Yes it did help someone. We have been stuck on this mr2 door for 9 hours. After watching your video 20 minutes later it was fixed 😀 thank you for this detailed video
So some comments below asking how I got the window out. Decided to re-watch some of my old videos tonight and while doing so, noticed that the window is still in the door after I have the regulator out. You can see it at one point when I pan the camera over to my temporary garage/shed thing. So, to answer the question: No, you don't need to take the window out! I miss this car. Hope this video still helps a few people out there!
Do you do any setting of the gears before putting the regulator?? I installed my regulator and my window all the way up in Auto, hits the upper door pillar to close then goes down again in about 5 inches.. What might be the problem??

Any idea on window removal though
The more I think about it, the more I don’t think I had to take the window completely out. I believe I was able to work around it somehow.
how on earth did you take the window out?
Viseth Sen I honestly don’t remember completely, but I do remember undoing a few bolts and the window slipping out from the top.
Exactly... that is why I watched the damn video
Lu Si after thinking about this a little, i remembered you don’t need to take the window out to do this. Window was still in the car when I did this.
If you do want to take the window out there's about 4 bolts literally on the window.
Is the window regulator similar to the Celica window regulator
Juan Morales yes I believe it is similar in Toyotas of the same vintage. Not positive though.

Edward Kanyi hmm no it was a while ago but if I remember correctly I didn’t have to pre-set anything. Not sure why your window would do that.
What speakers did you get and from where
I honestly forgot what speakers they were. I got them from Crutchfield.
