that it can prove the Gardener's (Light's) philosophy wrong. We are the last argument in their endless war. And if we decline, it means possible extinction.

That's the scene from the very beginning of the game right after Ghaul pushes us off the side of his ship when he takes the light! That means the darkness arriving was hinted at since the very beginning of the game. I don't know if there is a metaphor surrounding the pyramids falling to the water that we are in in the cutscene, but I still find it very interesting at least!

[They] are a force, a consciousness, an entity that has existed since before the dawn of the universe and will continue to exist long after its death. They are not good, they are not evil, they are the stone that sharpens the blade of the universe they will continue to do so until all that remains is those who survived all of their 'sharpenings'. They are a necessary darkness. Culling the universe a thousand times over until only the strongest remain.

Honestly i Will be fair pre 2022 darkness when the witness wasnt known/ revealed was the best darkness since it was so eerie and not knowing who was the one actually talking to us made it creepier

Perhaps we did in our prior life that we don't remember.
It's a reference to the fact that it embodies the central motivation of self-interest core to all life, so it should be very recognizable and familiar to us.

Do they even have an appearance i mean the whole pyramid ship is empty
Look carefully at the walls inside the first pyramid on the moon. There are scratches on the walls in certain areas. Gouges that look suspiciously like they were made by claws. Additionally, there are closed doors inside the pyramid that can't be opened, and if we try and go down a hallway other than the intended path, the Darkness stops us.
It might just be speculation on my part, but I'm pretty sure that the pyramid on the moon isn't empty... and that the Darkness doesn't want us to meet its truest servants.
