I bought the Consevisen Electric Baby Nail Trimmer/File for a new mom-to-be and she LOVED it. She found it incredibly convenient and easy to use. Her daughter is now at the age where the nails are a bit harder to manage because she's a little squirmer. However, she's able to still use this while her daughter is AWAKE! It actually makes her giggle because of the vibration. This plus the baby-safe nail polish I gave her has led to bonding time with mom and baby mani/pedis! 💞

I’m due in December with my 3rd but my youngest is 5.5 so I’m having to buy everything again. I’m in the uk so I dunno if there’s a difference in products. One thing that I look forward to using again, is a cover for the shopping trolley seat. I had one with my youngest and it was so handy, I didn’t have to worry about him chewing on the handle, it had a buckle which was handy as some shops here have trolleys without a seatbelt strap. It had a Velcro pocket at the back which I would put his snacks in 😂 it had a plastic hoop for attaching toys to. I got so many compliments about it.

On the change pad, I used puppy pads instead of a cover! They’re absorbent so pee won’t just pool underneath the fabric, easy to clean up, affordable, if I doesn’t get wet then I can just reuse it, and protects from the coldness. Very useful for new born twins 😂

    Three kiddos here!
    1. I mostly use the nursing pillow for tummy time.
    2. I too have a wipeable changing pad now as a replacement for the original and it is so much better.
    3. I have that same exersaucer thingy and love it. They are controversial but mine all hit normal mobility milestones and it’s a great way to keep them safe and entertained for a bit.
    4. Never used a bottle warmer as they are so slow. We do a quick brew of hot water from the keurig into a bowl and dunk the milk in that.
    5. Used many different bibs. None have been perfect thus far.
    6. I also hate the suction bowls as they never stay. I too just take my chances with regular ones, or better yet plop food right onto the tray then wash it.
    7. I have the Ubi diaper pale and haven’t used it in ages as it once got gross and no matter how much I clean it it just immediately goes right back to gross.
    8. Considering getting the elephant sprayer. I think my kiddos would love it.

I love the hatch, turning it on or off by app is one of the best features. They also now sell a travel version that’s rechargeable. The boppy is also great for tummy time or sitting/lounger. The my breast pillow is better for breastfeeding. For heating up bottles just put the bottle in a cup with hot water from the tap, takes a couple of minutes. I have the same change pad as Rachael and I never use covers, I use the pad on its own and it cleans just fine. The obbi diaper can, you use regular garbage bags and it contains the smell pretty good.

As a plus sized momma that had to use nipple shields, a nursing pillow was a must. Both my kids preferred the football hold, so I didn't have the dexterity to support their head, hold my breast back so they could breath around the shield, and support their weight. I had a lot of struggles with nursing both my kids, but the boppy was something I could always rely on for at least making positioning easy. I don't have experience with other brands, but I would highly recommend getting a nursing pillow if you are a larger lady.

After an error with the regular nail trimmer that we never wanted to experience again, the electric trimmer is great! I have considered the bath elephant for a while, and now I might have to purchase it! But the NAIL FILE is one of my faves. Use the right grit head (mine has 3 different grits) and it takes two seconds to get a nail done with no stressing about hurting little ones. I registered for a 3 pack of covers and I just toss the dirty cover in with our sheets. I only ever used my (off-brand) boppy for tummy time with my son, cause he was bottle fed and for bottle warmers, I used the Dr. Brown's bottle warmer. As a first time new mom, we’ve definitely gotten quite a lot of things people swore by that we haven’t liked, but the two things we have used religiously since bringing our girl home is out Kindii bottle and storage system and our PopYum bottles. The Kindii system has just made the cycle of pumping/storing/feeding so much easier as everything is all compatible and convertible. We also have been loving the PopYum bottles, which I originally put on our registry cause I figured they’d be great for travel, but we have found we love them in general. It makes it so easy to prep the bottles while we are still sane enough to count and just have them at the ready for when we need to fill in a feed with formula instead. It’s really taken the pressure off me too cause it makes my husband feel a lot more prepared to be left with the baby by himself whenever I need to sleep.

