Im Michael Ridge, Im a modern day American horse nomad. I started at age 23 and will be 34 years old on 7/11 2023. Like and Subscribe to follow along the nomad journey. As long as water flows and grass grows I'll be on my Ponies.
My dog Morning is 5 years old and my Mule has been with me since day 1. She was a gift from the chief of Police in Enterprise Oregon back in the summer of 2013. Both my bay mares are Umatilla Reservation Mustangs from the 2014 Rez roundup. I got them as weened foals at 3 months old. they grew up in this nomadic journey with me for the first three years alongside my previous string of horses until they became my string of horses.

Did you just have a visit with Idaho Hillbilly? He mentioned a guy who winters in a teepee!
Yes
thank you for sharing
Subscribing if you ever upload longer videos...
Spent a couple winters in one of them, & another at 10,000 feet in 2 moving van pads
Gave me a real appreciation of creature comforts. Just the same, I'm thinkin'
of making another 20 footer now slightly more Hi-tech. Them's nice poles ya got.
Came straight over when I saw your story Once again brother thank you for the motivation and the reminder that living free is still possible in this beautiful world ….also started cutting patterns for my buckskin pants !!! -Don Cheech

Nothing like staying in tipi …. The best . I was fortunate enough to stay in one while living in Oregon. Beautiful experience. Waiting on the day to get my own .
Very cool used to watch you on TikTok but deleted it awhile back
Nice thanks for making the trek to yt
I lived a winter in a tp but had a skirt that helped alot.
This is worth enjoying, cool guy
This is criminally underwatched, good luck this winter!!
That’s a very kind thing to say. Thank you
Would have loved to have done this when younger. Could not deal with the cold. My joints would hurt too bad.
This is pretty coool and I look forward to more content!

You are amazing
Always intriguing to see your camp and activities. I hope you have a good safe riding season. Got in a wreck myself on March 1st and that has squashed all my horse training for a few months . I hope you stay safe and healthy 💓 🐎🤠
Been 50 years since I worked with horses, my grandfather's corral once
set in the middle of downtown Colo.Sprs.(horses & mules bought & sold)
He died at 90 when I was 3. ifffin' yur cute.,I could use a refresher course.

My wife & I were married on 11Jul89. Yes I subscribed.
i wish i could hang out with this guy
Great editing !!! Let me know if you want to edit more videos. Lol.
How far north do you stay in the winter? I travel on my cheap old Honda motorcycle a lot in winter, and spend most of that time in the backcountry on public land. I’m in Nebraska, so I need a couple of nice days to get south. Then I’ll spend a month or two in the Southwest, and Mexico. I’ve never thought about wintering in the northern part of the the US, but it looks interesting. I spent a month in northern Canada and Alaska this summer, but I think I’ll just go to higher elevations in the future. Elevation beats latitude when you’re looking for cooler weather anyway :)
One more thing…
you definitely have me beat when it comes to aesthetic lifestyle. I’m just a dirt bag :)
I’m intrigued, especially because you go by horse/pack animals. Do you sell your wares to create the income to feed the animals particularly in the winter?
Hey partner. How do you deal with flies in the tipi? This year just seems horrible(full time living). Also what stove fo you use for winter?
Where did you get teepee?
How many of the hats do you make?
You must love Native culture lol
You are so beautiful 😍
yes its a mad world its good too just go too some wild far off place and get away from it all
Michael…. I have property in Southern California.. let me know if you would like to stay on my land. 😉. It’s about 8 acres near the Temecula area. The property is nearly fenced in. Plus electricity, water, septic, gas $ wifi
