- Here's out guide to visiting the Island of Utila. Located in Honduras Utila is part of the Bay Islands. In this episode we explore the island, show you around some of the best places to visit, go diving and give you a taste of Island life.
Utila attracts lots of scuba divers as it has fabulous diving at reasonable prices. If you are looking to do a diving qualification then Utila is a great place to do it. We went diving with Parrots Dive Center, which was a very professionally run centre and is owned by locals.

In case you don't know us - let us introduce ourselves - we are Chris (48) & Marianne (51). We are a married travel couple. We recently quit our jobs and sold our belongings to travel full time.
After more than 22 years of marriage we are still best friends
The aim is we are going to step foot in every country in the world before we die - or die trying !. We are currently also planning an epic around the world road trip. So stayed tuned for more clips as we TREAD the Globe in either Trudy the TREAD camper van or armed with our backpacks!
We will share with you our adventure and will post regular vlogs and videos of our full time travels showing the best the world has to offer and hopefully inspire you to travel more.
Currently we are backpacking our way around El Salvador and over the months will be continuing to explore and sharing the rest of Central America.

I am a Honduran who visited Berlin once. When they saw my passport at the airport, they thought the country was somewhere in Africa. Honduras is by no means a well known country in Germany. I saw that first hand. Hopefully that will change over time.

Been going to Utila since back in the 90's. Even owned houses in Blue Bayou. Diving is to die for. Friendly people have made many friends through the years. And yes I have seen a whale shark but it took many years. Nice video. Need to go back.

Oh that’s sad to see how little sea life is left , I bet the island is filled with seafood restaurants. I’m just in Belize diving they have basically killed everything here

Hi Rich - Thanks for your comment, We wear rashguards, that way we don't need to put suntan lotion (even marine safe stuff) in the sea and also it protects your skin as it has UV50 factor - they are a very thin material so you don't really notice you are wearing them - and they are light in your back pack 🐡🐟💜🌴👍😍 Hope this helps - You are going to have a brilliant time, Kind regards Marianne and Chris xx
I thought it was a dangerous place.
We didnt explore a lot of Honduras but we had a great time. Often you always hear the worst from our experiences some of the 'dangerous; countries are the most friendly - We always listen to locsl advice. Util and the surrounding islands are very safe and fun