I have two mattress covers for each kiddo and I put on one then the sheet and then another cover and sheet over that. My son loved his boppy… he is 14 and we finally had to give it up last year. He used to use it to rest his head and neck on when he played video games. I hardly ever used it as a nursing pillow, but he loved it as his curly up body pillow when he was little. It was like his safety blanket and it everywhere with us. He is the one he let go last year and I have to say mom (me) had a hard time letting it go.

On the bottle warmer, we used a RapidCool - formula powder and boiling water straight in, shake for 2mins max and when the logo turns green it’s the perfect temperature. Ideal!

32:47 For my grandkids, when they were in strollers, I used a backpack with netting on the side for bottles or drinks. We used carabiners to attach the backpack to the stroller. Just a suggestion 😊 from Ohio🇺🇸

I have the frida baby electric nail file and LOVEEEE it! It has different file attachments from newborn all the way to adult and 2 speed setting. I have an 11 week old and I was terrified to use a nail clipper cuz she’s so squirmy, the e-file might be my fav thing ever

I have a globally disabled child, and the electric nail files really make a difference, some brands come with different "heads" for the age of the child, so if it wasn't one of those it could've been too dull of a grit? I guess to do what it should do. I will note it does take some time to the trims down, like angle-wise and such but I also think we have added time because he's past the 12mo mark. >< I used to sneak into his bedroom like a nightninja with a headlamp flashlight and try to trim his nails to avoid a meltdown, but now I can do my nails, and then his nails, and he tolerates it much better. Maybe this might help someone on the fence - maybe not but thought I'd share!
Lo is also right about the board thing being better for the legs for the exceriser bouncer thingy!

I got my 4 year old niece a bunch of toy fish with magnets and 2 magnetic fishing poles (so she could pretend to fish in the bathtub). She LOVED it but after a bath, there were like 35 plastic fish in the tub. I think that pool skimmer-like netting to hold bath toys would have been perfect for this!

On the changing pad we use the smaller washable covers you are supposed to take in a diaper bag on top of the main sheet so any accidents, we just throw those in the wash instead of the big sheet!

We've had the Dohm white noise machine since 2005 (it still works!) because my husband worked night shifts and would be loud on the stairs coming in at 6am, which would wake our (at the time) toddler up. So we got this and have travelled with it a lot...it's great in a hotel room where you can hear doors and ice machines, people in the hall...and on cruises where the rooms are too quiet. We ended up getting a 2nd one (since we now have 3 kids and we now use one, and thought the youngest might do well with one but she didn't like white noise, so we just have a spare...but our original 2005 one still works!)

I'm a mom of 2, but we lived in very small apartments when they were born, so we didn't have room for anything (e.g. we used a pack n' play instead of a crib). So my essentials were simply muslin blankets/swaddles, changing pad liners (just throw the liner on the ground and, voila, instant changing station), nail scissors, and the nose Frida thingy. Pretty much everything else can be done with normal household stuff. We didn't even use a baby tub--we just showered with them.
My advice to new moms is to hold off on buying all the stuff until after your baby is born. Then as you go through those first few weeks, you'll realize where your pain points are and be able to get the things that will actually address them the best way for you and your family.

For nail files- Amazon calls it Consevisen baby nail electric nail file. 14k reviews 4.5 stars. I’ve had this to babies and it worked well. In the newborn stage when their nails are super thin it works well. Even when I switched to clippers I liked following up with this bc it really helps soften any sharp edges. Best of luck in your pregnancies and deliveries! ❤

The electric nail file worked okay for smoothing out the edges of little one's nails. I highly recommend just using cuticle nippers for cutting baby's nails! It works so much better, and you can actually see what you are doing.

My son is currently 30 yrs old. The noise machines weren't a thing when he was a baby. What we did was, we made a lot of noise during nap time and bedtime. As he grew, he could sleep through anything, and he still does.
