Thanks for the support !!
I just go it! I'll try it in the next days, thank you for the amazing effort in your videos and work
Let us know if you do, We'd love to have a watch and share!
Wow - you made the color grading process look easy with this powergrade! Well done - I'm just getting into more intermediate to adv color grades and wondered if you have any input on using this powergrade vs. dehancer for mostly youtube work. Thanks so much for this tutorial!
Hi, I've bought this film emulation and I can't wait to try it out. But I wanted to ask couple of questions, when shooting slog 2 in a7iii, do we need to always overexpose by exactly +2 or is the range from +1 to +1.9 still ok? Also, when recording a person, how do you properly expose the face. Do you use an exact zebra value or any metering modes? Lastly, what are the ideal range for ISO in a7iii, if we are forced to change it in order to overexpose? Thank you.
Literally my favorite channel
Really Appreciate the support!
That makes digital look so much better
🙏🏽
much love from austria
Thanks a lot Kai! Have a great week ⚡️
sorry if this is a noob question. but what's the difference between this digifilm tool and cineprint16 tools you guys showcase? Cheers!
Banger
Thanks a lot !
the reds node is crazzzyyyyyy
It’s epic!
Very good video! Do you apply this color tree to every single clip oder do you use groups? keep going with this good videos!
Thanks! And if the different clips are shot from in the same scene and settings then we’ll just copy the node tree, group all the rest of the clips, and then paste the node tree onto all of them. If the clips in the timeline are shots from different scenes we’ll apply the PowerGrade to each one individually
@@meliorstudios got it thank you
Happy to help!
@@meliorstudios Every time I try to apply the power grade Digifilm to a Clip, Davinci crashes. Where could be the problem?
Hey Dark, firstly you have to make sure you’re using the latest version of Davinci resolve 18. If this still doesn’t work please send us an email at: hello@meliorstudios.com
Such an underrated channel, at this point I should just leave uni and learn from you 😂
Our whole team learnt everything from UA-cam ⚡️
What are the camera settings for the sony a7sIII slog 3
Just PP8, shot at 24 fps, f1.8, iso 800 I think
amazing once again. Do you know what colour space and gamma in the CST I should be using if shooting in L-Log with a Leica SL2? can't find the info anywhere. I tried using rec709 on both but looks veryyyyy flat
Hey Adrian! Leica is a funny one as like you say the input color space/gamma of L-Log isn’t present in the CST options. My advice is to download the Leica Conversion LUT from their website and place this node with the LUT before the CST. Then input Rec.709 for both your input gamma and input color space and you should be good to go
@@meliorstudios so so helpful thank you so much !! Will try out asap
Tom bolles cineprint 16 or this digifilm cineprint16? Which one should i buy?
How do you go about colorgrading many clips in a single project when you’ve done quite a few changes and you want them to match
Hey Nicolas. We've made a video on this that may help: ua-cam.com/video/nBES58V0IR0/v-deo.html
If you got to the time 2:13 on the vide we go over how to do this. Hope it helps!
Hi, im about to buy your film and digital simulation but, it work with a sonya7iii? On slog2? Please!!! Im ready to buy haha
Hey! Yes it does, we use it with our A7iii all the time. The great thing about Digifilm is you can use it with any camera even an iPhone. All you have to do is input slog 2 into you input colour space of your CST node and the gamma you used and you’re good to go!
are you planning to do some tutorials with iphone LOG? i mean with digifilm?
i would buy it ;P so would do other iphone users imo
Yes! Just need to get our hands on some more apple log footage 🙌
Can i use it on the free version of Davinci resolve 18.5?
Yes! All you have to do is make sure the film grain node is turned off and you’re good to go⚡️
is this all possible on the free version of davinci?
Yes! All you have to do is turn off the film grain node and you’re good to go! We have linked some free film grain overlays in our description that you can use instead to overcome the film grain obstacle. Hope that helps!
@@meliorstudios Thanks man
No worries, let us know if you need any other help!
Which is better, this or CinePrint16
Cineprint16 is definitely more comprehensive and has a few more features you can play with to fine tune the overall 16mm look which makes it great. Though the node tree is quite busy and it doesn’t adjust reds very well despite using NS Matrix.
Digifilm of course comes in 16mm and digital film so you get the best of both worlds and 2 powergrades essentially. The benefits with this powergrade is that the node tree is a lot cleaner and it’s configured so you have full control to get the best skin tones. And everything is already set up to make it as easy as possible
would this work on davinci resolve for ipad?
No.
Yes! We’ve imported it into Davinci resolve on our iPad Pro and it works as it should!
I wish the prices can accommodate people outside of Europe. Because when you convert the 60dollar to African currencies is just too much 😢
Which emulation would you prefer? Digi or Cineprint?
I was thinking just the same too cuz I have Cineprint and Dehancer
Hey Naarek. cineprint16 is a great 16mm film emulation and there's a lot of control and accuracy over the tonality. The only problem we found with Cineprint16 is that if we want to make color adjustments of the skin and certain objects, the node tree gets really messy and it struggles with reds often too. With Digifilm it comes with two powergrades, a 16mm look and digital look that tried to imitate the modern netflix look we see on Tv nowadays. For the 16mm look it's not as refined as cineprint16 but it's a lot easier to use and focuses on color separation and good skin tones. They both have their pros and cons, but we've definitely used Digfilm a lot more over the last 6 months over cineprint16 simply because how quickly we've learnt to grade with it
AARON, If you already have Cineprint16 you probably won't benefit too much with Digifilm 16mm film, but Digifilm Digital film definitely creates a more creamy digital "netflix look", which is a different look to what you get from C16 or Dehancer But if it's a standard 16mm emulation you're looking for and already have C16 or Dehancer, you should be alright💪🏽
@@meliorstudios Thank you!
@@meliorstudios Fantastic reply! Thanks so much, definitely brought claritiy to my dilemma. I'm aiming for a more 16mm film look, so I think Cineprint16 would be right up my alley, is the skin tone issue a really big deal breaker?
too much blue on the factory grade
Thanks can be easily adjusted with the White balance node. But you’re able to create a look that you prefer. For us the blue worked alright but of course it may not be the best look for everyone
day 71 of me trying to buy this bic my county dont allow me to pay
I’m sorry to hear that :(
@@meliorstudios let me pay you with my county currency 😭😭
