    You have it on upside down. The oil lines on the radiator should be at the top so it fills completely up. Otherwise the oil doesn't completely fill the radiator, it just passes threw the first core

    Just remember to cover with a welders blanket to prevent any further damage, as for the bbk you use some high temp spray paint in aluminum to cover up scouring just make sure it's for automotive 'because of gas great job as well.

    Hi i got the gy6 139qmb with a 105cc kit on it. I was thinking to do this also for my gy6 but i dont understand how it works because the oil pomp.is not directly feeding these oil lines so how does it even cools the oil?? Because my engine is since the 105 cc kit comes on it way too hot pleasse tell me

      Hello! About the component that mounts beneath the engine in lieu of the oil plug for the oil cooler, I submitted the same query. I've yet to hear back, however after analyzing the part from the photo I screenshot from this video, I learned the part is known as a "Oil Cooler Adapter Plug." I looked for the part he suggested, so I might be mistaken because I don't know much about motorcycle and/or moped maintenance and repair. I hope this is of use.

    Does the hose that oil goes through to the radiator need an oil filter? And does the other hose go to any kind of coolant or water supply ?

    • @jmrbuilds
      @jmrbuilds  2 роки тому

      The hose just comes out directly from the engine with the "hot oil' to the oil cooler and the the other one is just the return hose that comes from the oil cooler with the "cooler oil" back to the engine again , but there is not water or oil filter involved , there is and oil filter adapter you can buy to Install it to the engine but for my scooter it wouldn't work because the oil filter adapter sticks out too much from the bottom part of the engine that if I install it on my scooter is going to scrape on the floor since my scooter is so low but the oil filter adapter should work fine on a scooter that hasn't been lowered

    Me di de cuenta en 7:57 como ahora vas a poner el mofle. Lo malo de sordar Hierro con calamina es que con las vibraciones de la motora have que se parta, puedes hacer un tipo de base que puedas ajustar la pipa junto a la trasmisión o sordar un tipo de estilo de dirt bike.

    Will the oil pump on a qmb139 keep up with an oil cooler?

    • @jmrbuilds
      @jmrbuilds  Рік тому

      Thank you so much for watching and sorry for the late reply
      I didn't mentioned in the video but I have already installed a high flow oil pump in my engine like 2 years ago because I installed a 171cc big bore kit and also a a9 camshaft so just to be on the safe side I went ahead and installed the high flow oil pump when I did all the upgrades to the engine
      I know a couple of people that have an oil cooler with a stock engine and the scooter works just fine , but once you start messing around with camshafts and big bore kits I feel like is safer to go ahead and get a high flow oil pump just to make sure the engine is getting the proper lubrication since the RPMs of the engine are higher once you install a9 camshaft I don't think the stock oil pump is able to keep up with the higher RPMs of the engine for a extended periods of time (going full throttle) and I think that is the reason or cause of a premature engine failure, the lack of proper lubrication but for a stock engine I don't think installing an oil cooler should be a problem but I'm not an expert I'm just answering the question to the best of my knowledge and base on personal experience

    How much extra oil you need to put in for that oil cooler

    • @poysunivey
      @poysunivey 2 роки тому

      I pre fill the cooler with oil before I install it if the ports are going to be facing down. Otherwise you’ll get a big pocket of air stuck in the radiator, then it won’t work.

      That's a hard question honestly because I don't keep track of whatever I bought but for sure I know I already pass 600 dollars , and that is just the tires , rims , headlight ,brake levers and the big bore kit ,
      I was planning on doing a video about how much the build was once the scooter is put back together

    I still don't understand these oil coolers, does it actually work? Wouldn't you need a pump to circulate the oil.

    • @jmrbuilds
      @jmrbuilds  2 роки тому

      Thanks alot for watching the video , and about the oil pump , this gy6 engines already have a oil pump inside , so the oil that comes out of the engine is already pressurized but the pressure is not alot honestly, some people install the oil cooler in their stock gy6 and they don't have any problems, but in my build I already took the engine apart last year and I installed a high flow oil pump and a 171cc big bore kit with an oil cooler and I never had any problems, the oil cooler I installed in the video is just replacing the old one I used to have, I replaced the old one because that oil cooler was for a car ( for the transmission) and the bike didn't look right so I just went ahead and got a motorcycle oil cooler lol

    so this is a suck though system ? .... A lot of components and restrictions for the oil to get though before it gets to the pump and start to lubricate the motor.. It also seems the oil could drain back to the motor when to motor is not running.. Maybe the cooler should be the other way up so the oil can not drain from it.. " oil cooler inlet and out let the highest part of the system"
