I liked the revamp, as his old one is unique yet stil low in popularity and picks, however now that he became a proper fighter in the revamp, I think many will now pick him

I guess it's balanced
If anything, I really don't like how Moonton makes characters like Vexana, Aurora, and Phoveus, and just turns them into younger attractive characters. Moonton doesn't want anybody to be old or different I guess. He's just another hot guy with abs.

Uhhhh.... I don't get it tho, Old Phoveus is still like that than the new one...
The skills are good but the hero design kinda bad I liked the spiky ball and the middle aged man look and the voice lines were the best of all my favourite was "Fear Me"
The 1st skill doesn't give shield anymore 😢 it was very good for 1v5 i did maniac because of the 1st skill shield alone

The Anti-Dash role that he had is not there anymore.
"His CDs are still reduced by the Dashes 🤓".
Yeah but he completely lost his ability to persuade you from Blinking or Dashing.
They made him even easier to avoid 'cause now he won't Ult again when they Blink Away from it.
The problem with Old Phoveus lies on the fact he can't do anything without someone dashing or literally pushing them away. You need someone like Akai to make way for his anti-dash role.
Heroes like Minsi are best described as the anti-dash hero due to his Ult and passive than to Phoveus, because if some heroes will just bait you towards their tower, you'll have a problem with it, since some dash skills are longer than those who are just mid ranged like Harith, Karrie, etc than Fanny/Ling.
Plus, you can't even use Ult unless they are forced to dash or use flicker, and even if you have that momentum. Heroes like Rafaela can easily counter the Old Phoveus.
His Anti-Dash Mechanics are just too weak back then since he relies heavily on those who dashes in order to damage, such as Harith and Moskov.
Comparing it to this new version, I guess it have some unique changes, but lacks something in order to make him meta, and that's his first revamped passive movement speed was cancelled, in exchange for CD Reduction.
The problem lies on the new Revamp is that his Ult is now physical than magic Damage, in which it can easily countered by WoN, and his 1st skill being changed thoroughly that the latter deals more damage than the former, especially with IQW.
While in fact, the Old Phoveus deals more damage than New Phoveus, the utility of the new Phoveus still is the best due to Crowd Control. Heck, new Phoveus can also counters Chou's Ultimate when you timed it right with his passive, unlike before where you need to wish your Ult hits as they dash. That is why he was low in popularity, since Cici can also counter dash heroes with her Ult that even Ling can't escape, Minsi is the perfect counter to mid dash heroes, and Khufra being Khufra.
You know what lacks Phoveus isn't actually his damage, but his utility wether if its CC or Mvm SPD.
Also, I don't think Old Phoveus can persuade you to dash since some heroes can just walk unless if its Harith or Moskov.
His 2nd Skill can be easily dodged by sidestepping, and he is weak to camouflaged heroes when using Ultimate.
The only thing he can be useful back then is if you have an ally like Akai that can forcefully push them, or just wish you don't have heroes like Fanny that have longer blink skill, because you won't even hit them.
And Rafaela is an annoying counter for Phoveus back then, because of Mvm SPD.

Fun fact: revamped phoveus & old phoveus are infact around the same age, the event of his story happen when alucard & bened was still a child younger than 10, i hope they msde an elite skin of his older (future) version of himself

Moonton back then : make unique monstrous heroes who have unique sounds and skills with of course unique lore.
Moonton now : hey have seen yin, yeah change them all to lieh voice, make them sexy, way to sexy. Also, let's repeat other heroes skills and make them somehow sound different. And in the end, give the new heroes the kimmy ability to "move while doing something" treatment, and be sure they are way op then a dragon or abyss kings or any powerful creaters we made in terms of lore, be sure a yoyo girl beat most of fighters, or use a girl with a lantern who's only purpose is to use you as a toy throwing you every where while stealing your speed to insure you are trolled.

Well, I know we're gonna miss how much of a tank the old phoveus was. And the counter to dash heroes. But this isn't so bad, we get a new concept of 0 cooldown ultimate. Might take some time getting used to, tho (still don't get why they had to change the damage type to physical tho. I'm hung up on that part the most)
Edit:I just thought of something. Why not add like a slow to the enemy. Or like a speed boost to any of his skills. He won't be a complete counter, but he'll be able to catch up. And maybe lower his attack for some defence? Just an idea
This feels like that one Greek-ish champion back in League of Legends. Pantheon? Yeah it was Pantheon. He was reworked as well, going from an anti carry(basically a counter to any hyper carry) to a good all rounder. It's nice how they gave Phoveus this sort of treatment.

