I remember playing this game thinking Miwako was the only one with a believable Japanese accent. However, because I am not Japanese nor do I speak Japanese, I wasn't entirely too sure. Well, turns out Miwako is the only actual Japanese voice actor in the game in a game about Japanese people and culture lol
It's a good thing that this game doesn't have a drinking game associated with it. Drink anytime Nancy says "What do you mean?", you wouldn't be drunk you'd be dead.
I see where you're coming from, but slightly inaccurate. Medically speaking, even the hardest core drinker would pass out long before reaching the lethal limits.
I did. well, not with the lights off but at night. I didn't get scared practically at all... but I've watched sooo many dumb Netflix horrors I'm used to this and I don't get scared that easily now. I hate jump scares tho - a lot of horrors seem to rely on those these days but I don't like em. however, this game seemed terrifyin for me when I was younger(the first time I watched that playthrough I escaped after that bathroom scare sequence. now I'm 26 years old and watching this from like 10 pm to 2 am didn't do nothing to me, I wasn't scared at all actually... and I fell asleep easily, goin to the bathroom at night was not an issue at all. and I live alone. maybe it's called getting older(imma hit 26 at the very last day of may... where the fuck did that time go, nobody knows, I just remember being seventeen, takin my ACTs, graduatin from high school...) or getting older + being used to rated 16+ horror movies...
I wish they had someone different to voice the grandmother. She sounds like someone who was told **once** that the Japanese use their own alphabet to say English words because they don't have certain letters, barely learned the basic romaji, and then winged it from old Godzilla movies. A Japanese person would have used better word blending (you find out in like 2nd or 3rd year high school Japanese in the form of advanced katakana combinations), and also would have said it much more fluidly.
The weird thing for me is in every scene the robotic doll is in it looks like it’s at least as tall as Nancy but then at the end where it traps you underwater and you get out and actually get to look at it…. It’s really small looking… 👀 like-
I love game. One thing though that has always bothered me about this game outside of what is commonly called out by fans - the lack of healing that has taken place in the family. From the gaslighting customers including Nancy to the anger and resentment they harbor for each other. Its never touched on or even really called out. Edited to add: there is a brief moment where she explains why they blame themselves but it goes deeper than that.
Once you look back after you find out the who and the why behind the *haunting.* Imagine thinking you're being chased through the dark woods by a vicious wolf just tor realize it's a lost Labrador puppy.
I like how in the last game Nancy wouldnt stop asking Pa about his dead wife and in this one she won't stop bothering the family about their dead mom/daughter. Nancy has no tact lol
That bad nonogram puzzle needed to have better shading. The hardest part for my low vision self is trying to remember what is shaded, what is not, and what isnt decided yet. Only fox and geese is worse for me

No one:
Nancy:
Gets haunted by a terrifying ghost in the bathroom… proceeds to take a bath.
Girl, run!
This is the best game and I’ll die on that hill

or “I need something to make this work”

One of the Scariest Nancy Drew games I've Ever watched. I Triple Dog Dare Anyone to watch this at night, and with no lights on.

Easy. It just isn't scary to me. 🤷🏻

You took forever on Sudoku? You're off the case!
My favorite thing is that you haven't failed to miss one of these on every game so far in the mega marathon lol
Not Paula Santos 😭
Arglefumph will you be enjoying the Dossier cases as part of this mega marathon???? Thank you for the Nancy Drew Fun times!!!!
Did you know pachinko is the only legal form of gambling in Japan so Nancy is technically gambling is this game?
Eek, the HER message boards would be shook! 😛
Well this is quite fascinating 🤔😅😂
I forget where/when I learned this but I immediately thought of this game lol

It sounds like an AI voice that was fed words spoken by someone with a thick Japanese accent 🥲
I always got lost when trying to find my room and granny's room lol

I don't like how Nancy acts in this game. Like she's always nosey but in this game she comes across as really intrusive and disrespectful
i played this one with my girlfriend and i had to step away and let her do the writing puzzle because i got so frustrated 😭
I was just in Japan, and I can guarantee you that the trains in this game are more complex than the ones in Japan. 🤣

Oh no! Nancy! You made letters that aren't right! You know what that means! *kicks her out*
1:02:29 I’m more of a sliding puzzle type of sleuth. 😅
Once you look back after you find out the who and the why behind the *haunting.* Imagine thinking you're being chased through the dark woods by a vicious wolf just tor realize it's a lost Labrador puppy.
I don’t know who was that woman but she looks great
LOOL wow 2:20:07
I used a mouse for the katakana writing, worked pretty well.
well poo, was gonna ask everyone's favorite foods/treats from japan .sorry i missed stream
Mine are sushi, ramen, and miso soup.
I love sushi and I also love mochi but only the one with ice cream in it.
That fucking string puzzle 😭
That puzzle got the best of me 😭
