    I did not think I was going to like the dark colors but it dried more mellow and you did a great job of bringing the two together. I have been enjoying your pearl pours for days now. I am six months new to pouring and I find your teaching easy to follow. Thank you for all the help..

    Hi Meta! It’s great to see a new video from you! I love this painting!! I’ve recently returned to playing with pearl pours and your recipe works the best for me. AND, weirdly, I’ve been playing around with blowing out a Dutch pour on a pearl base! I am inspired to use more translucent paints. Thank you for sharing! ❤

    Hi Meta, I have been watching your video's for hours now. It's did mention on one I am now a pearls fanatic ,lol. In watching you mix all your paints, base etc, I noticed the minwax pre stain conditioner you use is the one with an oil base?? Please correct me if I am wrong. I bought all the supplies needed 2 yrs ago for the shellee blooms including pre stain wood conditioner.BUT I BOUGHT THE WATER BASE. Thinking oil and water don't mix. I finally gave up on the blooms from all the expense and frustration. Noticing everyone's video shows the oil base, please tell me I purchased the wrong one. I so very much wish to be successful with pearls.!!! Thanks for reading & know you will reply.!!!

      Hi Betty, first of all, thank you so much! I'm happy to hear we have another pearl fanatic to add to the club! Now to answer your question. Yes, you did buy the wrong one. I'm not super familiar with blooms, but I do know they use the oil-based minwax. Which is the one I use to help encourage the metallic pearl pours as well. I think it is the oil that helps inspire all the reactions. Satin enamel has its own "special oil" in the paint. I'm not a chemist, so I'm not sure what is exactly going on, but I have noticed the paints that tend to cause their own cells, all have a bit of an oily sheen to them. Or even need to be mixed together really well to incorporate the oils in the paint. So you are right, that oil and water don't mix. But that is a big part of what causes all the reactions!

      @@MetaPours Thank you so much for your reply about the minwax pre stain. May even trying blooms again, but pearls definitely. I have only been pouring paint a couple of years now, and I remember initially all the issues with silicone creating cells but the difficulty cleaning canvases before varnishing due to the oils. Does that problem exist with pearls, blooms as well using the minwax? Again thank you so much for your help, AND may I have your permission to attempt your beautiful canvas with browns, black, cream grey etc??

    I just LOVE those colors together, I can see why you do. Pearl dutch pours are my absolute favorite way to paint now that I have a blow dryer that works well. I was going to get the one you have as I first heard about it on Tammy Anderson’s channel. But I went with one recommended by Tara with pieces of Tara, as it was several bucks cheaper (I HAVE to contain costs). It works great! I also use the mini blower to fine tune the edges. So you’re a gal after my own heart. I subscribed to your channel and may be able to pitch in a bit for the new laptop. You need another one, fo sho! 😉
    By the way, do you find yourself, because you’re an accountant, more OCD with your painting? Just curious.. and please do NOT take that as criticism. I’m quite OCD myself and there’s nothing wrong with it unless YOU find it’s problematic.
    So I’ll be watching your videos, going back to view others and thank you so much for sharing your art. ❤️

      Hi Alice! I think being a bookkeeper makes me more comfortable with the numbers side of pouring. Meaning mixing ratios, loving the process of mixing my own paints, and keeping them consistent. I'm definitely my own worst critic when it comes to my artwork. But I think that might be a trait for many creatives? I don't share unless I love it... And I don't always love it. lol
      I'm so glad you found a blow dryer that works for you! That's really the most important thing. I was able to find this dryer at my local Walmart, so it was actually pretty inexpensive at the time. But I've seen it on Amazon jacked up in price! And believe me, I understand needing to contain costs!) Please know I took none of your comments as criticism but enjoyed waking up, and reading it. So glad you found my channel! I would love to see your artwork. Are you Facebook? You should join my Facebook group if you are!

      @@MetaPours I’m so glad you took that in the manner intended - only to find out if perfectionism, bordering on OCD, was a trait we shared. Based on how you mentioned you like a nice evenly flooded canvas, etc.. it sounded so much like myself.
      I actually was just approved as a member in your Facebook group. I’m happy to share my art with you and am really honored you’d ask. I’ve learned a few things in other acrylic pouring groups, but I also get a lot of questions about my pieces, and some I don’t know how to answer, lol. So it’ll be fun to be a part of your’s.
      As for Amazon, I’m not a huge fan of Jeff Bezos, hahaha, so try not to go there if I can help it - or put more money in his pocket. 😉

      @@alicerowan4688The more I think about it, I probably am a bit OCD, about certain things at least. But at the same time love getting my hands covered in paint, and making a mess... But I do need things a certain way. Like I have a hard time painting on a dirty paint pad. I try really hard to reuse everything multiple times for the sake of the environment, but I really struggle with a dirty pad... 🤔
      So glad that you joined the facebook group! I will be keeping an eye out for your posts.

      ME TOO!! I do save some of the runoff, but it could be more. Perhaps I should put a drop cloth on the carpeted floor, lol. So I end up folding it up in the parchment paper to toss out in order to start the next with a nice clean table. So I get that, completely! I often wonder what percentage of the environment I’ve messed up since starting to paint.

      HI GT, Those are satin enamel pearls that are created by the base paint underneath the colors. (the white paint) I have a video that demonstrates that recipe. Here is a link ua-cam.com/video/bf9hFc-ul_M/v-deo.html

    What is the difference between what you call pearls and what others call cells?

    • @kelseymathis544
      @kelseymathis544 2 роки тому +1

      Pearls are a type of "cell" formed by a certain technique using certain recipes, I believe.

    • @MetaPours
      @MetaPours  2 роки тому

      Hi Linda, the way I understand it is cells are when multiple colors come together and create "cells". They are often encouraged with some kind of additive, like silicone. Pearls are generally speaking a single colored cell, which are created by paint density mixing techniques.
