I've been playing modded stalker since 2008 and it warms my heart to see how far the community has come to keep this game relevant all these years later.
@@helloimziad7406 I honestly can't remember them all, but people started releasing very complex mods that "opened up" ShoC even before Clear Sky was released. My phrasing was a little off and i should say, i played a LOT of modded stalker between 2007-2012 and then really nothing until present, besides a little Anomoly. Back in the day, there were some total conversions but we spent a lot of time compiling weapons packs, graphics mods, A-life tweaks, etc on our own to create a custom stalker experience. Having played a little Anomoly, i would say that is the fully realized version of what so many modders were working towards back in the day, especially the open world with cut levels. You can tell GSC really listened to the mod community and made COP much more open and sandboxy than ShoC.
@@SloopJohnB91 I see, so it's not a total conversion mod that was your favourite but a compilation of mods used for shoc. can you tell me some of those mods you used if your memory helps?
@@helloimziad7406 there were some total conversion mods but not as complete as what we have now so you were often combining mods. i can't remember all the specifics but i do remember Oblivion Lost back in 2010 era. I know Misery didn't release until 2012/13ish but i think that team all had their hand in the previous era of stalker mods that i played back before COP was released.
A group of mercs randomly ambushing the flea market during an emission is exactly the kind of thing that makes me love Gamma, and stalker as a whole for that matter. I really hope A-life 2 can give us similar moments as that.
thanks for uploading so consistently, i dont think people can apreciate that enough. Also your commentary is great on your stalker vids (i havent watched much else lol sorry) But i always apreciate some fun commentary in gameplay videos!
I sure can. It's always nice to know that you can expect episode to be soon rather than once a week and inconsistently. Enjoying the series a lot, not only because of the way he plays, but also because of the editing and consistency
Reason why you didn't hurt that Renegade very much was cuz you were using HP ammo against an armored target. That "glass breaking" sound you can hear at one point is you finally breaking his helmet armor. Basically the way NPC armor works in Gamma is that if your ammo doesn't have enough AP/BR rating to penetrate the armor, it damages the armor and NOT HP. After you break the armor that's when it does HP damage. Head, torso and legs have seperate ratings IIRC, but also damage multipliers. Math nerds, feel free to correct me.
Something to note as well is that the damage you do to armor also depends on the BR, not the damage of the round. So for example 5.45 FMJ will break through BR40 armor faster than buckshot even though buckshot has a ton more damage
Yeah that's why I usually stick to FMJ ammo on general use guns. It also doesn't help that I run the magazine mods, so packing and repacking different kinds of ammo is something I only do later in the game with specific purposes in mind.
4:07 and thats why Stalker is so good it does not hold your hand and the fact that any questgiver can just die to the dangers of the zone makes it feel so much more a-life :p
I stumbled apon your first video and ended up watching all 4 ep.. quite enjoyed your play through. I've played stalker gamma loads and it's always fun to watch some else play and see their experience. I'll definitely be watching your stalker 2 content.
One way to cheese the mutants in the swamp is to walk out in to the water. You'll get radiated but they wont follow you and you can pick them off one by one. Sometimes its better to get radiated then get those legs busted since the dogs and cats seems to aim for those.
Female stalkers have been in GAMMA for a long time. It is quite hard to tell them apart from male stalkers unless you get real close. They also very rarely speak, this is the first time I heard a female line.
getting ammotoolbox is the first big improvement - even if you disable old/dirty/rusty ammo in the mods. You want use western arsenal? Dismantle other assault rifle bullets to make your own. Even better if you use Colt1911 to craft ammo for it from cheap 9x18 or 7x25 or whatever old soviet low calibre ammo is. 2:454:59 small tip - if the name ends with "a" then it's female. At least in Poland - the further east into Europe it's different story. For some reasons they're not that eager to speak out loud as male NPCs so no wonder it's easy to overlook that. Adding challenges like saves restrictions changes your way of playing - now you think twice before doing anything. Such slow, more tactical gameplay is refreshing for a game where you spend unhealthy amount of hours.
