Loved watching and honestly, I love it ALL! South end has always been my fave, since around ‘69 when the Beachcomber was on 59th! America’s Greatest Family Resort.. ♥️
In the 60’s and 70’s my brothers and I loved biking through the Gardens and playing at the North Street playground. Our great grandmother and her second husband lived at #6 Second Street and we stayed up the alley on the first floor of a three story rental at 225 Bay Ave across from a cove at Steelman’s later Sampson Brothers Marina and in the next block from Harbor House. We would visit the Coast Guard station and swim in the lagoon or borrow the USCG dingy. A bunch of families from our Philly High School stayed in OCNJ in the summer. Days on the beach and nights on the boardwalk. Days all along the bay front and dropping our crab baskets at the piers. Great days. I took my 3 kids when they were coming up and now we visit with our grandson. Our houses are long gone so we do a day trip from Philly. I live in Georgia now but I have great memories of OCNJ.
Back in 1970s you could buy one of those four-story summer homes ran out three stories spend the summer in the middle one and you spend maybe 35 to 40,000 I now see the prices millions
A house on let’s say 10th and Central 25,000 in the 70s and had income coming in remember in those days you had to make all your money the summer save it so you could survive the winter
What would the neighborhood behind the boardwalk be considered. In the late 70’s we you to come and my parents would rent a huge house. I would like to do that next summer.
Hey Sam, permits are available for the southernmost section of OC beaches that are owned by the State. You can't drive on the beach in the summer but you can during all the other seasons. You would have to contact the NJ state park services for the permit. If you want summer access I would recommend Brigantine. That is where we all go during summer. Enjoy!
The Bay Area was a lot of fun when they had the night in Venice boat parade
The Gardens neighborhood was always the upper class of Ocean City The beaches were really beautiful and very natural
Yeah, Bay Avenue neighborhood had that little nine hole golf course and the airport was there you could fly in. It was really cool.
The summer we would have the Shoe bees

Isn't it amazing how much this sleepy island has changed. Some say for the better and others say for the worst. What do you think?
Love all of the neighborhoods...clean crime free!
All
It's a great place to visit and live! Hope to see you on the beach.
Hey another Fantastic video, keep cranking out that content!

The south end used to always remind me of Avalon or Sea Isle city cities to the south
You forgot to mention the dead-head encampment under 9th st. bridge
lol
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it

I love OC. Sounds like you are selling homes.
Thanks Ann Marie! I am always looking to grow my business so if you know anyone that I can help please send them my way
I lived in downtown Ocean City
In the 1970s, you could buy a house at 14th and Wesley for about 45 $50,000

The technical name for that part of town is Central but it is commonly referred to as "Downtown"
I own a Nissan Xterera 4x4. Would I need a special license to drive it on the Ocean City beach?
