ICE shunts at Gympie North

The Gympie North ICE train (151 and 156) shunt at Gympie North to allow a late Q992 from Rockhampton arrive. The ICE then returns for its run back to Brisbane.

Are the ICE trains always 5 cars long or can they be doubled? (I'm from NSW)

Back in the day they were between 6 fi 8 cars long when they did the spirit of Capricorn to Rockhampton now replaced by the tilt train