Easiest way to deal with the mutants in the swamp is to step briefly into the water, not for too long due to radiation. They do not have path finding in the water
Workbench storage has 300kg, while buildable blue box storage has 400kg. And while you can "access" all that storage when crafting it has downsides. If you store a lot of artifacts, they will kill you with radiation almost instantly.
The custom Waypoint mod is still in gamma you just have to manually turn it on in the mod organizer now. Also what progression difficulty and gameplay difficulty are you playing on
21:52 dude nice tip i play on EFP (escape from Pripyat) (cause its potato friendly lol) I'm excited to try it after I'm done bingeing these tonight hehe
Why release this while im at work 😭😭 but also... I get to watch at work 😈😈 I've also been watching your efp series literally a day or two before this series. Afterwards, I'm gonna go back to unisg series cause I didn't get to finish that series. I'm excited to watch this episode! Been playing stalker myself and I'm no good at editing, but watching you release this makes me want to record and release my own stalker playthrough. I'm still mostly a noob to the stalker series but playing as merc has its own weird challenges I didn't think of. Hope you're doing well buddy!
Great content! I love your commentary. My only issue is you using fast travel. The zone is dynamic, ever changing, and you never know what you'll run into travelling from from 1 area to another. Using fast travel nullifies this entirely and ruins the immersion imho. I saw an enemy between you and Rostok when you checked your PDA before using fast travel, so you avoided that potential trouble. I understand why some do it, this is a time consuming game running up and down the map doing missions. I won't use FT myself because I play this game for the immersion and the unknown. It's what makes this game so much fun.
Such a good series! I want to get into gamma but it just seems too much and im afraid ill be on google a lot to find out how things work. I’ll stick to watching for now.
The weapons you find on the Duty soldiers and missions similar also Sid's missions the weapons are all fully loaded with ammo... also the guns in the stashes also should have ammo as well... correction they do if you are using magazines...
Lets fucking goooooooooo, just finished part three and i double check the channel and boom! Part numbah 4! Now i have entertainment at work till lunch!
There's a way better room upstairs. Well, two of them in fact. I set my base there too, great place. Just climb the stairs and both rooms on the right hand side.
Metro last light is one of my favorite games! so yes. The first game still plays well today and is a lot of fun. The newest one was good but imo it lacked something the first two games had. Definitely worth checking out though!
Regarding the waypoint mod, it was removed for some reason so I had to add in the personal waypoint mod for my playthrough. It's quite surprising that it was removed
I think you were reading the stats wrong on the PL-15 vs MP5. The MP5 is better in every way except accuracy. I noticed when you said it had better rof? the MP5 has double the RPM of the PL-15. I think you mightve been reading the "compare stats" from the walther p99 to the Lebedev. And since the MP5 is a SMG that takes a class A repair kit, I think you might be significantly better off with that. Like someone said in a previous vid, it is absolutely goated at mutant farming. Much cheaper ammo than the Hydrashock .45
@@mikulik6789 NO way. So I can do the base building without having to download gamma? I have a PC with 16 gigs ram that I use for Anomaly and a mod called ROAD TO THE NORTH, the only thing I need in that game is the base building otherwise it's a perfect experience.

It's hard to watch these, because I have urges to translate and explain everything, like that dead duty Sereda Sereda means Wednesday in Ukrainian 45:30 "I feel like everything is only getting worse and worse"
yeah, enemies have superior vision through shrubs and grass. Sneaking only works if you are out of their FOV and make little noise (no heavy gear/exos). There are settings to make shrubs/grass obscure you more but those mess with the AI overall and break it even more. Would not recommend.
Please, I kindly urge you not to support russian mods. As far as I understand from searching the web on it, Anomaly Custom is a russian-made mod. Moreover, they openly state that they’ll pirate Stalker 2 on its release. So it’s just bad habit to continue supporting them by showcasing their mods and games.