Actually liked both of em, but the old one has an ultimate that is spammable whenever an enemy dashes and has a longer range. The problem with revamp one is that you really need to be mindful of its new mechanic by doing combos first before enabling yourself to use the ultimate. Though the revamp one has an ultimate that has no cooldown but yeah. I kinda wished tge revamp ultimate was as spammable as before but yeah it's gonna be so op if they did.
I like this revamp. By the way‚ is the Granger revamp final? the changes to Granger seem unnecessary‚ to be honest. As a Granger user‚ I am quite disappointed with the revamp. Granger was performing adequately‚ and the revamp seems redundant. Instead‚ the focus should have been on addressing existing issues‚ such as enhancing his late-game utility by increasing his damage output or ensuring his ultimate ability is not canceled by crowd control effects. Seeing the revamped Granger repeatedly on my screen is frustrating :/

His s1 shield was one of the best parts of his old skills which made him impossible to kill in the lane and survivability in teamfights. As a Phoveus main im upset and disappointed with Moonton for ruining him. Glad HoK has been released and will be my main game from now on.

You know what old phoveus design was clunky it was original but very clunky and awkward.
The new one looks fking amazing.

In full honesty I loved the idea of giving phoveus a revamp.. he needed some attention and now he's getting it, but now it feels like you're playing another version of Terizla with just a different paint job, rather than before where if you were to face off against phoveus playing characters like Lancelot, wanwan, fanny, chou, paquito, and ruby, you would always have to worry about him jumping on you over and over dealing copius amounts of damage..
But now I feel like characters like all those characters listed before can easily just avoid his attacks now.. since good paquito players won't even allow you to hit them with skills due to dashing around too fast before you can react (same for chou, fanny, Lancelot) while other characters like wanwan can easily break out of it with her 2nd skill and characters like ruby just have to slow you to keep distance and just slowly damage you to death, the only character I think this new phoveus can counter that the old phoveus counters better is alucard...
As much as I love the newfound attention Phoveus is getting... I'm not sure if his purpose as a counter for hard to counter heroes will be seen ever again... I just feel like I'm playing Terizla with some slight extension to his skills...
They gave phoveus the love he needed, better skill 2 and faster ult cuz it was slow animation and plus no longer mana user at least 😅😅 giving more options for physical build, but for professional advice Kazuki what would u prefer for his revamp spell flameshot execute or some others in situations

The rework is good, but it was not necessary to change the damage. Build magic damage was better than physical damage now
The new phoveus is an ok but they downgraded one special ability of his which was his ultimate activates if an enemy blinks or dashes near you, the new one only has reduced skill cooldown if an enemy dashes and the only way his ultimate activates is if they are marked and the mark can only be placed through his first skill phase 2, his 2nd skill and his enhanced basic attack
His first skill no longer pulls enemies to the center. It just marks them. As soon as they're hit with the second phase of his first skill, he can use his ultimate right away.
I have theory about this new phoveus is that he might still be able to counter dash heroes that have a short or melee dash range or he can be a good counter to dashers that use 1 whole combo that go all out, because this new one is all about hitting your skills to activate his ultimate and all his skills and basic attack range are melee.
So examples of heroes I think this new phoveus can counter: chou, paquito, arlortt, alu, zilong, so on...
Heroes that this new phoveus cannot counter:
Hayabusa ling and lancelot cause these 3 have some long range dash skills

Tbh, they should have kept his old gimmick, but revamped his skills. The old phoveus was feared because of displacement and blink, and now they just removed his fangs.
Overall i see this as a positive on impoving his kit, but a negative because they removed the one thing that makes him unique

Now that his ult activates when a hero is displayed so the question is is it mandatory that only he has to displace the enemy to activate his ult or it will still activate if u r Teammates displace them if is the case then he would be op combined with the new mage if not then i dont think the revamp is of any great use earlier he used to counter high mobility heros now he will be countered by high mobility heros 😢

I don’t know how I feel about the revamp. The look does get better tho. But he can’t counter all those high mobility assassins anymore. 😢
