The thing I love about Dan is how he adjusts. He doesn’t have a big ego and he works hard. If he makes a mistaken a game, you hardly will ever see that mistake made again. With Mario on the other hand if he makes a mistaken game you’ll see that mistake over and over again.

Dakorien almost certainly got about the same cash offer from Texas's NIL (would guess a little north of 1 million). Texas ain't poor -- not by a damn sight.
Probably there were some Nike opportunities Texas couldn't do, but the bags were going to be commensurate with Dakorien's market value.

Oregon has a freaking head of Nike spending millions and millions by himself.
Other schools dont have boosters willing to go that hard for a bunch of kids who could easily be busts. They'll do a few, but not what Oregon is doing. TAMU already showed you this wasn't the way.
Look closer into where Oregon ranks in the NIL spending. Hanging around 10th or so. Last week Texas was number one! Oregon is getting top players because of Oregon and the coaching staff too. Sure NIL is there but that's not the only reason top their athletes are wanting to be at Oregon.

They are spending an obscene amount of money. Now it has to fall on Lanning. Them winning/not winning a championship in the next couple of years will 100% be on his shoulders.
However Oregon fans will probably be too tunnel visioned to understand with this, but when you lead with money, you will fall with money. Those kids are only there for the payday meaning you might lose a chunk of them after one year. And they will 100% expect you to increase payments if they turn out good. Spending a million each on skill positions is going about it the wrong way IMO. They don't call them divas for no reason.
The thing you have to understand is people love playing at Oregon. The money is a bonus, but they love Eugene, they love the uniforms, and the love the coaching staff. Even though Oregon has never won a championship, key players have never transferred to another program, they always believed Oregon had a shot. And they were right.
This year is no different, they are playing for the highest trending program in the nation with a head coach that everyone loves and respects in Oregon. We aren’t leading with money, we are leading with culture. Money is just a bonus.
