I am looking forward to have a Cold 🥶 Fall with a Sunny ☀️ Weather and a Cold 🥶 and Rainy and Snowy Winter ❄️. Because I really hate the Heat Wave 🥵🥵 and it makes me feel sick 🤒. I like the Cold Better.
The Hunga-tunga under ocean volcanic explosion blew massive amounts of ocean water into the stratosphere-and will take a while to precipitate back down to earth. So the odd floods in the desert and elsewhere maybe due to that precipitation of all of that extra water up there. Can the extra water in the stratosphere be seen from the space station? Could the extra water in the stratosphere filter the sunlight enough to cause the weakened El nińo?-will that extra water in the stratosphere cause another strong La Niña?-or is that stratospheric water precipitating out soon? 🤷♀️ lots of questions-
If it can just keep the temperatures down this July and August, I will tolerate low land snow. Just tolerate, not enjoy :-P Also thank you so much for your expertise Michael! You are indeed the best!
At my age,, I'm not sure I like any year anymore. It means one more candel on the cake with a load full of luggage. Digging out in winter,, looking for shade or snow,, in the heat of summer. If we could just have a little of both all mixed up together,, I'd hate that too😂
Where I live La nina typically means a summer with average temperatures (which until now it’s not happening yet) and a cold winter. But less destructive conditions than El nino.
I'm glad your lakes are good and full! Please stay cool in the heat :-) Let's share the rain with our friends in Alberta and British Columbia. They could sure use it!
Thanks! Watching for the first time since last winter/spring snow... It's been pretty self explanatory that it's been how, hot hot hot... haha Our local new actually got it right... Look forward to paying attention more as the months go on!
A shutdown of a major current in the Atlantic Ocean would rapidly transform wind, temperature, and precipitation patterns across the whole globe, according to new research.
Hi Michael. Just curious about the PDO. It’s in it’s cold phase currently and it’s believed to have kept this year’s El Niño in the moderate values. I.E. the pause this past year warming in 3.4. What’s you’re feeling on it’s effects on a building La Niña? Or is the PDO moving to its warm phase. Thanks
Well, Boss, just as long as we don’t get another heat dome! I’m also still concerned with the drought maps. The trees have not been happy coming into spring and just don’t look quite right. Drought stress accumulates year to year. The trees’ immune systems decline and bark beetles and fungal disease move in. And the entire forest goes down. Great work!
@@PacificNorthwestWeather agreed. Since it’s cycle is 20 - 30 years. Mark at Stormsurf has been been a mentor for Pacific Ocean and Sierra mountains forecasting for years now for me. He discussed recently how it may have affected the last El Niño. Any information I can absorb to better understand is appreciated! Thanks for your time and your channel. Watch it pretty much daily.
Thanks Michael for keeping us updated about our weather We are in Seattle Washington Our weather is going good compared to many places in the USA and the rest of the world Peace to All Please Stay Safe❤🥰😍💞

You’re the best!!! Appreciate your hardwork.
Bring on the lowland snow!
I Agree!
Great delivery of the information . Thanks for sharing and making this information interesting and upbeat.
What the heck?! Again?!?!
Yes but its looking like a very weak one maybe borderline neutral
Here in sw hi desert not much of an el nino
This is encouraging news, thanks. I'm a fruit grower in WA, and I'd also rather not be on fire.
Well, with cold water off South America, they will be happy because colder water means better commercial fishing
Woo! Hoping all this snow still hanging around and the potential incoming la niña help heal our dwindling glaciers in the coming years.
It would be fun to see how last years predictions for these months worked out.
a very nice detailed explanation looking forward to hopefully a cool damp summer and maybe a cold snowy winter

Thank you, Michael! Yay, hello La Nina!
Been waiting for this episode.
This is the one I’ve been waiting for!
Agree I’ve been hoping for this video explanation about the impacts this summer/fall/winter for La Niña here in PNW!
I just discovered your channel and immediately hit the like and subscribe. Thank you for your in depth forcast!
Will the Cold 🥶 come to Florida during the Fall and Winter
Superb presentation. Thanks for sharing your expertise!
Early!
Yes, we all want cooler weather and we prefer to have rain and snow any day than the event of a fire. Be grateful for cool weather.

Multiple wind storms this year.
Yes, please!
Just stopping by to say hello!😃
@@terryfraatz424 hello, friend!
Thank you, Michael. Can you comment on your understanding of how space weather and the sun cycle (cycle 25) might impact earth weather?
Science! I'm hoping we don't have a green tomato summer.
Always enjoy La Niña years more than El Niño … thanks for the details for what’s like to show up next!!

Noooooo... I want the rain. 😢
Thanks for the deep dive!
Thank you!!
🤙Aloha from the norCal border y'all. Learning a lot here Mahalo
Yay! So looking forward to a nice cooler pattern! Tired of Hot Summer! Gotta love my girl, LA Nina!🥰
I don't give a dam about 3.5. Just tell me your weather predictions.

Awesome, we here in the SW happily want to send back the jet stream to the PNW.
Yes please!?
You need it more than us.....
Forever Autumn!🍁🐿🌰🦆🍂
@user-qh4uo7kt3h nah, all our lakes are at 100%.
I'm glad your lakes are good and full! Please stay cool in the heat :-) Let's share the rain with our friends in Alberta and British Columbia. They could sure use it!
The past 2 years of weather in the PNW reminds me of the weather from the 1970s. More of it, please.
Actually I’m waiting for El Padre !!!!!!!
❤
👍
so i don't speak spanish..is this gonna be a taco bell year or a del taco year?
I realize this is a PNW forecast but still asking…does La Niña mean a drier year for central California? Thanks anyone.
Well , most years yes
@@PacificNorthwestWeather Thank you.
La niño chaser!
This wasvery informative! Thank you. 👍🏻👍🏻

Yay!
I wish I knew what these reports implicates.
I Better order up some more propane and get the generator ready for extended use.
🍻
Excellent analysis!
Will it delay to september - November 😢
soooo, what exactly does this even mean?
🤞🤞🤞
Thanks!
Welcome!
Light rain South Hill, Puyallup started 08:25 a.m.
Thanks, Michael! I'm keeping my fingers crossed! 🤞🤓🤞
20 years too early
La Niña
Less rain for California in the winter
Not good equals fire
🙏 hoping conditions change for big rainstorms to return.
Looking forward to the cooler weather and SNOW!
Nice, hope that there's tons of snow this winter time in PNW!
YES ❄️ ⛄️ ❄️⛄️❄️⛄️
There has been a lot of talk about the shut down of the AMOC but no one speculates about the effect on the pacific weather systems any ideas?

Studying up now, but the PDO is tougher to forecast and its effects more difficult to quantify

Thank you for all the great updates. I’m trying to stay updated. I am up here right now in Mount Rainier in Washington for vacation.
Great explanation and information. Fingers crossed from the western rockies and Unintas
I like La Niña she’s kept our forests safe here in Western Washington
Great stuff ! Thanks 😊
what R U talking about?
its a mystery
It depends on weather you understand or not. 😂😂😂
I love snow. ❄️ how much do you want?
TONS❄️❄️🙏🏻🙏🏻
Finally some real climate science.
I want the Seattle summers we had when I moved here in the 80s. ☹️ This post gives me hope. The last 7 summers have been brutal.
for those actually wondering the relevant info starts at 9:16
I forget, does La Nina mean more rain or more drought? Just when I think rain is coming we get another No CA and So OR drought 🌞🌥🌞
Drought in South West. :(
