I'm not a fan of kits, but this is definitely one that I'm going to be getting. I'm always wanting more worn out, grungy, or old Build/Buy items instead of the modern stuff we're always getting. It's something I appreciated about the Werewolves pack.
@@reading1713 in the german translation they changed the name from basement to attic, which is super weird I think 😅 soooo I kinda have a attic kit now but not one for basements. I highly doubt they will do something similar again

Ooo I’m actually really excited for this! I’ve always wanted to make attic spaces or basements where they’re realistic clutter, like at my grandparents home. I’ve been making due with the occult packs, cause they have some decent run-down items, but they only go so far and they don’t necessarily read as “vintage”. This is exactly the types of items I’ve been wanting. I think the sims team has realized we really want some more realistic items, things that look like the sims really use them so every home doesn’t look super cookie cutter perfect. And I really appreciate it.
These items are so nostalgic, all takes me back to my childhood. The tv, records in milk creates, encyclopedia books, most missing, on a broken book shelf! I love this!
Seeing the heart bed disassembled breaks my heart a little. I hope a cc creator fixes up the TV console and makes it functional since my grandparents had a TV like that
I'm so excited every time they add scuffed and broken (not glitched, but looking old and worn) items to the game. I want to build apocalyptic, abandoned, etc., builds as well as the MCM that the game favors so often. Definitely adding it.
I think what they did with the retro floor tv was perfect and makes sense from what I’ve seen. My grandmother had one of these TVs and after it stopped working, she just used it as a surface to put her flat screen on top of 😅 I’m not a big kit buyer but I do love to build. These items are great
Wasn't sure about this kit, but now I'm sold. The trunk is my fave. I own two streamer trunks irl. They are both family heirlooms, in lovely condition and yes, I use one as a coffee table. My Great-aunt Charlotte took it with her to university in Germany, just before the war in the '30's. I'm so glad some of the swatches come without the paper hanging out of it! My other favorite assets in the kit include the leaning mirror, TV with antenna, the TS1 plant, and the trophies. I will be purchasing just as soon as I "earn" it, by doing a dreaded chore I keep putting off. Procrastination is my greatest "skill". Thank you so much for the overview!
I LOVE building dirty, worn-down lots, so I’m very excited to get my hands on this. It seems like it’ll work really well with werewolves and strangerville too, since they both have a lot of items with that grungy, scruffed-up vibe
I really prefer STUFF PACKS quantity is important and when it's on sale it's basically a Kit price. 😅 For me it's 1 USD = avg.$8 so I really need to get value for my money, I can't justify it when Stuff Packs existed & it made sense.

A starter home with this and City Living would be really cool to see. Or maybe even a starter home that's base game+this. Would be cool to see what could be done with minimal DLC to make a more... homey... place.
This pack actually seems super cute. I am absolutely going to buy it. Until I saw this walk-through, it was a no from me. I couldn't see a use for a bunch of trashed items. Now, though? I want to make grungy college and city apartments. Some of this stuff is great for the werewolf town, too.

What is with the orange parts of the couch? Why would anyone want those parts to be orange? 😂 I am so happy about the rubber plant. Makes me wonder why they don't introduce more Sims 1 items, that's a type of kit I know tons of simmers would buy.
I think I’ll get this kit someday as it has a similar worn down aesthetic to the werewolves pack and the only thing I liked from the werewolves pack was the BB, so I never bothered ($30+ didn’t seem worth it). This seems like a much better alternative for me
I moved my sims’ uncle into their basement yesterday, using a lot of stuff from this kit. He’s an engineer and does all of his robotics tinkering down there, which gives a cool mix between old basement furniture and new technology, I think! :) I hooked up a games console to the old squaretube TV and seeing him playing a racing game on it with his niece was so cute.
All of these items are incredible. That sims 1 plant gave me a rush of amazing memories and feelz then you used the music to end video. Do you want me to cry haha
My greatest gameplay is to move into a rundown house and improve it untill it looks good. I love the idea of people using this kit to put homes and community buildings in the gallery for me to play with.
I love these items and am more likely to get this kit than the greenhouse one but I agree with a lot of other people in the comments: I feel like both could have been included in Growing Together...
I really like that they have both clean and dirty of the same color swatches, so you could start with the nice one and switch over, like the furniture is changing over time
My only complaint is that I really don't get the point of including picture frame items if you can't change the pictures. The game has so many items like that already and I really hate it.
I appreciate the designs of these items but as someone who likes to build homes from different eras but not necessarily run down houses I'm just kind of sad that we'll probably never get something like that big tv console in working condition. So, not for me, but thank you to Gryphi for showing off this kit in such detail! Can't wait to see what you think of the greenhouse one too!
Maybe with enough push back EA would update it and add a swatch thats the same item but working condition? We could only hope, but I agree about the TV
I'm really excited for this one. I have basements in a few sim homes, but most of them look too nice and too put together. In one of my sim's homes I put a home theatre, because I didn't know what else to do and thought, "Why not?" but it's nice to have something more realistic like this. If you grew up in the US or Canada, this is pretty much what basements were like, just a repository of old stuff. We had basically this exact TV in my basement too. I'm disappointed it isn't functional.
Already purchased this kit and put it to excellent use! Playing Not So Berry, and my Gen 6 sim has moved out of the TLC apartment and is “hiding out” in an abandoned cabin in the woods with her twins, as if something in her criminal career track has gone very wrong. This kit added so much personality to my story line this afternoon.
I'm definitely getting this dlc. The old tv and one of the lamps looks exactly like what I had when I was a child. I've wanted to recreate my childhood home for ages but all the base game stuff was way too new looking for it.
I feel like most of those would be in a castle abandoned room or something or a rich peoples home for stuff they don't use anymore I absolutely love that idea!
For 5 bux, these kits are amazing! I know many SIM's youtubers have been complaining. But for those of us with little money, 5 bux is WAY easier to afford over the 30-40 dollar packs. I refuse to buy the CAS kits, I just don't care for CAS much, but the build and buy?! Thank you MAXIS! Thank you Guru's! So fun!
Yea for actual packs, I always try to save up like $50-100 and wait for sales to get the bundles. But kits I'd just buy outright cause $5 is way cheaper
@@stormwright8300 I did that last year. I was able to get all the things (but the CAS Kits) available up till Werewolves. I used all the specials and sales, and really appreciated when the kits arrived. I could get those kits, but sadly not the Packs right now. Especially with the way the Economy is, meh! However, the Kits have kept me happy and still getting new stuff for the game. 5 bux a month is very doable, I agree!
In live mode, the lamp actually flickers and has a buzzing sound! Its pretty cool tbh

How are the in-game prices on these items? I feel like they should be cheaper than nice new objects, but Sims prices items so randomly.
