It's a great game, love the management process of these RTS games when chilling, then out bug hunting to see if your plan sinks or swims. All wrapped in a lovingly recreated Alien Universe. The soundtrack and the soundscape is the biggest and best thing of the game whenever you're standing toe to toe, or forced to retreat low on ammo and a marine slung over the shoulder. The devs have done a brilliant job. My only gripe is the particular save game mechanics. You can't just drop the game when you want, either force through the mission to a natural save point via the story, or forced to use your limited toolbits to weld up a saferoom and action a save game rest.

When you say game clock do you mean something that keeps making the game harder? Yes it’s called ‘infestation’ and it makes more enemies spawn at each level
@Legacy Gaming no I mean, a clock that slowly fills up after every mission and automatic game over when it's filled, basically forcing you to speed to the end

Really glad I watched this review. I thought the game was turn-based and that's a no for me. I've tried many times to play turn-based games but I just can't get into them.
I know exactly what this is missing... A Predator. Hopefully a sequel or DLC can add this in. Then we can have a stalker type opponent that tries to hunt and target our strongest marines.
@AC-hj9tv It's $60 where I live, it's $40 in the US, I'm not denying that I'm just saying it's not $40 everywhere. It's still a little bit cheaper than games sold not only in America but in Canada.

Ok, you've convinced me. I don't like ARPG's but this is significantly different. There is actually a precedent of sorts, which is the UFO: Aftermath series. That was significantly different, there was an action point system combined with the real time action, but the overall result seems similar. I liked those games (although they are dated ands have some issues) and have been keeping an eye out for something in that line, and this might well fill the niche.

It’s not a super extensive customization experience but it’s pretty cool that there are a decent amount of options to customize your soldiers. You can change names and add nicknames, and when you get different classes, they have their own customization options.
Aliens DD is fun. I been playing it since launch. Let me tell you it aint a walk in the park. I started on medium and boy was i in for a suprise. Dont get me wrong you can upgrade your characters & make them strong & unlocking new weapons which is cool but its still a challenge. I will give it a 8.0/10
Fantastic game with lots of premise (prologue could be a bit shorter 😆) I bought it, still I hope there is a demo in the near future for those still wondering if it is a game for them.
How long did it take you to complete the game? Given that you mentioned missions are linear and not procedural I'm curious about how long it takes to finish a playthrough.
It’s gonna be about 20-30 hours because of the difficulty and how many times you could extract and renter missions. It’s flexible all things considered
I’m enjoying the game so far, but I wish it was more like XCOM with turn base strategy. My biggest complaint is I can’t individually move the Marines during battle so it’s a set mess. I did find out to pick up centuries in other parts of the map, you can send Marines out, which is funny to watch them.
For this money (if you like tactical strategy games) this game is "must have". Next month is Jagged Alliance 3... damn its good period for this forsaken and underrated genre
I had seen so many reviews talking about two things it fits the entire vibe, looks and authenticity of this universe. And the basic overview that you'd get from the website or something. Things like amputations and artificial limbs. The ways to speed run healing, and training. The way the hunt system, the way you explained aliens can grab the marine. The way you explained how the soliders are controlled and more. When there's no Twitter. Or any real marketing team. That means us fans have to sell it... And if i had heard another review like "game is scary 6/10 " I'd pull my hair out. There is a lot going on here and so many reviewers and fans don't have any way to play it for hours. A lot of these elements really change and reinforce this belief of i don't like X-Com and games like it. But I adore the Aliens Universe. Therefore this was a good investment. I have had so many doubts for over a month now about if i did the right thing preordering, but your review is the only one i feel that actually properly sells the damn product when no one else will. Subbed.

Is there a way to beat back the Doom Clock count down?
Great video! I saw a customization tab for your individual marines. Are you able to change their name and appearance?
Yep you sure can!
It’s not a super extensive customization experience but it’s pretty cool that there are a decent amount of options to customize your soldiers. You can change names and add nicknames, and when you get different classes, they have their own customization options.
i am hooked best one i have played played all of them over the years from the first one
The prologue is obscene with how long it is. I just wanted to get to my marines so I did not care to play the prologue for so long
How long did it take you to complete the game? Given that you mentioned missions are linear and not procedural I'm curious about how long it takes to finish a playthrough.
It’s gonna be about 20-30 hours because of the difficulty and how many times you could extract and renter missions. It’s flexible all things considered
@@LegacyGamingUS Thank you!
Great review. Was going to pick this up for $20 on Amazon but realized this is game is not for me.
Way more work and time than i am willing to put in.
Been playing it all day, pretty fun was worth my 40$
Glad you enjoy it!
Can’t wait to play this
You record the audio in your car?
Hiding in a locker. Facehuggers all around

I knew it! Lol
Can you play this with keyboard and mouse on PS5
Can this be played with a controller?
I mist try this game.. i was playing fire team elite but it was so so.. I'm hoping this game is better
I still dont get what you use engineers for got like 4 of em n still havent figured how to use them
Let’s have a brutally honest review of the microphones quality. Sorry I mean tin can.
As noted the studio is undergoing some changes. Had to make do with my backup setup
It's space comms rádio effect
Subbed.
Is it top down?
Real time is so much better than turn based. Seems we finally got a sequel for Fallout Tactics guys !
I was pleasantly surprised myself. Definitely opened my eyes to a type of game I’ve never really experienced before
Not really...they are both good for different reasons.
@@batteredwarrior turn based is nice to avoid microgestion for sure, but for solo games real time is much more immersive.
Pre-ordered and have no regrets, such a good game! Happen to find thru the store out of the blue a month ago
Playing it rn, ant it is completely worth it!
Don't listen to this guy, the storyline is just amazing!
As for everything else, he is right, the game is fantastic.
yes, it's a great game, truly enjoying it.
The Motion tracker though :(
As soon as I saw the game play this immediately reminded me of alien versus predator extension just a marine part
Sick game but everyone slagging it off for some reason......no clue why it was one of my faves this year by far
