- On the latest One Star Reviews, VICE's Taji Ameen is on the search for the lowest rated male strip club in Florida. To truly get to the bottom of the reviews, he goes undercover, posing as a dancer going for an audition in front of a live crowd. Lucky for him, he is in Florida surrounded by hot weather, fully functioning nightlife, and many men. After scouring Yelp, he comes across La Bare, a male strip club with numerous one star reviews and heads over to try out. After the last strip club I was expecting another uber sketchy business, but the owner and the dancers really seemed like good, genuine people just trying to run a business and make some ladies happy. The dancers seemed like bros you could go out drinking with and the owner just seems like he's trying to run a clean business that is inclusive to everyone. The fact that single guys are charged more and forced to sit separate to make lady patrons more comfortable is awesome IMO. Despite the negative reviews, this place seems pretty awesome, and I'm a straight male with no particular desire to go to a male rippers. Good job Taji!

As someone who worked at La Bare for 3 years, my colleagues and I spent hours working out, dieting, tanning and rehearsing our routines to make sure we put on the best performance possible each night. Obviously, when there are less women in the club or they aren't excited to be there, it makes it more challenging to build the energy from the stage, but it isn't impossible. Those are the times when its likely a lady might leave less than satisfied, but it is usually because THEIR insecurities or lack of participation.
I’m a female dancer, it’s really interesting seeing how the male clubs are run! I’ve never been in one myself, but I’d go just to support the guys :)
Similar can happen in female clubs. Insecure guys mad they're awkward or insecure, or dead nights where the energy just isn't there. Nothing to excite a dancer than paying a stage fee only to see a total of 3 people, all creeps, giving out at most a dollar a song

Ye i never understood the instant hate awkward people get regardless of the content of their character. undercover in this context probably means that when the crew contacted la bare about filming, they probably addressed the camera and a film project, but were likely vague or stretched the truth about what the project was about so as not to get a biased representation of the strip club. as you can imagine you might not even get the chance to film anything if you told a business owner you are filming things about places with 1 star reviews
