    The good news is that Crabtree and Evelyn is now reformulated and their soaps are really good now. There creams have always worked well.

    i think the only one i can use is the nivea sensitive balm, as a sensitive skin shaver i miss out on most of the soaps and after shaves

    there's one aftershave balm I keep on buying (cheap in price) but it's very high quality and fine aftershave balm, is Freshwood from Boots (chemist), it's their own brand and let me tell you, this is an awesome product, it has a very light woody-spicy smell that goes well with my other fragrances.
    Freshwood aftershave balm refreshes, calms, hydrates, cools, and soothes my face leaving a very light woody and spicy scent.

    Great suggestions. I generally use an after shave balm like Nivea and follow with a moisturizer like Cereve. L'Occitane has great products. Coincidentally, today I am wearing L'Occitane L'Occitan fragrance. Thanks for the video.

    Another great video Con, highly informative and entertaining! Must try the CAD from HTGAM; I have the Bay Rum soap and fancy a change. How would you describe the scent of CAD? Thanks again and keep'um coming!

    Crabtree and Evelyn sandalwood is my FAVORITE scent! I got the cologne and it is awesome! Imgot the cream and it lathers well! The only issue was on the third pass, but it was my fault, as I overwatered it! Give the Cream a try! It lathers better than the soap! ( bowl lather, at that!)

    Well done again Con. Really enjoy your videos. I also hate that greasy feeling that some products give you. Thanks for the recommendations.
    On a side note, I'm also a head shaver. Do you use a straight or DE on yours?

      @shavetheman  10 років тому

      Thanks Greg Snyder, I shave my melon with a DE. I'm not game enough to use a straight.......yet! ;)

    Excellent video!
    Have you tried MEN MACA ROOT RAZOR RELIEF from bodyshop?
    I have recently changed to this product and it is superb! It numbs and seals the nicks quickly that may have occurred through shaving.
    If you haven't tried, it's worth a review!

    I would rather have liked to hear the principle of the thing. When I feel I've been chemically damaged by soap, a soak with dilute (non stinging) vinegar restores pH. I think the "balms" essentially combine that function, generally overlooked, with gel moisturizer. With my oily skin however, I'd usually rather go the "lotion" route, the essential element of which (I believe) is oil. That relieves my skin of its natural tendency to produce more oil, and one might not appreciate how soothing that is until they have tried "oil cleansing." Some say that both approaches, balm and lotion, stand as an alternative to alcohol splash, which simply removes soap scum and leaves your skin to heal (or not) using its own resources.

      Interesting points Thad Launderville. Oils are a particularly effective way of cleansing oily skin. It sounds counter-intuitive, but all the literature that I have read on the topic seem to concur. Thanks for your feedback, it's much appreciated.
      Regards,
      Con

      Oil is such a versatile tool. I aborted a thin lather yesterday and just shaved with oil and water, as the bristles were already softened. Every time I put skin first, over closeness, I am rewarded.
