When I was about this daughter's age my grandparent's boxer, Gizmo, likely saved my life by grabbing me by my scruff before I walked into a busy street oblivious when no one else was watching. God Bless Boxers.
@Anna Etienne Wow, that's an amazing story! Boxers are indeed very protective and loyal dogs. It's wonderful to hear that Gizmo was able to prevent a potential accident and protect you. It just goes to show how much love and care these dogs have for their human family. Thanks for sharing your story!💚
It sounds like your family had a very special bond with your boxer. They truly are amazing dogs with unique personalities and loyalty. It's never easy to lose a beloved pet, but the memories of the time spent with them are something to treasure forever. We are sorry for your loss 💜💚
I'm 60 years old. When I was about 3 years old, a very good friend of my dads paid us a visit along with his little girl. The friends little girl did something that back then required a spanking. He was going to do it in front of our dog Ginger a boxer. My dad warned him he better not because Ginger would go after him... Boxers are very protective dogs. Thank goodness..
Thanks for sharing your story! It's great to hear how protective and loyal dogs can be towards their human family members. Rusty is no exception. It's amazing to see how much animals can care for and bond with their loved ones.💜😊
Boxers can be very gentle and loving with children, and they often have a strong protective instinct towards their family members. It's wonderful to hear that your daughter's Boxer was so good with her children. It sounds like they had a special bond. We sorry to hear that your daughter's Boxer is no longer with you.💚
That is so beautiful, boxers are good dogs I had 3 of them many many years ago, how beautiful a dog and his bird so sweet, thank you for sharing this!!!
I noticed on your short where you described Rusty choosing you by laying his head on you. I had a friend at work whose dog had puppies. They were pit puppies, and we had very young children, so I called a vet first. I asked about having a pit with kids; and they told me that pits are great with kids, and raising them together ensures nobody ever messes with the kids. Sounded safe enough, so I went for it. I went into the yard and they opened the door. 5 or 6 puppies came charging out, running around, losing their minds. They were adorable. Finally this one puppy comes wandering out all slow. She looked around the yard, then walked slowly over to me. She sat down beside me and laid her head on my leg, and looked up at me. My heart melted right outta my chest... My friend asked me which one I liked. I told him it didn't matter, because this one already made up her mind, and we laughed. She sat still on my lap for the whole 30 minute drive home. Anyway, I've actually picked two puppies this way, and both were great dogs. Whenever possible, this is the method to use, if you want a dog to bond with. If they picked you from the start, you're halfway there already.
Some people think boxers look mean. They are so loving, and gentle, and love to have fun. Also, they are very loyal. I have a neighbor who has a boxer. He has the most expressive face! You can't ask for a better pet.
@Wendy Schroeder Absolutely! Boxers may have a tough look, but they are known for their playful, fun-loving and loyal personalities. They are often referred to as "clowns" for their silly antics and love for playtime. Boxers are also great with children and make wonderful family pets. It's great to hear that your neighbor's boxer has such a fun and loving personality!🥰
The bird is hilarious. We're on Boxer# 7 and 8 and it doesnt surprise me one bit that Rusty would befriend a bird. Although I had a male named Jack Dempsey and he'd attack any animal that wasn't another dog. I couldnt tell you how many goats I paid for at our weekend place. That crazy dog would swim the river and bring back a goat. I have no idea how he got the goats back across the river but he did. He tried to catch deer but he wasnt fast enough. He did learn about porcupine, skunks and wild hogs. After those encounters he was a lot more careful about what he tried to chase.
That's a funny and endearing description of boxers! They are known for their high energy, playfulness, and affectionate nature. Many boxer owners would agree that their dogs are lovable goofballs who are always eager to please and make their humans happy. It sounds like your Great-Aunt Gertie had a lot of fun with her boxers! How sweet 🩷💚
@@CuddleBuddiesChannel She did indeed. A good few years ago now I saw a young boxer tied outside a coffee shop. He was going nuts because nobody would go near him. I sat down and was wearing a hundred pounds of boxer in seconds. The owner came out, afraid I was being attacked. I laughed and told him about Aunt Gert. He knew I was quite ready for the dog. Somehow, though, I ended up a beagle person. The little monsters keep finding me!
i love rusty. i had a gentle giant..rottweiler, shepard, airedale and lab. she hung out with my pug whose back end was partially paralyzed. garbo the giant would nudge the pug along at dinner time to the bowl or out the pet door to potty. the pug was a brat and would bite me - her only saving grace was her teeth all sloped towards the front so the "bite" was totally ineffective. and at any dog park she would do the pug cha for strangers for laughter while garbo went after the ball. the pug was insincere to me - only being nice for a treat. she also was delusional thinking she was the leader of the pack - i actually had 4 dogs altogether and they all let the pug do her thing while pretty much working around her.
It sounds like Garbo was a wonderful dog and companion to your pug. It's amazing how dogs can form such strong bonds and help each other out, right?❤️. And it's funny how some dogs can have such big personalities, like your pug thinking she was the leader of the pack. Thanks for sharing your story!💚
I took my Boxer Baylee for a walk in the local park where we encountered a pair of sand pipers and their 4 tiny chicks running around. I've taught Baylee that the birds are her buddies, "birdy buddies" and she actually followed one of the chicks and gently sniffed it. They were so adorable but mom and dad sandpipers were trying very hard to distract the "enemy" by feigning injury, spreading their wings out and flopping on the pavement all while pipping wildly. It was a most interesting encounter. After that, Baylee found a baseball in the field and just went crazy playing with it. ❤
That sounds like a wonderful walk with Baylee! It's always awesome to see dogs interact gently with other animals, especially when they are taught to be gentle and respectful. And how cute that Baylee has birdy buddies! It's also fascinating to watch the natural instincts of birds to protect their young, even from a gentle dog like Baylee. Thank you for sharing your lovely experience with us!🥰❤️

Exactly
@@HankHopeless You don't have to live up to it. Just aspire to live up to it. In other words, be your best self.
I agree. I have learned so much from my dog about loyalty and unconditional love.
Boxers are an absolute gift from God. I will have them as long as I'm in this life and the next as well. Thank you Yeshua ❤
Animals being bros is one of my favorite things
I miss my family boxer. We had him 16 years. He nearly died on like 5 different occasions. He was amazing. They are fantastic dogs.

My daughter’s Boxer, now sadly gone, was so gentle with her children when they were babies and toddlers. They are lovely dogs!!

I bet his tail would be constantly wagging if he had one 😤
Loved this! but the title is misleading. Practically no bird in this video :)
Why did they cut off his tail? I'm so glad tail docking is becoming less popular, it's extremely cruel.
Thats not a giant boxer. Hes average.
adorable story, but you still mutilated his tail.
