Hallowed ground. I visited it in 1993. Majestic and historic. June 6, 1944 it was scene of incredible carnage. 1000s died on that day. Many knew they would as the day begun...yet they went anyway. And so it goes. Honor rests here.
My grandma landed in Normandy, and was wounded in The Netherlands. I never got what he did, and how brave he was until I was older. What a brave man, Delmar Weberg.
We can never thank these hero’s enough . I love my county and it always brings tears to my eyes when I see these tributes. I come from a military family. We are so lucky to live here. We should never forget or take it for granted..
My Uncle landed in Normady D-Day plus thirteen. His regiment has the dubious honor of being in combat the longest without a break! He absolutely refused to talk about it. They fought in Tunisia, Sicily, landed in Italy and then Normandy. They were attached to Patton's Division to rush 100 miles in winter without sleep to save the101 first airborne at Bastogne. They then went into Germany liberating three concentration camps. He came back with a stutter and severe ptsd, (survivors guilt). Was a functioning alcoholic all his life and never missed a days work! Truly a part of the GREATEST GENERATION. The generation that saved the the world from Fascism. Today 40+ percent of Americans want to take us down that evil path.
I am Irish, have visited Omaha and Utah beaches, as well as the American cemetery. Very moving experience. The world has to be so thankful for the bravest of the brave, young men who gave everything.
Victory came at a tremendous cost, but if the allies didn’t win the fight against Nazi tyranny, there’s no way a family would be able to walk so freely upon the shores of Normandy. (1:02) Like many, I too am so thankful for their sacrifice. Thank you for posting this video.
THANK YOU , ALL WHO SAID YES, TO SAVE THE WORLD. My grandpa was asked to stay home and bake bread for the troops. He had 1 child my Mom. I'm proud of him. My uncle few on a air craft carrier I am proud of him. Im proud of the cooks, the mules, the horses, the people who build machines, the boys , and the women who said yes. Im proud of the prayer warriors, who held demons at bay, or soothed the injuries, both in the spirit and in the flesh. God bless them, they said yes.
May they never be forgotten. June 6, 2021

😢😢😢😢😢😢oh God thank all of you you gave your lives unfortunately they were really taken away
Thank for your comment
What's left of what they fought for? We didn't deserve their sacrifice still the Lord knows
Their sacrifice was not in vain, even if you don't like today's world, you can bet, the world would be far uglier if the other guys had won.
Exatly ! Thank you
