However, being a retired veteran myself, I personally think Senator Kelly's military background, governance experience in the Senate, and affiliation with one of the battleground states makes him the best complement to Vice President Harris, hopefully, soon to be President Harris.

There might be politicians that are more exciting and personable than Senator Kelly. However, being a retired veteran myself, I personally think Senator Kelly's military background, governance experience in the Senate, and affiliation with one of the battleground states makes him the best complement to Vice President Harris, hopefully, soon to be President Harris.
Pete Buttigieg is military, and has "the gift of the gab". He's been on Fox several times and scored points against them.

Mark Kelly wouldn't be my heart's first choice, but he is definitely the VP candidate with the most all-around upside to complement the ticket in this specific race. The others all come with an asterisk or redundancies. Biden carried Arizona last time and Josh Shapiro is also a great pick and it would be great to pick up Pennsylvania but with the war in Gaza and Shapiro being Jewish there are some voters that will pull out the antisemitic card and either sit out or vote the other way.
Well, I don't agree about the antisemetic card. Kamala's husband is Jewish. I'm not crazy for Shapiro, personally. I would like politicians to bring back civility and he likes to curse. I'm a born and bred Brooklyn girl so cursing is not shocking to me, but I don't like to hear public officials doing it. There are a lot of young people and muslims that are against the war on Hamas and they may not like Shapiro as the VP.

It's becoming more of a sell than a pick. Kelly's success at glomming onto his wife politically is certainly attractive to the party, but if he is half as good as everyone says, they'll pass on him. Same issue they had with Biden. It gets harder and harder to find good looking unqualified help who can BS their way through life convincing you they care.
